We are here for builds but we are HERE for you. Don't ever apologize or minimize anything you're scared about or passionate about. I've noticed you do it when you swap over to going back to builds and maybe these are just cut in places. But we love to hear about your life. You could talk the whole video about YOU and we would still watch. ❤

Not eating meals at the table is so American, as an Italian I can confirm we always eat every single meal at the table (even snacks). Although I've lived for a year in the States and i often ate meals on the couch (if I was running late I'd eat in the car too)

Growing up my family only ate at the table (but we did have a kitchen table and a formal dining room). The kitchen table was for everyday and the formal dining room was just for holidays/special occasions. I think eating on the couch is something newer for young adults living on their own.

I’m American and it was drilled into my head my whole life that you’re only allowed to eat at the table. However, almost all my friends growing up were allowed to eat on the couch or in their rooms and it made me nervous that my mom would find out.

When I was very young, I remember sitting at the dining table to eat, but that was when I very little. For most of my childhood, our dining table was tucked away into the bay window that looked out into the backgarden. It was one of those big circular tables that could be extended into a bigger table, but I don't think we ever actually extended it. I never called the dining room "the dining room", instead it was either the living room or back room, and the actual living room was the front room. The backroom was basically designated as the kids' living room; it was where our playstations 1 and 2 were hooked up on one of those old box TVs (this was long after more sleek TVs were popular, and where our Nintendo Wii was. After my parents divorced, we only ever used it as a dining room at Christmas, at which point my mom had replaced the table with a smaller one. Outside of that, I ate meals sitting on the floor or on the couch or in my bed. That's also where I used to do homework. Nowadays I sit on the sofa or in my bed because sitting on the floor does not tend to agree with chronic pain and fatigue lmao. In more recent years, the backroom has become my brother's bedroom. It's much bigger than his old bedroom which only really fit a single bed and a small set of drawers. That's now become my mom's office, which fits a corner desk, after she started working from home during covid.

This house is so cute! I don't generally gravitate toward modern builds, but I enjoy the ones you create. I think in part it's because you tend to incorporate some warmth via color and texture (I'm really not a fan of modern stuff where it's all stark colors and concrete). I grew up in a relatively small house with a very basic layout on the first floor: the living room was in front, the dining room was in the middle and mostly open to the living room, and the kitchen was at the back of the house and mostly closed-off. Because I have a big family and there was limited space, all rooms were used. We always had meals at the table when I was younger, but as we got older, my parents cared less. It's definitely interesting to see how much the architecture people grew up with influences their builds.

I love that you took the time to talk directly to Snap about why she needs to wear the cone 💕 I actually related a lot from when my cat had a surgery to have some of her teeth removed. I was stressing a lot because I couldn't explain to her what was happening. It makes me feel better now being the only one feeling like that 😅 Also, growing up we always used the formal dining table, either for eating and doing homework 😅 now, living by myself, I don't have a dining table and prefer to eat on the couch or on my desk haha I love the build 💕

15:14 In my household, we eat at the dining table quite a lot 😅. Since I was young, my mom always forced us to eat at the dining table. But now that we grow older, we have more flexibility to choose whether we want to eat at the dining table or not, but most of the time we'll eat at the dining table, and I guess now it become a habit 💁‍♂

I grew up living with my grandparents which is probably why we almost always sat at the table when eating dinner. However the table was in the kitchen and we didn’t have a separate dining room. We each had our own designated seats, lol. On occasion we would eat elsewhere like if we ordered pizza or something but it definitely was not the norm. Now with my kids I am definitely a “eat on the couch” type of mom but I think I need to bring back sitting at the table cause I really really liked that growing up :)

Ooo, so I lived at my grandma's house and she had a full open plan, If you think about it going from top to bottom, 3 "rooms" on top and 2 room on the bottom, we had our breakfast room, kitchen (Which was a full wrap around, the side facing the breakfast room having a bar and the side facing the dining room having a archway), formal dining, then a wall dividing everything expect the breakfast room. Then on the bottom we had our big open living room with a big fireplace, and a really pretty entry hall. So we would all sit in the breakfast room and we would also be able to still see the tv in the living room and we would sit as a family, eat, and watch tv. She would usually have ncis or blue bloods on while we ate. Once we got older that went away but your video got me thinking about that. Now Im in a apartment and still have the dining table near the TV lol. How much does not change xD

I don't have a barsetting or a table in my kitchen. My kitchen is a little closed off. In my livingroom I have the tv/sofa and a table with chairs. Half of the table we use to eat with the three of us and the other half is cluttering space with magazines, mail and all that kind of stuff. Only when my parents come over, that side is cleaned. My workspace is in a spare room we have in our house. I work for a bank and to work from home it is required that there is a designated room that can be closed off from the rest of the household for security reasons.

We sat at the dining table exactly 2 times a year. For Thanksgiving and X-Mas dinner. Besides that it was used as a dumping zone and you could never really see the table underneath all the clutter. In my house now, our "dining room" is where we have our dog crates and their food bowls so our dogs also eat in the formal dining room lmao.

I mostly never ate at the dining table and usually ate in my bedroom. In my home before graduating we didn’t have a formal dining table, our “dining room” was just a second living room. In my current apartment we have zero space for a dining table at all and eat at the coffee table or at our desks in the bedroom/office lol. Formal dining tables are only for bigger homes and during events

Feeling like you need a "real" adult for things just seems like part of adulthood for me, haha. I'm in my mid 30s, and I still call my mom when that feeling hits. I'm also at the age where I'm intentionally treasuring having her around to ask my silly questions and give me the encouragement I need. ETA re: the dining table situation - as a kid, we had a small "open concept" house, where we could see the TV from the dining table. We did eat together at the table basically every night. Now, in my own house, it's also a tiny (800 sq. ft.) "open concept" house, but there's no room for a dining table 😂. The place where a table would go is where the lizards live 🤷🏻‍♀️

We have a narrow galley kitchen and a dining room so we eat at the table mostly. My husband works from home there often and we do a lot of crafts there. We were debating knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room when we redid the kitchen, but decided against it because of cost.

A lot of modern builds are very plain smooth lines **because** they want to emphasize nature. That's why they have a lot of stone, basket, and wood textures. So the plants and the building are the tight vibe.

15:17 we have never eaten in the couch…ever! We always use the formal dining table for all of our eating. When we aren't eating, my mom might sit and do something, but we mostly use our rooms (my brother and I do our homework in our respective room, my dad works in the office and my mom doesn't really work from home). Eating in the couch seems really odd to me 😂

Omg when i was planning my wedding I relied on my mom so much to be the "real" adult so i totally get it! She was there for every decision and helped so much when talking to vendors. My mom also used our dining room as a work space and so we all would study and do homework on it. We generally ate in the living room instead too!

I grew up not being allowed to eat anywhere but the table 😅 My parent’s house didn’t have a formal dining room, but we had a kind of kitchen table until they converted our garage into a living room and then there was a dining room. I currently live in a house that has both a breakfast/kitchen eating area and a formal dining room. We eat in the kitchen and the dining room is basically our classroom for my kids 😅 We only eat in the dining room on holidays or family get-togethers. Long story long, I try to make my sim’s houses with kitchen tables or adjoining dining space.

On the many uses of the dinning table: in my house it's always been used for formal ocasions like christmas meals, birthdays, etc. We eat at the kitchen table (never by the TV, that is still one of my mum's rules) and we did our homework in the desks in our rooms. My mum always had a home office because she's a teacher and needed the space to work, my dad has one now as well because since the pandemic he does a lot of remote work

My house was NOTHING formal, but we always sat down at the kitchen table. It was the closest to the kitchen, and we didnt have any bar stools or anything like that. So we did actually all sit down and eat together at the table until like my senior year when my siblings all left. It was nice!

In UK, as I reckon geographical location plays a big part in the dining situation. We’ve always used the dining table. When we were younger we would sit and do our homework at the table, then have dinner at it as a family. We have family games night and play games at the table. We tended to and still do seem to use the dining room more than the living room. Layout of the rooms may also play a large part of this, the three rooms make up an L shape, living room makes up the top of the L which leads into the dining room which makes the corner of the L and then the kitchen off the dining room. It’s the central room so make sense why we spend more time there

I actually play pool in real life in the APA, I’m the captain of the team. I love pool and I NEED one in the sims! I would totally use it and put it in my sim’s house. POOL TABLE! POOL TABLE! POOL TABLE! ♥️😍🤣
