Great machine for the price. The hose at the attachment point of the extraction head is the issue brought up by most. Easy fix. Before your first use get some rubber plumbing "Rescue Tape" ($6-$12) and wrap it about 3-4 inches around the connection point area (1.5- 2 inches overlapping each side of the hose/head connection point). Don't wrap to tight or you will pinch the hose and actually force the glue on the hose to separate from the head but about as tight as you would wrap your finger with a bandage. It is flexible enough to not compromise the extractor and adheres to itself very well and will basically give you a flexible cast to keep it from separating. I have had mine for 3 years and have used the crap out of it and no problems with the hose.

Its not really necessary to put solution on the water tank just use water and for upholstery you can buy the chemical guys lighting stain removal or there chemical guys carpet cleaner its a shampoo you dilude it buy a pump sprayer some drill brushes to agitate the seats and some Milwaukee drill set and 100% those stains will come off easly i have the bissell extractor and works very good hopefully the tips help you :)

Dumb question, but is the clean water tank just for spraying through the hose or does it like inject clean water and suck everything up as it goes? For auto everyone uses the method you described above, so no need for clean water in the tank right?

@@AndyTargaryen for the solution tank just pour water in there till its filled then start extracting and pressing the small clip so it can spray water and itll be sucking in the dirty water at the same time once the water runs out refill it again repeat same process over and over :) on the dirty tank theres a white line where it marks when the tank is full once its full throw the dirty water i recommended using a big bucket and just be pouring the dirty water there once the bucket fulls up just pour all the nasty water on grass or dirt... on my bissell some times it doesnt want to spray what i do is i just pull up the solution tank up and down and it works again make sure to not put to much pressure on the neck where the sucking brush attaches otherwise itll break off happened to me when i was extracting a clients car i put to much pressure and it broke off good thing i had warranty and some krazy glue lol so i glued it back but i did email bissell and told them my situation so they sent me another bissell extractor:) also let me keep the old one for parts rn it still works but its best to have 2 extractors just incase something like that happens that way you can continue working hopefully these tip helps you long paragraph lol.

@@AndyTargaryen if you use solution buy some pump sprayers at homedepot or Walmart buy the chemical guys upholstery shampoo carpet cleaner its a green solution or the chemical guys lighting fast that one is clear just pour little bit on the pump sprayer and add water till it fills up to the top then just pump it and spray more easy way with out hassle but always pour water first on the pump sprayer then pour the carpet solution that way foam doesnt form you dont want that

The drill brushes are great, but be careful of the bristle stiffness of the brush. RYOBI, for example sell the brushes in a 3-pack with different bristle stiffnesses. You need stiff bristles to scrub the carpet, but the softer bristle brushes for upholstery.

@Jordan buddy you can use a standard interior brush but clearly it’s faster with a drill brush. Are you the least bit handy ? U should have a drill. Or do u prefer ur wife hire somebody else to come give her a drilling when she’s in need of a real man

curious, are those seats leather...? ive been using this for my detailing business and get great results with it. Naturally i use a carpet shampoo and a drill brush to agitate first then take your time when extracting (common sense) you shpuld also repeat the process until the liquid you're extracting is clear (or close) :)

Thanks for sharing this! I've been contemplating getting this Bissell for a while. I've been reluctant because of reviews saying the hose breaks pretty quickly. Have you experienced that yet? I think those reports might be those people maybe weren't as careful with the hose as we should be or something.

The reason the hose breaks is because of how the hose is routed and stored on the machine. If you put the brush head into the holder clamp, it leaves the hose kinked and stretched right below the head. Eventually this leads to stress fracture cracks and breaks. As long as you don't store the head in the holder, you're good. It'll last for years. Silly little annoying flaw, but it's still the best option for the price point.

I'm on my second Bissell extractor (The Green Machine) over 35 years and never had a problem with the hoses breaking. On the first machine, the little motor that drives the pump that delivers the solution failed after about 10 years. I bought a replacement motor from Bissell for a reasonable price, slipped it into a large children's rubber balloon and installed it. It ran for another 10 years. The second machine is The Bissell Auto Pro upgraded machine with heat and it's been going strong for 15 years. The solution delivery nozzles plug on occasion but are easily cleaned out with a fine wire.

buy a pump fill with hot water, add cleaning solution preferably chemical guys apc u can put as much solution as u want not too much tho obv. then spray the hell out ur seats its okay if there is a ton of water everywhere, then drill brush to agitate the carpet or seats, and last use the Bissell to suck it all up. also the Bissell just use hot water in the tank no need to buy there expensive solution.
