They forgot to consider the fact that Mulan’s hair was wet. Wet hair usually is more malleable to cut.

Emma Grace I love Tangled but we can all agree that there's nothing realistic in that movie. And after realizing this a few months ago, I just ignored it. I mean, I'd love it to be more realistic, but to be fair, if it was super realistic most of its magic would be gone so Idk I just roll with it. And yeah, most people don't notice that when watching the movie, I myself was quite intrigued by seeing Mulan cut her hair when I re-watched it 😂 I've always thought she cut it all with one swing but apparently nope!

If you actually analyze the scene from Mulan, you can see she actually didn't cut all of her hair at once. The moment they specified shows the front chunk of her hair being cut, but if you look behind her back you can see the hair that hasn't been cut yet. Also, it shows her hair coming down in pieces in the scene where her hair falls to the floor, another thing that shows it was sliced in chunks, not a single swipe. Just a little observation, not here to pick a fight.

If you really payed attention, you would see mulan used the sword to cut more then once. The hair in the scene falls to the floor bit by bit. As well as Mulan only grabbing half her hair to cut.

funny story , I'm a Kindergarten teacher and after a 3 day weekend one of my students also did the same but with scissors. her parents had informed me ( I laughed ) .
