for anyone wondering, root beer actually does taste like wintergreen mint because root beer was originally made with sassafras which is a plant that tastes like vanilla and wintergreen, it's also common for straight up wintergreen to be added as well. use of sassafras in food was made illegal in the us in 1960 due to its carcinogenic effects but ofc the root beer companies just use different ingredients to achieve the same flavor now

I used to work at a soda shop, and I eventually was able to distinguish soda brands based solely on taste. I remember doing a blind taste test with a coworker and I was able to correctly guess each of the root beers we had on tap. I can't drink sodas anymore without comparing them to other brands. I also worked there long enough to build up a collection of around 150 bottles, with 100 being unique. And on a side note it was quite observant of Droid to notice the mint, since root beer can contain wintergreen mint like already mentioned here. Also a fun fact is that some will still be made with sassafras since safrole is the carcinogenic compound in sassafras, and it is possible to get safrole free sassafras.

As someone who drinks a lot of soda, I can confirm most root beer does (though I always said A&W tastes like toothpaste lol) There is even another comment discussing the ingredients in root beer that make it taste similar. If only he tried Mug root beer, the true top dog of root beer.

I had a day back in high school where we were making the stupid 2 liter bottle rockets. So I had a 2 liter of Big Red on me that day completely unrelated. Teacher made a remark that we needed 2 more bottle to have enough for the class to be divided up into even groups of 2, so I just chugged the fuck out of that bottle then rinsed it out and was like "Now we have enough"

I'm a man who has chosen Diet Coke as my poison for life so seeing Diet Coke so low was odd but at the same time, seeing things like Starry and A&W Cream Soda super high was funny. A small tip for any soda and one tip for Pepsi specifically, plastic bottles tend to really kill the flavor for a lot of them. The Pepsi tip is warm Pepsi has almost zero taste or tastes like stale Coke so keep it cold if possible

Kinda related to sodas, Droid. Next time you do one of those crazy hot sauce challenges, I recommend you to get aloe vera drinks instead of milk. Not only they help to get rid of the burning senstation in your mouth and stomach almost as good, if not better than milk, you won't feel sick in the stomach after drinking more of them. We all know that milk with hot sauce does delay the inevitable, but if you drink too much, you feel shit afterwards. Or just get ice cream or yogurt, they are good alternatives too. Anyways, great video, I have tried only 5 of these drinks, since I don't live in a country where you can easily buy stuff like Doctor Pepper and all that similar stuff.

I don't know if it's just me, but when I was younger in Mexico my family would come together and bring food. Sometimes Coke sometimes Pepsi. BUT the weird thing is that I would be drinking Pepsi for like a week and it would have flavor and taste good. But then I would switch to Coke and it would taste nasty, but eventually it gained flavor and tasted good. AND THEN I would switch back to Pepsi and it would now taste bad! It was a weird switch between the two.

Root beer has different flavors dependent on different brands. A&W as a creamer or vanilla flavor, barq has a more carbonated soda flavor. Mugs is a happy in between.

7 up and Sprite are the Ying and Yang of lemon and lims soda, 7 up has a softer hit compared to sprite and tastes more lemony where as sprite hits like a damn truck compared to 7 up and tastes nore limey
