Don't forget: 1a. Get chilled to the bone and covered in mud. 1b. Wonder if the air is going get stale/toxic causing your body to hyperventilate/die 1c. Be nostalgic about sunlight
What would honestly scare me the most is the idea of someone behind me, between me and the exit, getting stuck and me having no way to get them free and being trapped by their stuck body.
Fuck me, people keep posting their fears and I have them all, lol. If I ever get kidnapped and will be forced into something narrow I'm so fucked. I will get shot right there then because I simply could not, lol.
They aren't? They're with a trained professional in a normal well known cave that is like very well known and used by people it isn't 'out of their minds'
@@Manitron You should know that by having a trained professional and going to a known cave does not really translate on total security, there is plenty of real stories of cave diving gone wrong on RU-vid even with the help of professionals in the field. There is plenty of examples there where people get stuck real bad and the professional won´t be able to help them, there is many variables that could go wrong. I am surprised how the parents of these children allowed them to do cave diving on this cave, which didn´t looked apropriate for people with no experience.
The idea of not knowing if your chest would fit and getting stuck half way is so terrifying to me. The first person who did it, how do they try and see if they can fit
Bro at first seeing the first tight squeeze made me panic, but then you rationalized with us about how it’s fairly safe, and how beautiful the rock strata are. Somehow you calmed me down lmao, super good content and very underrated!
@artyomredubbed8404 youre comparing a car to a very tight space that has a higher likelihood of something going seriously wrong.you must be a biden supporter.
I love exploring caves and underground places. Any tight passage though and I will back down. I can't for the life of me understand why people would push themselves through this. Travis had been there 15 times and still managed to get stuck. The reward was a room where you can stand, which is something you have anywhere out of this cave.
Activities for suicidal people. And the father bringing his kids with him, you can see how sad he looked for potentially killing them. Absolutely shameful.
I agree . Why anyone would jeopardize the lives of their kids like this is nuts. Why take any risk of them dying ? They could fall in a hole and die or get crushed by rocks , Or drown. It just doesn’t make sense to me
Kids seem to have had the best time of their lives... I'd have surely aced it as a kid. But now, I'm way too old to squeeze through big holes, let alone tiny little ones like these... Kids overcoming claustrophobia is actually a good thing. But the fear exists for a purpose.
I could see the way your body moved when you went through the wet pinch, like idk how to describe it but the body language just projected fear, good in you for committing cuz that is definitely extremely terrifying
Thats fine but if you get stuck you shouldn’t expect rescuers to risk their life for you. You decided to risk your life, and lost. And its irresponsible bringing kids.
I watched too many caving disaster videos before this lol definitely sounds like a hobby to have the right equipment, have people properly notified of where you are and expected time frames, and never take unnecessary risks. I wonder if there's any special rescue alert gadgets out there, like how snow boarders have for avalanche emergencies..
Aside from running a cable all the way down? No. You are literally cut off completely from the rest of the world. Good luck having any kind of emergency out there.
French speleologists actually invented a special VLF/ULF radio which works in caves. It's a hassle to use and not a mobile system like walkie talkies, in order to use it you have to pound a metal spike into the rock in order to provide an effective ground or else the radio won't work. So they're only really use for deep underground expeditions and cave rescues, where they form either overnight camps underground or even base stations.
@@ImpreccablePony Incorrect, normal above ground communication systems won't work in caves, as they use VHF/UHF frequencies, which are unable to penetrate rock. However for caving emergencies and expeditions they use special VLF/ULF radio's with a ground wire which is attached to a metal spike and pounded deep into the soil or rock. Such systems can penetrate as much as several kilometers of rock, and are used by different cave rescue organisations all over Europe.
@@jacobwilkins1869 Straw man argument. A parent who doesn't encourage his kids to do cartwheels along a cliff edge isn't 'sheltering' them - he's just exercising wisdom and caution. Plenty of ways to let children grow independently without putting them in mortal danger.
@@jacobwilkins1869 I think there might be a slight difference between "sheltering" your child and not making them crawl through a cave that's barely wider than their body. Not sure though.
Hey man, I really enjoyed watching your perspective of caving. I’ve been watching caving stories for a while and have recently been interested in trying an easy one even though it freaks me out. Seeing your account presented in this honest and genuine way not only helped me reach the conclusion that I now will try it, but gave me an appreciation for your videos. Everything was great man, the cinematography, the dialogue during and after, the editing, and your personality. You have yourself a new subscriber my friend!
@@mickeyk899ha seriously.... its wild to think there is no amount of money i would EVER do this for, i would hyperventilate, get all dizzy like half way through and it be game over . At least i know my limitations i guess ha
What a great little video, a wonderfully packaged/edited and narrated peice of adventure that captured all of the most intense/important action and made for an easy watch that keeps you on the edge of your seat all at the same time! Well done!!
How anyone can see that tiny whole in an already claustrophobic inducing tunnel and say to themselves. "i wonder if i can fit through that?" is beyond me.
11:37 kids may have an advantage by being smaller but hypothermia is much more of a risk for them, bodies shut down quicker. I would reconsider taking them through wet pinches next time
@@juliansteinberger4223they said it was 50 degrees F in the beginning it got colder so yeah they are right cold and wet brings your body temp down which can kill you especially in a situation like this.
i totally get kids are smaller and its good to expose them to the outdoors and new situations but as a mom seeing those kids in a place so small made me want to throw up. Theres so many incidents of people being stuck and killed.... bro if that happened to a child ....just the idea makes me so sick to my stomach I want to vomit.
Can I just say Travis is a legend for going in there while being that scared of the spiders? It would be impossible for me to control my breathing when I’m that nervous about spiders being only inches from my face.
the elder brother had been through the cave well over ten times already and other cavers had left large buckets to help with the water stretch, you are seriously shit at paying attention
Explored doesn't mean safe. Just cuz some guy said he squeezed through cave a few times, means nothing. Weather can change in an instant, soil erosion, rainfall, flood etc.
That video was absolutely beautiful, those kids are brave as hell to just smile and crawl through! Great to see everyone staying so calm throughout for such tight squeezes Be careful showing cave entrances in your videos, people sometimes find caves from them and tag them up and stuff, but overall I'd assume this great community you've cultivated wouldn't do anything like that Beautiful video, very well done!
@HansKlopek most kids don't like that kind of stuff. The so called father is beyond irresponsible. Criminal and child endangerement. There are a hundred other ways to spend fun time.
@@lassepaustian3038 A parent should protect their children, and only expose them to appropriate levels of risk. This was _way_ too much for children of that age.
I couldn’t do this so I applaud you. I could hang from my harness 4,000,000,000,000,000,000 feet above the earth, but I couldn’t go through a pinch that’s so small I can’t even move my arms. Fuck that
Noah you are one of the most creative and genuinely refreshing content creators on this platform with consistent high quality vids. I'm surprised you aren't getting as many views as you deserve, keep it up!
I'm not saying this to denigrate anyone who enjoys this because it is your experience that you obviously got something positive out of. This is what I will say. These tiny little crevices are not to be considered caves, in my opinion. I don't look at a deer trail in the woods and say it's a road. Or see a spider web and say "there's a house I could live in." Those are caves to insects and small rodents, but not humans. It seems "caving" has become synonymous with this specific type of adrenaline chasing. Caving, to me, is exploring a cave or even abandoned mine that can actually accommodate an upright standing human for more than just a pocket here and there every few hundred yards. These people are adrenaline junkies ("cave junkies" if you will). The term "caving" should be more representative of people who casually delve into their local caves. As opposed to exclusively referring to people with excessive funds and no rational fear response to a space where you have to nearly break your bones to fit through.
@@NoahKane I initially fell in love with ActionAdventuretwins’s caving videos so when I saw you made one I had to put on my tough skin and jump right into it, as you did!
@@Greesher You don't have crippling claustrophobia, just mild. Crippling claustrophobia wouldn't even let you watch a video like this, you'd get panic attacks just by the mere thought of going down an elevator.
@@EpicLulz000 you’re right. I was exaggerating. Definitely not crippling. But it is still really bad to the point that I haven’t been in an airplane in 10 years, don’t go on coasters because I had a panic attack on one because it was 100 degrees and the coaster broke, or go out in the heat in general anymore. So watching this was a real challenge nonetheless. Paused the hell out of it to catch my breath and can barely finish this comment without getting anxious thinking abt how hard it was to finish Edit: I edited original comment
Can everyone shut up about these kids? This dad seems very loving and he would risk his life for those kids. It’s not irresponsible. It’s irresponsible if he was careless to them. He isn’t abusing anybody. Just taking his kids for an activity which undoubtedly has dangers, ones that a dad could manage. These kids are probably not going in blind, they’ve probably done other insane stuff.
Definitely a smart question about the rain since a lot of caves are prone to flooding. You should learn SRT and do some vertical caves next time. Nothing like rappelling down a 100+ foot pit.
That’s crazy for this dad to take his own kids into these scary ass places. But I guess they have a lower chance of getting stuck. And he seems like he knows whats he doing. And those kids r badass.
If 1 of you had got completely stuck there is no rescue team that would go down there. You'd starve to death trapped in complete darkness and the batteries would fail.
If you’re ever in Belgium I would love to show you around an amazing cave with around 3 km of tunnels, grand chambers, boulder chimneys and a couple of squeezes.
@@MonokelJohn one if the crawl spaces was filled with water. Had it started raining heavy, it could have completely filled up, then there’d be no way out. This happened to 5 cavers in England, and they all drowned. It’s called the Mossdale incident.
“There’s no correlation between rain/surface water and ground water” Are you sure about that? Be safe dude. And yeah rain water definitely affects the water in the caves.
Awesome that all of you had a great experience and no one was hurt!! What an excellent journey for the young ones who went with you all!! God bless and keep it safe out there!! 💯♥️💯🙏💯👍👍
I don’t believe that this is an actual fear of yours after seeing you slide into that first pinch like nothing. I wouldn’t have even made it past the entrance.
I have this reoccurring irrational fear when I watch these, of me sliding through a crack and swelling up either while I’m in the crack or not be able to get back through the crack because I’ve swelled
Compared to climbing which I know is 100 times scarier IRL than it looks on camera, how's this ? Because those squeezes looks ridiculously scary on camera...
Real cavers are all a bit wacky. Insane tight passage crawls of a hundred feet or so, yup, we have those. Lots of animals in our caves including every kind of creepy crawly, lots of bats and guano piles, deep pools of water, large rooms separated by tiny squeezes. 6 hour trips were minimum with an occasional 36 hour mapping trip. We did it all with carbide lamps back then. I'm too old to cave but I sure loved doing it backk then. Y'all have fun
Utterly unforgivable taking a child into that nightmare. Its one thing risking your life as an adult but to take a child who has limited understanding of risk into there is child abuse, you deserve a custodial sentence. There is nothing in a cave worth dying for.
Thanks for caving (for me). Id never do it because of bad claustrophobia but I enjoyed your video. I actually watch these videos to help try and get over feeling and do ha e to occasionally look away. Suprisingly it wasnt until the third pinch. Nice job especially to the kids and keeping it together toward the end. Great video.
Taking two kids for theirs first time would be a little much and it's hard enough worrying about yourself but your kids and brother!! Wow!! I guess this is a straight shot unlike so many other caves!!
I can't even describe how much anxiety give me just watching these videos on youtube, I couldn never, ever, EVER do this kind of stuff. I think if I try to do this I would go panic and crazy af.
