I was excited when you found your rod. I was happy you didn’t give up. I think the reel will be ok with a fresh water rinse and dry then apply some pens oil or some kinda reel oil.

Take scales and THEN the skin later. Anyone know why he does it this way? Honestly curious if this makes it easier.

I was just wondering why he scales the fish and then skins them too? Is it easier to cut the skin away with no scales? I would think you would not have to scale the fish if you were going to skin the filet.
