@Jazzybum a little tip for baking a cake in a tin. Open the cake tin so you have the ring and the bottom bit- the base. Grease the tin with butter or margarine and line the bottom bit with a baking sheet. You do need to cut around it in a circle. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the tin. You are just such a sweet and bubbly person. Greetings from Germany

I have never wanted to jump into a video and help so bad. Im not hating, my very first cake tasted like straight oil, but i was 6 years old. She reminds me of my daughter for some reason and i felt this overwhelming need to run in and rescue her!! I will say though for a first attempt, she actually did quite well! My heart broke as soon as i seen the sphere cake was stuck

This is what I needed as I start to recover from a migraine. I work as a lead pastry for a restaurant so watching this was just so funny and cute to me. Couple tips tho; 1. Just oil the pan don't bother with the flour the oil alone usually works better than the oil&flour mix though oil&parchment paper is the best. 2. Crisco/solid shortening on the work table for fondant work is the best; leaves little residue, keeps any coloring from settling in your counters, and keeps the fondant hydrated so it stays crack free. 3. Most food coloring is alcohol based so don't mix with water, mix it would vodka to dilute it for things like painting because alcohol and water in a cup don't mix. Overall you did super well! It was so cute to watch you bake and if you want less of a nightmare on your arms if you're doing a cake without a mixer go with an oil cake vs butter and mixing won't be nearly as bad!

For someone who has never used 'ready roll fondant' you did a pretty good job. The only thing I would say is that if you made it slightly thinner then the cake would be easier to cut. But it looks amazing and not too far from the original.

Usually you mix your food coloring with clear alcohol (most people use vodka) because water will make the fondant soggy. The alcohol evaporates off of the cake so the fondant stays the way it is :)

This was a great first attempt!! If you ever want to try something like this again, I would say never skip your crumb coat & chill step, it's soooo important in order to get nice even layers. A fondant smoother would also really help you to smooth out and gently stretch the fondant to avoid any rips/tears. Also when painting your fondant with food colouring, to help get the same effect as Yolanda use an alcohol-based food colouring and if you need to lighten it use a bit of vodka :D Hope to see you do some more baking videos!
