#2 is huge. This is why i didn’t like when professors didn’t allow you to see what questions you got wrong after online tests. If I don’t know what exactly I got wrong, how can I correct myself?? I never understood it. Just allow the students the access lol.

Practice questions are an amazing way to test your knowledge and how well you actually know the material but how do you learn the material first and understand it well ? What methods do you use ? (reviewing notes you took during lectures, rewriting your notes over and over, active recall…)

The real smart people ive encountered in life are superhuman like this young lady here. Not only do they excel in academics, they are super organized, do what they say they will, have quite the social life, extroverted, are part of a bunch of clubs, find time to exercise, and have a hobby they are good at (or even a side business) 😵 i just put all my “effort” into one thing and turn out just average 😂

#1 priming: familiarize yourself with the general concepts before class #2 mass document with all questions you got wrong, challenging problems (homework, tests...) -> note down reason you got them wrong #3 skim over materials of the previous for 30 min each week #4 do as many practice questions from past homework etc as possible

10th grader here, this is the most amazing inspo to really reach for my goals. The biggest thing stopping me from doing this is doubt that it's achievable, but seeing things like this diminish that entirely ❤

Familiarizing yourself with the overall concept is crucial! I usually refer to it as connecting the dots.

Another thing to note too is she is not taking many classes! Do NOT overwhelm yourself with more classes than you can handle!! ESPECIALLY if you are taking extracurriculars or like she said running a business! It’s better to have A’s in less classes than B’s and C’s in multiple! Honors will boost your GPA! 😉

What I've learned is that you tend to prioritize memorizing information solely to get a high score, rather than striving to gain a true understanding of the subject. I've encountered numerous Asian students who excel in scoring high grades, but once they graduate, they can't actually apply any of the material they've learned to their real lives.

1. Priming, familiarize concept before class. 2. Mass document questions you got wrong. Note challenging problems from assignments, lectures, etc. 3. Skim everyweek, past materials. (30mins.) 4. Don't rereead past chapter, do practice quest/probs.

That’s how I used to study when I was in middle school, my first year in the States. Also my first actual academic when I first received my eyeglasses after leaving a very abusive household. I never gets anything above D’s in elementary, not for the lack of trying. I remembered taking entrance exam at a prestigious elementary school just to prove their point that I’m stupid and retarded. I’ve addressed my problem for my poor eyesight, everything is super blurry ever since I was a child. But because of my parents history and I’m just ‘couch surfing’ as they put it, they wouldn’t want to spend a penny more on a child that’s it’s not theirs. Moving forward, the family that took me in, is very generous and it takes times to get used to changing environments. I’ve excelled at school with A’s and B’s, though my study methods and organization needs some work. Seeing how easy the school was for me, they request to place me in more advanced classes. Here’s the thing, I’ve never, ever, taken any basic nor do I have any knowledge of it, due to my past experience. Like getting put in for Advanced Geometry, or Advanced Literature, or any of that when I never taken basic course of it. It was very challenging and the only things goes through my mind was ‘If I failed, they may send me back to that hellhole’. At the end, I’ve managed to maintain Bs average. They look very disappointed cause now they couldn’t brag about me to their family and friends. But what they failed to see is, TES and TAS considered my enrollment if it weren’t for the citizenship, cause of the essay I’ve wrote. Coming from someone who never ever taken basic English, nor writing and grammar classes, for someone with that caliber to write and being considered? That’s says something about what someone is capable of, about me, although now this sound’s narcissistic 😂. Now that I’m older, I’m not care too much about school. I’m focusing more about my career in the Service. Now that I’ve seen this shorts, you may inspired me to get back into school. Maybe taking college classes at a time while having a career in the Military.

Okay, that first one is 100% real. I'm in training to fly my first jet and I knew it was going to be rough & very confusing, so I read a lot of the material beforehand and it made so much sense in class! I didnt even study that hard and, when I got into the simulator, I was ahead of my peers because I was quickly able to make the connections between the material and the airplane. Great tips!

I have tests tomorrow, and it's currently 11pm for me, I seriously thought I would never make it and barely pass my tests. I have physics degrees and here how I am able to get them. I graduated high school in 2012 so I'm a bit older and I had to drop out when I was younger. I came back and finally finished in 2021. Get chegg for your homework physics because the homework has nothing to do with the exam. It doesn't make sense to spend 3-5 hours on homework that won't help you. Read all your materials first, I hate reading because I have ADD so I got myself speechify and listened to the chapters when I am eating, walking to class or working out. Ask for practice exams and do them over and over until the exam date. STEM classes are not hard if you figure out the system.

Great job! Yes, you can do well in any subject as long as you study properly and study enough.

I do this a lot. Watch videos online about interesting topics (my favorite is math videos) that are FAR out of your range. Then once you’re in the class you’re slowly able to fill in the gaps and gives a guide to your learning

But also if a class is so hard that most people are not able to succeed, that's when you question the teacher's style and also why prestigious classes are more normalized than classes that can be widely understood by all audiences and learning styles.

I got a 100% on my Organic Chemistry final at a UC school and tip #4 was crucial for my success! Doing actual quiz questions and practice problems is familiarizing your brain with what it will see on the real tests, instead of spending that same time solely reading chapters. It comes down to how you study, not how much you study. Many students are passively studying - like reading or passively listening/attending lectures. Active study is when you are pairing an action with what youre learning. Think of it like creating instead of consuming. Dont try to memorize concepts but understand WHY it makes sense so you it just becomes common sense to you. Absolutely come to lecture having read the chapters already. Almost every one of my classmates would not read the assigned chapters before class and wouldnt have a clue what our professor is explaining. Learning is meant to build on knowledge you already know - so dont expect to learn anything if you cant build off of the foundational knowledge from the last chapter. Think of it like a ladder. You climb in one rung at a time, you cant skip any rungs to get to the top.

I just want to remind others out there..if you’re taking this advice, scoring perfect on multiple choice and still scoring average or barely passing on written response, don’t give up! Sometimes teachers get jealous of students and try to discourage them by scoring lower than what the student deserves. Keep putting in all your hard work and know your worth regardless of your score, especially if you know you’re an A student❤

If you replace your mass document with spaced repetition (the mnemosyne project is one good site) flash cards, your study time will decrease significantly. Other than that solid strategy.

What I did to study for any science class was I’d write down key concepts of each lesson, and at the end of a unit I’d make a document called “Everything in a page” explaining everything in one page or less
