Wtf you on about enel, what low Iq reaction was that. Yes you have seen that fucking raigo transformation in skypia if you Finnish it. So no enel coming back yet.... We don't know. How can you act like that too a figuring 😂😂😂
I always figured this is usually someone translating and it’s cut out of the video. You can hear it a few times where kaho translates for Connor, so I figured it was the same other way around sometimes? Definitely would make sense if she understood English tho
I mean I do that with my friends. They speak a language I understand but cant speak well. I just reply to them in english (which they understand) and they reply to me in their languaue. It's weird if you arent used to it but it works good
@@mydrillasanjay5397 To be fair the editing is fairly seamless. Also if someone didn't know that most Japanese people are struggling when it comes to English.
He recently said he wanted to get a new phone and that it's most likely going to be the new Samsung phone. I guess he reached out to them or the other way around and got it for free lol
Haha it's kina interesting cause where I live students in university wear coveralls and tie them at the waist to wear them like pants! You decorate them with fun patches from student events too! Right now is may day (vappu) which is a huge holiday and lots of student parties!
SHUT! UP! You met with her?! The goat herself?!?!?! Maman the talented?!?!?! I've been subscribed to her for a while. Love love love love seeing her studio and collection like this. Beautiful 😍 thank you for doing this video Connor. "I wish I was good, but you can't get good without being bad." And that is what Connor gets right. He's never afraid to try, but more importantly, he's not afraid to fail. He hates it, but he DOES it. And he doesn't throw a fit. Connor is such a good role model.
Honestly Connor didn't do bad at all considering it's his first time - Starting by learning manual shading and highlighting on a pre-painted figure is wild!
Painting anime figures and being a pretty girl? definitely will get a lot of loser weeb attention. A lot of the comments are even creepy in her account.
She’s actually such a good teacher 🥺 constantly giving positive feedback while they’re working but when she wants to give more specific feedback, she waits until they’re ready!! And when she actually teaches, it’s with just enough detail that it’s not overwhelming, but perfectly descriptive.
Connor you didn't get anything spoiled Enel hasn't come back YET, it is just fan speculation that form in the figure is from the Skypiea arc you just don't remember.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValleycontacts would fix eyesight issues, but a magnifying glass (they sell them in glasses form for craftsman) is useful so you don’t strain your eyes neither screws your back by hunching into your project.
ive painted miniature figures before and it's not that hard to see, magnifiers are only really useful if you wanna paint super tiny details like painting the eyes on a figure one inch tall
@@AriSolMorningstarmy partner paints minis too, and refuses to use his magnifying glass. Idk how he does it. My eyes get dizzy trying to decipher details when they aren’t painted.
to be fair, I think barely anyone who paints minis uses magnifying glasses. I paing DnD and other minis and never use any either and they are way smaller than an anime scale figure, even when it comes to their faces. So it's very much doable unless maybe you are far-sighted and struggle with seeing in close proximity. Because you will stick your nose to the figure hahaha
"You can't get good without being bad" Absolutely Connor! The first step to making great art is making bad art! This was really interesting to watch. Also, Connor talking about how the thing he imagines looking different to what he's actually painting? That's just part of being an artist. Sometimes it never looks as good as in your head.
I'm so happy for this artist! She brought the quality that was lacking in a lot of figures, made them absolutely gorgeous, and even got a collaboration going to have her version of a figure to be sold. This is HUGE and a big win for artists, she's so amazing!
As someone who also does this as a hobby (albeit in a much, much smaller scale like miniature painting) it is super fun to hear Connor's introspective into creative endeavours.
As an artist that has been painting and drawing for most of their life seeing connor being absolutely confused but fascinated by art is a treat ahah! This video in particular was a delight to see them both having fun painting while getting a bit of a behind the scenes of such an interesting and talented artist, loved it
thank you guys so much for collabing with Maman. i've been following her works for a while now, but figure painting is such a delicate activity that i didn't think Connor and Kaho would ever touch on
Totally forgot a 1/4th in the video that Connor could understand a good chunk of japanese. I thought I was still watching Shogun, John Blackthorne trying to figure out what they're saying and waiting for the interpreter lmao.
I can tell there's still some cut translating going on, but there was a lot more segments that were not cut where he understood her and I'm so dang proud of him 😂
As someone trying out multiple hobbies in art, it's especially true what she's saying. Don't try to draw it perfectly, just get in there, be bold and don't Overly focus on the details. Get the bigger shapes first, and you'll eventually learn how to add details and finishing touches after.
First Kaho's outfit is so lovely! Second I love watching monster high repaints and customs and have been for years. It was soo cool getting to see another form of customization. Her way of stylizing the figures is just incredible!
it was really neat seeing how Connor picked up really quickly on where the lighting would hit / balancing with shadows - that's not an easy thing to pick up and put into practice quickly - really rad to see :)
Man, I've been painting miniatures and models for years; I'd never considered anything other than air-drying the paints. Now I really want to pick up a figure or two from a thrift shop to experiment on!
These repaints are amazing. I found miniature painting can be really relaxing and good for rebalancing in stressful times, I highly recommend it. Miniature Painting got me through 2020 after my mum passed away and I was stuck home alone. As Maman said the more you paint, you will find the better and more confident you will become. Everyone starts from somewhere, I always thought I couldn't paint, then the more I've done it, the better and more confident I've felt.
This was a lot of fun to watch and I think Connor was a bit too hard on himself: he didn’t do that bad of a job. For a first time, this was really cool. Same for Kaho. They’re both really good at it despite not having done so before. Be more confident, guys! Y’all did great! Also, gonna watch more of her work from now on. I would love to learn how to better paint figures. I’ve always wanted to try that out.
I can relate to the idea of “thinking vs doing” when it comes to making art. Oftentimes we draw what we think we see instead of what’s actually there. It helps to think about the shapes of what your painting. Observe the object you’re painting and break it down to its most basic shape. This helps build observation skills. Keep it up Connor! You’re doing so well for a beginner artist! 😁
Turning Nanamin into Kira is crazy 😭💞 She’s so cool! She has her coveralls tied at the waist and collaborating so her repaint gets released officially, what a lady!
Great job to both of you! That wasn't easy! I just bought the S24 ultra, and I'm loving it. Just trying to learn all the new features! Congrats on getting such a huge sponsorship Connor! 😊💗🏴
As an artist who does very similar projects but with modelhorses instead of anime figures, I absolutely love seeing Connor learn to paint! I'd love to see more videos like this and maybe I should attempt my own anime figure repaint too sometime
Honestly I'd love to see Connor and Kaho engaging in more of the art world. Really fosters an appreciation for it in everyday life when you see how it's all done.
Her art work is just shadows, but she is a GOD TEIR at it. Which is why she has a TON OF LIGHTING. She can add SO MUCH texture and make them more ALIVE.
There are so many principles of basic figure painting + anatomy being utilized, it's so cool! It's interesting seeing these concepts I apply to my own art replicated on a 3d form instead of a flat canvas!
These art channels that do things with 3D models always blow my mind, I remember a channel that made resin sea creatures with acrylic water and watching how they made those is always great. These repainted models are very much along those lines for me, I would really love to see all of those figures, will have to check her out
Im a painter as well and have loved repainting for forever ! watching connor and kaho go all in for painting was so sweet and their interested in the techniques and their banter were absolutely lovely!
I'm so happy to see Maman here! For those interested in trying, you can pretty much replicate the Jojo style very cheaply with sharpies or felt tip pens and white out. We use this technique in product design.
I’ve been seeing her stuff for years and it’s beyond impressive. As a scale modeler and custom gunpla builder, her skills are truly next level! This is a collab I never saw coming tbh. Very cool
Berserk Scultper? SOO COOL. Also those Jojo models are like actually crazy looking. Its not that they look like straight from the manga, but it's just Doing something to my visuals I can't explain and it just POPS. It's like having black and white, but the blood is actually red.
I love seeing these types of videos because I love seeing how Conner looks when someone starts speaking Japanese. I feel like I can see the cogs turning in his head sometimes.
I would love to see more content like this. It was super fun, inspirational, and instructional. Great job on the figures. As an artist I can def say that her advice of getting in there and just doing it is probably the best advice for anyone trying to do art.
These types of videos are so cool to watch. Going and learning something from a professional and Connor making them look 10x better than they already are!
As someone who paints Warhammer minis I can't explain how much I respect Maman and how good she is at painting figures, I wish that one day I can be as good as her
the way she's not JUST doing the shading and keeping in mind where she wants the angle of the light vs shadows, but she's also doing it in a perfect Jojo style, AND in tiny details AND on a 3D sculpture - all those aspects at once - it's absolutely insane, I'm so in awe watching her. I've tried some repainting on "larger" scale (dolls like monster high) and that wasn't easy, so trying to imagine something as precise and detailed as anime figurines - she's absolutely incredible ohmygod
I mean, you are literally part of Weeb Gear, so it s not surprising on its own lmao, what surprised me is that company like Samsung sponsors content creators now ? sweat !
Just the addition of those black lines really bring back the anime feel of the figures. I have no doubt she would make a great manga artist with how well she does those lines. Also, I could relate so much to Connor understanding the task but not being able to execute. It really just boils down to practice and experience with these things.
Speaking on what to watch while painting figures/miniatures, I watch you, Connor. VODs are great to paint to. Though to be serious, her style of repainting figures it really cool!.
Kinda fun to see a video about painting after i just started to get into Warhammer this month so seeing all of this equipment im like yeah looks like all the paint studios I've seen on different channels in the mini painting world
Oh wow. I've been subscribed to Maman for the past 4 years, I've been wanting to try to replicate her style on some of my own figures. What a cross over this was!
As a miniature and figure painter, I never thought I would see my hobby on display on this channel. I've never actually tried painting stuff in cellshaded style, but I do have a really good Frieren STL just waiting for me to find time to 3d print and paint it, so I'll try it soon.
