Yeah, I know Telltale's games (and the memes around them) have made these messages seem automatically ominous, but in this case it just means that Alex and Gabe are getting closer.
Idk if someone already said this but one of the most important controls isn’t explained very well early on. If you ever see people or objects with a white dot (like with Riley) you can hold down right mouse button to use Alex’s power to see emotions (and there is often a option to hear their thoughts). Second, while not mandatory, I generally find the life is strange games most fun when you explore everything and interact (including looking) at everything.
@@notsoaveragefangirl OH MY??!??!?! GOD?!??! I'm gonna tell my mom that Elijah the very nice lesbian lady called me a friend 🥺🥺😭😭☺️☺️ And you're welcome!! You put so much time and effort into the content you make and it always makes me so joyful everytime you upload 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I've played the original Life is Strange. I haven't played True Colors but it is on my wishlist, though. The original game is very deep and very very emotional. If you play that one, be ready to cry, a lot. Even so, it's a wonderfully beautiful game. I can't wait to try out True Colors.
You NEED to play and or watch it, these games are just Amazing you will definitely be impressed especially when they tug on your heartstrings because God DANG they like to do that... A LOT!
I think this will be your kind of game Elijah. After the adrenaline rush that is FNAF, it's good to take it easy with a game that's not likely to give you a heart attck.
no major character in LIS is gay/ lesbian...they are all bisexual (because LIS respects your right to choose) the only playable character who is a single sexuality like Gay or lesbian is Steph...Max, Rachel Chloe, Alex, Sean...all Bisexual. As for characters like Chris or Daniel...well...too young to tell. But we do know Daniel liked Lyla...so he either grew up to be straight or bisexual...probably. As for Chris...who knows.
@@IDyce88 Izzie Margolis is transgender. Steph Gingrich is lesbian. Everyone else, even the guys, are bisexual. The exceptions are for conservative guys like Jed Lucan (himbo Ryan's dad), Pike, or Duckie, as they're likely straight.
I think this is actually the best LiS game story, acting, and even game play wise. So I don't mind her starting her. LiS1 is still great, but I think this one really stepped it up
I've played the first two games. I can compare them to the "Arcane" series in that the characters are very deep, very complex, very three dimensional. They will make you care about them before you realize it and you will feel everything they feel, every emotion, every fear, every heartbreak. It's very easy to lose yourself in them.
@@JustAJinx-ci6hg I personally really liked LIS2, it really broke me. It made me cry the most of all the games. Some people complained that characters kept coming and going without any purpose... But that is the true beauty of LIS2... It makes a tragic reality that they are ON THE RUN. They are fighting to survive and escape something that wasn't even their fault because they are young and dumb children. They meet these strangers who save them along the way, and eventually they have to part ways.
Remember to read the object and people's emotions, it's an important part of the game. And holy shit I just finished watching someone else's playthrough of true colours and you just uploaded this!
Elijah, in case you didn't know: Accesibility options are in case you have, for example, dyslexia or some visual disability (that's the reason that you're able to change the font and the time to take options so you have time to read), in case you're colorblind (that's the color filter), if you're photosensible or sensible to noises (that's the warnings option), etc.
Omgg you've never played the Life is Strange games?! Oh hoho, honey, if you play the previous ones, prepare your heart!! I suggest doing them in order though, they all actually take place in the same world and sorta interconnect with each other
Kind of. I guess the main thing in this game is Steph being in it and us already knowing she's totally into women if you played previous ones. But they can be played on their own and you being just fine
@@CrazeeAdam except with Life is Strange 2 though. There's alot of that which connects to game 1, and before you even start, the game asks you a question that spoils the ending to Life is Strange 1.
If you like this, then I can guarantee that you'll love the rest of the franchise😂 This is my second favourite game right after LIS: BTS. Cast is lovable in everyway, story hooked me in from the start and the emotions it had me in just killed me. This franchise will always and forever have a special place in my heart❤
First of, i'm already loving this video. Second of all, i have two games recommendations that i personally loved. (TheLastOfUs and Detroit become Human) i honestly believe you would looovvvee those games. And aside of all that, i wanted to say that ur literally my favorite person on social media, i absolutely love all of your content!
Hell yeah for True Colors!! The vibes and feels of this game are unmatched to anything else I've played and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I have no doubt you'll love this whole game!
The ONLY thing I didn't like about this game was that I wish Alex and Steph could get more screen time together. They had great chemistry, but little time to explore it.
Dude! IKR! Like they quickly became my favorite life is strange ship in the franchise yet they only had little screentime. (Though they do have cute moments off camera if you’re very thorough with the game)
Yes! I'm so happy your playing this Elijah! I know you'll love it! The characters are so cool! Man, this felt too short. I could easily watch a full hour of this at a time. I really look forward to seeing the next one, I'm interested to see what choices you make.
OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! So sorry that I am late I never got the notification until now, I am so glad that you finally played this I have been waiting for you to play this Game, this Game is absolutely Amazing and I love pretty much all of the Characters (and as a Coloradan myself I will say they did pretty well on the Colorado Scenery!) Just letting you know now you will most likely need a lot of tissues, also I am SO glad that you love Steph already she is such a loveable character (pretty much all of them are) but I will say I think you should have played the first one and then Before the Storm because you would have gotten to known a few characters and the story as well, but maybe it was better this way so you can fall even more in love with Steph! She and Ryan are going to be your love interests and as you can tell already this story is about Alex who has Empath powers and she can tell what someone is feeling! Life is Strange is known for making beautiful graphics very artsy, and the music is always amazing! Again get ready for a rollercoaster Elijah I can't wait until you play more of this game, and hopefully next time I can make it to the premier! P.S. Also yes pretty much everything you pick will have a consequence, just one is sometimes "better" than the other(s)!
My favorite reactor playing my favorite game franchise!!! I can already sense how lovely is going to be to experience this journey again with Elijah ❤️
IMPORTANT. You can read the emotions of the other people! You can do it when there Is a white little circle next to the character you're talking with. It can change a lot your interactions
You have a beautiful singing voice, I would like it if you made this a small series which would great thank you for of your videos continue what you are doing and might just make your mark on the world.
so Alex Chen's powers are more complicated than most people think, most people say she is just a simple empath who can feel emotions but actually her powers are way more complicated: empathy, aura detection, empathic telepathy, psychometry, emotion absorption.
really enjoyed this! big fan of ur reactions and love the true colors game. I would just echo what a few others have said about the white blinking dots by some people, the tutorial at 17:54 is telling you how to read the thoughts/emotions of the character/object in question. Gives some extra insight on both the character and alex's own thoughts after hearing what theyre thinking. Looking forward to seeing how you feel about the rest of the story! also fun fact Gabe does not say 'that's what I was thinking' if you pick the other flowers. He seems to favor getting the sunflowers but takes whatever Alex suggests as the way to go.
omg i wish i could watch this now but i should probably finish my homework ;-; anyway i look forward to watching this when i spontaneously wake up at three in the morning for no reason :D btw i love your vids so much! i found you through your arcane reactions and now i pee my pants from excitement every time you upload haha
Dunno if you got that down (since the game doesn't really force you to 🤔) but whenever there's a little dot/circle next to somebody, it means there's an emotion/thought you can read. To do that, you gotta hold the right mouse button (the one opposite to the one you use for clicking to interact with things) while looking at the person with the dot. One way to see if you're doing it is the person's emotions have colors, so if it changes color you're doing it right. If you release the button, it goes back to normal. It's super important for most of the game, and even when it's not important it can still be funny/interesting. There's tons of reading too, and it's nice to read everything. It's less a game and more like an interactive story, so play it when you're up for a chill time with lots of reading (it can be quite boring or make you super tired otherwise) and explore it tons :)
I imagine other people have told you this, but Steph was actually a character from Life is Strange: Before the Storm. I'm a huge fan of this series and I would suggest you try them all. The games are as follows: Life is Strange: The original. You play a photography student name Max and you're a senior at Blackwell Academy (a prestegious High School in Arcadia Bay) Life is Strange: Before the Storm - This is a prequel game that focuses on Max's best friend, Chloe. It is set in Arcadia Bay and tells you the story of Chloe and fleshes out some of the stuff you learned about her in the orginal game. Farewell: This is a one-chapter mini-game that comes with Before the Storm and focuses on Max and Chloe when they were kids. (I believe Max is 13 and Chloe is 14 in this) The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit: Another one-chapter mini-game where you play a boy named Chris, who has a tremendous imagination and likes to pretend that he is the superhero CAPTAIN SPIRT. It leads into Life is Strange 2. Life is Strange 2: This game has no connection to the original game (though it has some easter eggs and a cameo here and there) and follows the adventures of the Diaz brothers. You play Sean, the older brother, and during the story you have to guide your younger brother as his character and story will develop based on your choices. Life is Strange: True Colors: The game you're playing now! Again, different location and characters than the other games... but you do meet Steph who is from Before the Storm! Wavelengths: This is a one-chapter mini-game where you get to play Steph when she first comes to the town that True Colors is set in. Anyway... hope you don't mind my lengthy post. I can only tell you that I think all the games are fantastic! I hope you can avoid spoilers and have a great time with the series! :)
I’ve seen a different channel play a bit farther into this as a first look and was bummed out a bit they were not planning to finish it. Glad I’ll finally get to see how the story plays out. Also, glad we can agree on the rocker chick’s hotness.
I love the entire LiS series, and True Colors is no exception. That said, the developers really captured lightning in a bottle when they made that first game. If you haven't played it yet, I honestly cannot recommend it enough.
You definitely SHOULD play the first one (a remaster came out recently). This is a nice game. The scenery and characters are beautifully designed, the music is sublime, the story is interesting... but the first one is light years ahead.
As an empath myself, I really felt connected to this character. It's SO FREAKING HARD sometimes to take in everyone's emotions. Anyway, this game is so awesome!! Also please don't be confused, I cannot read minds, only feel emotions of others around me as my own and sometimes get very strong gut feelings lol had to clear that up
Elijah, life is strange is a rollercoaster of emotions, I'm sure you'll love it! But I recommend you trying the other games of the franchise as well, because the references of this game to the other games are priceless. If you have time and find this game interesting, try the complete franchise in this order! - Life is Strange - Life is Strange: before the storm - Life is Strange 2 - Life is Strange: True Colors + Life is Strange wavelengths (DLC of True Colors) I'm sure you'll love it even more after finishing the first three games. ily :)
This seems like a really nice game, and I love your commentary! Fun fact: I actually grew up in Colorado, so seeing the town and the mountains made me really nostalgic.
I love those games, too. I've played Life is strange and Life is strange - before the storm and this one. Also, the soundtracks are cool! You'll love it! :) Currently stuck on AC Valhalla 🤦♀but I'm so exited to see what you think!
I would love to see you do a full playthrough! It's such a great game. Some quick pointers: Hold SHIFT down while you move to jog instead of walk. Also, be sure to RIGHT-CLICK on people to read their emotional state. This will be important. Yes, Steph was wearing the lesbian colors on purpose - specifically, a 20-sided die with lesbian colors - and yes, she was flirting with you. Whether or not you show it in your playthrough, it's definitely worth going through all the texts, journal entries, and MyBlock app stuff, as they offer all sorts of insights into the characters.
Since I can never help myself from giving out LGBTQ recommendations for games: Steph’s story: Wavelengths the DLC for Life is strange True Colors, very gay and realistic. Sayonara Wild Hearts - short game, beautiful music and visuals. Uplifting feeling. Mass Effect and Dragon Age games. Cyberpunk 2077 - Judy Haven - a bit glitchy start might have to start a new game twice cause the game will give you the couple you didn’t choose, but the relationship is the best part. JJ Macfield and the Island of Memories - how this game is queer is a spoiler. But it touches on self harm as a warning. The Last of Us games - designed to make you sad Stardew Valley/Slim Rancher/Rune Factory 5 for the gay farmer life. Unsighted - you’re out to rescue your robot GF Fire Emblem Three Houses, the Black Eagles house is the gayest. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Gone Home - you’re exploring an abandoned house straight people hate it. Undertale and Deltarune Ikenfell - very gay RPG uses the word gay Outer Worlds - one of your companions goes on a date you can’t date them though. Arcade Spirits - diverse dating visual novel can choose pronouns. Lake - kinda like this game but a lower budget. The Walking Dead Season 1 and season 4 skip seasons 2 and 3 they’re not very good. Season 4 is the one where you can do the dating. Divinity Original Sin 2 - anyone on your team Fallout New Vegas/4 and Skyrim. Steam has a Curator: Hella Yuri and LGBTQ+ Inclusive Gaming to help the search for more obscure games.
super hyped that you're playing LIS :D all of the games (especially the first one) are amazing and I'm sure you'll like them! As others already have said it lives off the small details that are placed all around town so looking and interacting with everything is like an untold rule for these games^^ it will open up some cool new dialogue options and might help you decide in the critical moments, or even sway another characters decision sometimes! feel free to interact with the characters again once you found out something new or use your power a second time after having a conversation. EDIT: since you already replaced the music i think that might be the best way to go forward. there is a non-copyrighted music mode afaik but the true soundtrack adds a lot to the emotion of the game so i'd prefer you to have that experience and just change it in the edit anyways enjoy the game!
I haven't played LIS2 yet, because I don't feel like playing as a boy, but between the rest of the games I have to say that True Colors is the best one. I do miss the episodic format of the previous games, but the upside is that there was no risk of a rushed ending due to unexpected budget constraints. (See: LIS1.) That said, *Steph* is a returning character from Before the Storm (the prequel to LIS1), which happens to be the 2nd best game in the series. She's the best, and you will love her! LIS1 is also great, but has... issues. Thankfully there's a sequel comic to tie things up in a satisfying way, and that just wrapped up earlier this year!
When playing this game, it is REALLY IMPORTANT to talk to everyone as much as you can, read every object and investigate every scenario, because even in the tiniest places there'll be something useful for the next chapter. You know, every action has its consequences. Looking forward for your next video!!!
2 weeks late but Life is Strange is pretty much a bunch of different stories with each story having a different kid with different powers, this game she has the power to feel emotions on a whole different level
How did I not see this until now??- It's legit my favourite game that literally got me through some reeeal stuff- I'm so excited to see this play through!-
This makes me happy to see Elijah is expanding her content. I would like to recommend you play some of the older life Is strange games because it is a good story.
I did not play True Colors much, but there is a streamer mode for in the settings. However, i read discussions that it does not replace songs with anything. In previous games the songs choice was really important for the atmosphere, so it would be best if you will experience the game as it was intended, and continue replacing the music for the video, just like you did for this episode.
my favorite youtuber and my favorite game combined?? i love this!! thank you for trying this:)) I definetly recommend the other games as well, those are amazing too! by the way, there's a streamer mode, where it doesnt play the copyrighted music:)
You really should try the other games of life strange series later, mostly before the storm, the best one of them in my opinion. Love this one, and waiting for next episode of true colors...❤️❤️❤️
Pleeeeeaseee Complete, I will watch it even if you do ten videos about it and for an hour for each one 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I love you and I love this game so much. So you two together!! This is the best things.
i'm having a debate among some friends and we can't agree about something...it's regarding what Alex's spirit animal is; spirit animals were an interesting thing in LIS 1: Rachel's was a doe, so was Max and Chloe was a blue butterfly. I'm convinced Alex's spirit is a black cat...because there are several refences to a black cat in TC...there's the whole DLC clothing you can get with black cats on...there is Valkyrie...the matches Gabe gave you had a cat on them. plus Alex gives off a very loner vibe like a cat...especially with that hair cut. However one of my friends says her spirit animal is a canary because ONE piece of clothing alex has had a canary on it, her default clothing. plus canary's can sing. plus Steph's spirit animal is a bird too so it makes sense they like each other. if anyone can shed some light on this please let me know...honestly i can't see Alex as anything other than a black cat...a canary seems way too happy for someone of her nature. i mean why else would the DLC be black cat clothing?
oh my gosh, i was so certain that if you were going to do any of the life is strange games, true colors would be the last one. i’m super glad to see this!
Excellent choice, great video. I've been wasting time trying to get okay on Horizon: Forbidden West when I should have been playing games like this - I could get lost for hours in this world.
Elijah, please. Just PLEASE. As a huuuge fan of this game, I'm literally begging you, try the original part of the series (or the first one? whatever, It's the same) and then the prequel one after the true colors. It's a priceless artwork with adorable characters and amazing storyline and I swear you're gonna be obsessed with the story and chemistry of the main characters' relationship. They're girls, btw. In short, you will lose your shit for a thousand times 'cause of thousands reasons. By the way, I'm adoring all of your content :) with tonns of love, your Russian fan
Okay, it's been a while but don't they have a 'streamer friendly' music option? Some games with licenced music include extra tracks just to dodge this exact situation! I know Monster Camp did, and I thought True Colours did due to LiS 1 being kinda notorious for how frecking much licenced music it used. :P
I would recommend making reaction videos to these YT videos: Flares (Arcane music video) Don't Remember Me (Arcane fan song) Domino (Arcane fan song) Little Miss Perfect (The Owl House Lumity animatic) Ordinary (The Owl House Lumity fan song/animatic) (Play after Little Miss Perfect)
i love your reaction videos so much!! and now seeing how you playing my favorite game franchise it's just like blessing!! every game from this series absolutelly worth playing
It's so cool that you're playing this game! Honestly, this is my favourite one out of the Life Is Strange series in no small part due to the bisexual representation they have with Alex (you've probably noticed she's bi after reading her past texts as well). They handle it so freaking well in this game and it made me so happy playing through it. The game is just amazing. Can't wait to see the rest of it and your reactions to everything :D
Was hoping you would go with the first one since that was probably the game I got involved with the most i ever played, this one i didnt play yet but I heard its good to if you enjoy it I can only recommend u also try out the first one tho. Cant wait to watch this tho! btw. with the first games of life is strange, or games in general usually u dont get copyright for it when you play them, at least I never saw it in the years of playing games and watching gameplay.
If you're looking for a game to play for an upcoming video I'd love to suggest Gone Home. I don't want to say much about it, but having watched all your Arcane reactions I promise that you will absolutely love it.
It's an awesome game, but surprisingly resource intensive. When I did my let's play (granted, with my old computer), the capture was a bit glitchy and stuttering. It's actually kinda reassuring to see someone who actually knows what they're doing also having similar problems.
If you’re wondering why so many moments of just taking in the environment are in the game, it’s because the Life is Strange games are very slow paced games and are not really meant to just rush through it. So just keep that in mind.
So glad to see you play this game! If you continue the series, I am pretty sure that somewhere in the settings there's an option for the music that is copyright safe. I'm not 100% sure about that, but I'm fairly sure.
