In the previous series, we learned about how MPPT (maximum power point tracking) works. Hopefully, there are no more friends who are lost and misinterpret MPPT.
In this second video, I bought a cheap MPPT directly for experimental purposes. And compared the PowKeeper 20A MPPT with using a 300W stepdown. At the beginning of the video, you may already know the comparison results, but don't forget to pay attention to the story, God willing, it's all meat.
After we study and understand the working principle of MPPT, we can quickly determine whether a solar charge controller product has a tracking unit system or not. So, we don't just guess by looking at the label or coil inductor contained in the SCC unit.
When installing, I didn't make any adjustments to the MPPT Powkeeper 20A, it usually comes with an automatic detection system. And I also already knew that the MPPT Powkeeper default setting is for Lead Acid batteries that same as LifePO4 Configuration.
After the charging test, charging continued in float mode, and I slightly increased the float charging voltage to 14 volts. Previously it was at 13.8 volts.
