Always do enjoy the vids & live streams too. Watching you is real entertainment, there's action, excitement, tense bits, laughs & relaxation too. It's all in there. Thank you Sour! 😊
Why is it so dark on official when I play official on PS4 at night I can see miles with no light source I could see a guy run for a mile away in the dark there's not much of a difference between nvg and no nvg get a better TV or try turn gamma and brightness up if that don't work then your TV is definitely crap
It’s so crazy in this game it is totally possible to have 1000 hours and only a few kills or no kills at all, and it’s what I love about it as well it’s not all run and gun all the time and when you run into someone that adrenaline shot is like no other game out there.
I’ve never had a functional M4 either, at least not in stand alone and only have 3 kills in 1500 hours. Most of my time has been surviving, I usually get killed randomly when I turn a corner not expecting anyone to be there at point blank range, and I scramble to find the right buttons to get my gun out and by that time I’ve been shot dead lol.
Proper night brings a whole new experience to the game that is saddly missing on a lot of community servers. Like most people, when I first started playing DayZ it was on offical servers. I remember seeing a guy sat by a fire in the middle of nowhere. I snuck up to probably within 10 meters of him, watched him cook some food, then snuck off. He never knew.
@@aeriagloris4211 The game takes a lot of trial and error, as well as time to get good at, but its honestly one of my best buys! You can go for days playing with very little excitement (Depending on your playstyle) but when things do kick off, the adrenaline rush is like no other!
Not everyone’s bad in this game and that’s why I like it. Most people will shoot on sight without thought, but the few who don’t are the people I appreciate most. One time I was walking down a road and a fully kitted guy just started talking to me. Asking how my day was, if I need anything from him, stuff like that. Even though I told him I didn’t need anything, he still ended up giving me a revolver(I was a fresh spawn). David reminds me of him. People can be amazing. Remember that Sour. I love your content. Stay Sweet.
My theory is that the stash belonged to David who collected it over his 1000 hours however grew tired of killing people and decided to just put away everything he had. This way he would be carefree of any need to desperately survive and at the same time limit the killing of players by others since he had the weapons. I believe that is why he was so far inland in just spawn clothes, trying to live life slowly and find a sense of happiness in the lonely world of DayZ. I know it seems far fetched but putting together David's calm demeanour and willingness to leave the game just like that I feel like it may be true and more so I want it to be.
When there’s plenty of hostility and hot conflict in a video game, and the moment when you meet friendly people, it’s a wholesome experience. It got a special feeling to it.
I was doing 1man squad on PUBG once and there was this 3man squad who abducted me and we flew off together on an emergency pickup and separated our ways :D Dropped some loot and they told me to come with them. I think I finished in top 6 and I saw their names in the killfeed on phase 5. (asked one of the guys playername)
This man gives me the reason to binge watch DayZ for hours instead of playing it myself, I feel like I'm in the moment with the guy scared still after 2 years of watching. Keep up the good work Sweet!
I normally don't watch DayZ videos but this one was amazing, I felt like I was watching a movie, the music, the text, the people, the situations, everything was beautiful and exciting. Watching David being so friendly and thinking of him getting killed was driving me crazy. I really enjoyed the video and sorry for the bad english if I wrote something weird.
19:35 This subtitle made my day lol. Being a non-english person, I got confused first, then understood the subtility. Love it. I would have probably said the same thing as this guy
This man really knows how to turn a bit of DayZ into something like an episode out of some series. I was just gonna have a quick look but could not stop watching lol
Me too.. lol.. was getting ready to play some pubg before i know it my xbox shut off (inactivity) while watching this! Wish this game was as fun on console as it is on pc
Me and my wife make our own server so we don't have to deal with all the jerks. We are basically training for either to open our server to everyone or go into normal maps. We've learned a lot on how to survive in this game.
@@OkelOkel-ce9yfif you're asking about the server it's going pretty good. It open to anyone there's no rules cuz it's basically like official just a little bit better. I've only had to ban one person and didn't want to ban him cuz there isn't any rules but he was so toxic to me and my wife and to everyone. Everyone wanted him gone and he pushed my buttons cussing me and my wife out the whole nine yards. So he got the badge of probably being the first person to get ban from a sever that has no rules. Just imagine how bad of a person you have to be in order to get ban from a server with no rules no admin.
It absolutely blows my mind that I was playing this crazy, wonky, unique game 11 years ago, putting well over 1000 hours into it, having moments I can recall to this very day, and here we are in 2022 and people are still enjoying that same rush only a game like DayZ or ARMA can give you. As much as I wish the game could’ve seen a more fleshed out final product, I’m happy to see it get the recognition it deserves
It's way better now then it used to be years ago. They've been dropping quality updates for it every 3 or 4 months now for the last 2 years. I started playing around 1.11 and now it's in 1.18 and it's borderline night and day difference. Cars and zombies are still janky but everything else is phenomenal...
@@mikechapman1360 I think it’s the zombies and the interaction animations that still bring me back 😂 I started playing this bad boy when duping was still a thing, it was like .4 or some shyt. I remember thinking 1.0 was gonna change the entire thing and when it didn’t, I started losing interest after putting thousands of hours into it. That along with losing my squad made it less appealing over time, so it’s dope to see they’ve made improvements
@@mikechapman1360 As someone who started playing when it was still a mod, it's truly amazing how far its come, for years the mod was better than Standalone.
The duo of David and Louie was truly a beautiful thing. I started dying when David said Louie has a clean voice. I'm laying here watching the video at 1 in the morning trying not to fall asleep so I can finish it lmao
I’ll never forget my first ever gunfight in Dayz with my group and another group and we stopped mid firefight because it was nighttime and nobody could see anything. Best and funniest moment I had on dayz
One of the really good friends I met on dayz and ended up adding on discord started as a firefight where my brother and I killed him and he came back and avenged himself. Then we just got sick of the back and forth and became friends instead
I think the craziest thing is you actually found friendly players in official, usually everyone kills on sight or they travel around with you for a couple minutes and then they ask you the deadly question of " you got any friends nearby" and at that point you gotta kill them before they shoot you in the back
I had 6 player interaction yesterday and only 1 was aggressive and ended up killing him. Saw a geared up guy helping an newspawn and had a talk with them. Had a race with an other guy for an m4. And went hunting with 2 Ukrainians that I've met. It really depends on what server you on and what players are on them. But yeah rule number 1 in dayz is Trust no one and always be ready for killing time. U can meet the friendliest mf and they can still backstab you
as a freshspawn I met up with four others in berezino and we ended up traveling for a long while though things went downhill in electro. you see we had low food and this is when I started so as you assume the others didn't know about fishing so we became cannibals and killed and ate any other players we saw unfortunately it's like people picked on about a five man group killing people at the coast. we were hungry and in the police station three of us were on the roof looting and the two others were downstairs but thats when we heard fighting and thought someone got in and attacked so we rushed to help but nope. the guy was starving so he attacked the dude but he survived and we killed the traitor but he died of his injuries and the third guy got scared and ran off, we were later gunned down in a home outside electro. Lol I've been told it sounds like a rdr plot
This is probably one of the best videos I’ve ever watched on RU-vid. The absolute amazing way they designed players in this game. You can either team, betray, or kill instantly. I love it. I NEED to buy this game.
Without letting by the side the fact that your voice are relaxing, calming and kida sweet like David says you know very well to mantain us entertained and we never get bored of the video, no matter if it is long or not, I really really enjoyed it :) good job.
This episode really captured the true essence of DayZ, random friendly encounters, firefights, exploring the unknown, this is what makes this game still as relevant and unique as ever 🖤
What about being killed by bandit squads that plague Dayz console servers? I love this game but it’s starting to get old when all you do is run into groups over and over that are fully geared in official.
On console official servers i have played like 5 times so far, and been just completely murdered by a single person without them saying a word 3 out of 5 of the times.
@@hydro1096 yea mate the Dayz population isn’t how it use to be nine years ago where people actually talked and helped each other and didn’t know every single trick or when a large portion of the player base didn’t how to navigate everywhere. If your playing these days you have to play extremely defensive or aggressive and always be on alert shooting on sight or running away when seeing players because they’ll 9/10 times do the same to you unless it’s a new player or freshie(which can be worse in some circumstances), not to mention how many groups run around in this game nowadays and all the sweats that also play the game. Official is also not that great it’s been updated a lot recently so it’s not as bad as it used to be but it’s still not great I recommend finding a good community server because official takes to much time for very little in terms of rewards.
Well, I have learned a couple of things about DayZ after watching this video. 1. I'm never THAT lucky to find random loot in the woods lol 2. I suck at it. Great vid! Makes me want to play vanilla again.
Its so funny, i always find myself taking time away from this game. Months later I see a video like this and it just revitalizes and motivates me to play again. So many experiences that make this game what it is. Thanks a bunch, loving your content! - Anthony
The interaction you had with David is one of the main reasons I play I love positive interactions and just talking in game with people, my first interaction with other players was like that we traded guns and food and left a city to go our own ways
I remember i had to log off one evening, i wasnt planning to come back to that server, so i met some guy and chatted next to a fire barrel, gave him my gun and ammo, gloves for his freezing hands, i wished him the best of luck before wandering into nowehere to log off. Not a special story, we just shared food around a fire and bantered

These videos are so well put together its unreal, its like watching a movie. The music also really helps to capture the mysterious unexplored and slightly off-putting vibe that DayZ gives.
@@adamhill3397 I have exams coming up and after them me and my friend are gonna play this game for like, an entire day and do loads of exploring. These sorts of videos get me really excited for that experience again.
@@olsterman937 good luck to you and your mates with the exam . Study as hard as you can.... thats all you can do.... Good luck in future life and enjoy gaming 👍
First video Ive ever watched on this channel, and so impressed at the quality of the vids. Very entertaining, didn't get bored at all. Best part is, it doesn't feel or seem staged. Love how relaxing these are. Truly a good creator. This definitely isnt the last video I'll watch on this channel. Keep up the good work friend!
It's been a long time since I've enjoyed watching someone play a game but this video is perfect. The music, your cadence and the perfect amount of commentary and dialogue. Masterpiece
I met a really cool dude from Greece on this game last week (I'm a noob) and he showed me some tip and tricks on going through cities and building clearing and where some good loot is. We eventually screwed up and got overrun and he accidently punched me out. The literal last word I heard was "Oops" and I was dead. TonyAlcoholic, if you ever read this, thank you for being so nice.
i love the fact that you just don't die. That you can fall unconscious. Really rises the nerves and tensions the moment. Very epic. Also the game (without bugs) is very cinematic.
Don't know about other parts of the world, but in Central nad Eastern Europe it is quite popular to add some funny signpost especially on market squares or significant crossroads
Damn I almost cried when David left lol. Hopefully you guys run into one another again. He's such a nice person, as are you. The first and last person I decided to trust outside my friend group shot me in the back after about 2 hours of rolling together. I usually shoot everyone else I see, or I just avoid people all together.
Absolutely feel you. I just recently started playing just a few days ago. On my first day; someone helped me take down a zombie, offered to patch up a wound in a building then finished me off when we got in. So, now, I dont trust a single player I meet.
I avoid & watch them , I love the realistic nature of this one sometimes I follow someone just to see what they're doing , kinda hunt them but never engage ,
Haven't played in a couple of years - started again recently. Saw a guy yesterday, struggling with about 10 zombies. I charged in and helped him out. We waved at each other, said hello - everything seemed fine. I ran into a nearby house to eat/bandage, and I became aware of someone entering the room behind me... I was about to turn around, when suddenly there was a loud pop...and that was the end of me 😢
@@cmdrreggit Sounds like dayz bro. I remember when I first started I had just looted a spawn town, planted zuchinis in the greenhouse and had a load of seed packets left over. Ran into a no mic freshy so I took him to the greenhouse, showed him my work, dropped some seeds and my hoe then he killed me with it to get my shotgun. I was a huge noob at this point and unaware of this games etiquette
God what a flashback and yeah i totally agree. I feel like Sour has found the magic that frankie used to have. I wonder if sour grew up watching Frankie too 😂. Sour keep it up we need more content like this!
When I first started playing DayZ, I learned on the official servers, putting in hours and hours of dying to hunger and random players along the shoreline. Looking back, It was one of the best experiences I've ever had and really gave a challenge to survive. "As always" amazing content.
@@jefflund9134 that's why me and my bro don't stash loot except for things like NBC clothes. Stashing your loot or making a base isn't worth it in official. Even without cheaters, you're always gonna get that random player finding your stash / base and looting it.
I don't why, perhaps the combination of editing and music, but around the 20:00 when you meet that "friend" it made me so happy, both of you had the same opinions has to how to play and approach other players, such a nice talk you had. I hoped you played together for the rest of the video. Great gameplay.
Me reading the title: "Oh it's a new Sour Video. Wonder what challenge it's gonna be." I tried to survive on official "Well that was his first mistake." As a Solo "well he's screwed" Also Kilroy was Here
This is incredible! I really feel like I'm watching a movie or something and the music is just so well placed and thought out. I can really tell you have a deep passion for this sorta thing man. Well done!
When I was in the military the joke about the P1 was that you have 8 warning shots (the ones in the magazine) and 4 lethal ones (when you disassemble it and throw the parts)...
@@sonicartzldesignerclan5763 If someone is clearly scanning for players with gun in hand or sprinting around a tree line with a gun, it wouldn’t be best to approach them trying to talk lmao. He essentially means that he knows when to kill people and when to interact.
@@itzzjozef1373 I always carry my rifle but I wouldn't kos a friendly, scanning for players with your long scoped weapon could just be a careful players alternative to binos
I have been playing dayz since it came out on xbox , and my advise to new players is always play offical . Its hardcore and unforgiving which is the true essence of dayz .
Exactly bro, and I have a $4,000 gaming pc, but I can’t stop playing on my Xbox series X because of how hardcore it is online. LA 4287(1st Person Only), is my home server, but I’ve been playing the NY Livonia one now a lot.
usually i have a really short attention span and i dont even play dayz but i have been watching your hour long videos without realising so much time has passed. great storytelling
Sour, you probably have had the best official run ive ever seen. Not to mention the luck you had with that zeleno tree fire fight! Keep up the great work man! o7
Hey Sour, just found your channel by your newest vid to the new DayZ Update and I am binge watching u. Meetin David was so wholesom! I am so greatful that there are still good people out there on the official servers. And as David I think you have a lovely relaxing voice! Thank your for your content!
thats because of bases like the one at the end. some no lifers scrooging up all the loot, so only things that spawn are shit weapons. Thats the thing that killed the game mainstream besides the 8 year alpha state.
@@pr0faker weapon spawn limits have been removed a while ago, and the game certainly hasn’t been “killed mainstream” because the player numbers have been steadily rising for years
@@un1d It HAS been killed mainstream since the group of people playing this game is tiny vs real mainstream games. I know the times when Dayz was THE game that was played, was streamed and it wasn't even done yet, but like I said it was like 8 years ago. Is that superbad for the game, probably not but it took too long to keep a lot of gamers that did enjoy the game even then to keep playing the game. If the limits are lifted, thats a good thing, didn't know that but again, too little too late for a lot. The game is in a pretty decent state right now but I won't get to her former glory days.
I cannot stop binge watching your Day Z videos 🙂 your editing, the music, your narration and how you interact with other players is pure genius. thank you for this awesome content!!!
This is my first time watching one of your videos, but this is the best editing that I have seen in a very long time. You have done to good keep it up😊
I've been playing DayZ since Standalone and have only ever played vanilla. I'm considering giving modded a go but I just love the realism of vanilla too much ❤️ Nice video Sour, you really brought out feelings and anticipations you get when playing and delivered it to the viewer perfectly. Great job man 👏🏽
I cannot suggest modded enough. Some mods will def take away the realism, but some don't do much but add different weapons, or different clothing, even different food. Test around in different community servers. They add so much more to the game.
Sometimes the more modded it is, the less this game seems to be. Vanilla let’s you appreciate most of other aspects of the game (besides only or being heavily centred around PVP).
Met a guy once. He was cool and didn’t know a lot about the game. I taught him some stuff. Even gave him the lock codes to my big compound so he could come and go as he pleased. Dude was totally cool. We played together for a couple weeks and I guess we just moved on. Wherever you are SkydiveHal, you’ll always be in my heart. I’ll never forget the night we met and how fun it was to pal around on DayZ.
Great content your the reason I kept on playing... just downloaded over the weekend. I play only on official servers since the start and i love it... having a blast running into other players too even if they usually just shoot on sight
Man just found your channel have been watching your vids all day! Really enjoy the content I’m new to DayZ and was just looking for inspiration on how to play it better and found my new favorite binge lol keep up the great content mate!
More solo vids like this please Sour! I love the unpredictability of the solo experience. Maybe set yourself some goals at the start to give them some direction. How about survival on a really hardcore massive pop zombie server??
Hey Sour, hope you’re doing great? I’m only halfway through this video and absolutely love it! This reminds me of why I subscribed to you in the first place. Great entertainment! I hope this brings in more subscribers. Thanks for the great work you do! 👍
Another masterpiece! Thanks for the hours of free entertainment Sour! Btw David is right your voice is so soothing for some reason. No wonder I watch your videos right before bed. Cheers from TN, 🇺🇸!
I must say that i agree with your "friend" David, your voice and way of speech is very soothing, you talk very nicely and calmly and i feel like i am listening to a bedtime story LMAO. just excellent, keep it up matey ;-)
David is correct Sour. You do have a very relaxing voice. One of the reason I got stuck watching your videos. Keep up the awsome content.#nohomo#notagianstiteither
I love the official vanilla servers, if they would make the nights a teeny tiny bit brighter and made it so your character remembers your own 4digit code lock without having to fiddle for 3 minutes each time you open your base then i would never leave the vanilla servers. I absolutely love the scarcity of stuff. The amount of firefights + loot you found is more than I'd find in a week or two. I see combat so rarely I seek it out nowadays and open bases like that you can forget about. Haven't seen a base like that since early base building dayz and that one was at the end of the map enclosed in walls. Bravo.
I love how this game lives up to all of your expectations about humanity haha. You find some great, helpful players or some real bad peeps. Either way. Fun game regardless
