1 mg a day and having issues is very rare. That’s an extremely low-dose. As noted he has had prior heart issues and probably shouldn’t have taken this drug to begin with. Most who have issues with this drug take over 10 mg a day. I take between 5 mg Dash 10 mg a day and have no issues for the past four months Everyone is different and more people will complain about a drug than those who report no issues

The fact your click baiting on such a topic really pisses me off, because many guys just looking at this won’t take it and they will loose there hair don’t click bait on such matters

I feel that tele-health services are very eager to give out medications to patients instead of taking a step back and think carefully who they are giving the medications to. However, I do experience that in person physicians in the US are very eager to give out medications to patients.

Wow really sorry to hear u had sides I use oral minoxidil 2.5mil a day +1 mil Finasterside a day and it’s been a game changer for me with NO side effect !

I was using it for more than a year to slow down the hair loss. It was 0.5mg of minoxidil and 0.5 finasteride, and after a year they increased the dosage to 1mg… After a few months of using the new prescription I’ve noticed my heart playing up without exertion, no chest pain, something like an air bubble, skipping a beat, I’d had to readjust my breathing to make it better. I’ve stopped it, day three and I still feel the glitch. Be careful !🇦🇺

Topical goes systematic as well bud, low dose oral would not show any more sides as topical

Im taking oral minox 10mg everyday for over a month ,prior to that , i was taking 5mg ,but i didnt see much improvment on my transplanted haiar ,but switching to 10 mg , im starting to see more density on my middle and crown area .Im also on dutasteride 0.5 mg for well over a year .No sides effects whatsoever on oral minoxidil

I had same effect. Then I split my dosage into two. 1.25 twice a day. Also took a diuretic in the beginning.. Not anymore. No more side effects. Also, for dizziness.. take it late at night, before sleep

One thing I would correct is that oral minoxidil when it was used for blood pressure was used at significantly higher doses with anti hypertensive agents can start from 2.5mg but went all the way up to 40mg sometimes even more. People started noticing side effects around the higher dosage range but then again everyone is different. That’s why it’s so important to discuss with your physician before you start taking any medications. I’m personally on 2.5 mg minoxidil and have been for almost 2 years with no known side effects. very good explanation, and your statement "everyone is different" should always be stressed when we talk about medicine / illness in any way. We just got thru a pandemic that killed some people in a matter of weeks, and many others didnt even know they were infected. Talk about running the gamut. That said, there is a paper online featuring treatment with oral minox at 2.5mg (along with finasteride and other things) involving 16,000 Asian men. This was at a clinic (most certainly 'for profit'), not a university - so that could 'influence' reporting when it comes to the downsides. And there's no mention at all about heart side-effects for apparently anyone. Strange, cover-up, truthful, who knows? But you'd think they'd have an obligation to report people who dropped out due to heart side-effects. Plus not doing so if they indeed knew it did in a substantial % of patients could get them sued (would in the US). And if you're derma-rolling, the main purpose of that is supposedly to increase absorption of the Minox (to perhaps systemic levels - 1ml of Topical apparently equals about 1mg of oral based on other vids I've seen). So if you're dermarolling, getting good results and not experiencing and issues, that would seem to be the ideal solution for you.

I take 5mg and pretty suddenly started having chest pain after 4 years of taking it. Went to ER twice and doctors said everything looks fine, both times. Not one dr said hey, stop taking these pills. I figured it out on my own and after one day of stopping feel 60% better. I now still have this milder chest pounding and I’m hoping it vanishes over time. Improvement has flatlined and I’ve just been stuck with this mild chest pain now.

Hi, I had the exact symptoms, after using topical 5% , its worst , I have thrown it away.

Do not take oral minoxidil in the morning, take it the evening when you are done for the day. I noticed the dizziness and tiredness too but I have no side effects now that I take it at night before bed or with dinner.

same thing happened to me man. i stopped after a few months. Felt dizzy and had terrible heart burn. Felt like i was going to pass out.

You MUST half dose for a week and after that, if you’re tolerant, increase to regular dose.

I just started it and have had similar experience within days. I am going to try halving it and cutting my caffeine back.

This is the same thing as taking to much salt in the body you will get the same side As oral minoxidil. as I made some research is best taking it at night while your not doing active activities won’t get heart palpitations there also an water pill to flush any water or salt retention.

Hello, I've been using 0.5 dutasteride a day for 1 year, I got the expected effect all over my hair, even in my crown area, new hair appeared, but I did not get the effects I expected in my front temple area. My question is, if I add 2.5 mg of oral minoxidil a day and continue on my way with dutasteride and quit oral minoxidil after 2 years, if I continue with dutasteride continuously, will the hair grown by oral minoxidil fall out? This is the most important question for me because of the fear of oral minoxidil, I would be very grateful if you could answer me.
