Having watched this and smants first runs, streamer luck is real. Some god tier items on D luck, two masterballs, mega bracelet and 3 mega stones? Dang.
My guy got the mega band and 3 different mega stones like holy shit dude save some luck for the rest of us(Jk i pulled a Heatran from my first egg ticket I stole all the luck)
My first run before I knew there was a 'retry lost fights' option or just refreshing to start over, I made it all the way to [insert spoiler-free end-boss here] and got absolutely smacked by the second phase lol. Then it took me like 6 tries to get there again. I had gotten a golden punch (50% of damage dealt gained as money) extremely early on and put it on my main sweeper and that had single-handedly carried the entire run lol. Constantly struggling to afford heals each run after that feltbadman
Just a thought, but I think you should upload full streams for a game in this format instead of edited shorter vids. Idunno perhaps only on the other channel
You can find the full vid if you want it on his twitch channel. The first win one is under "Recent Highlights and Uploads" in 2 parts, and him streaming it later is under Recent Broadcasts. Or it seems to be mostly complete I think, the first vid seems to start right after he picks his first attempt starters so a little cut off at the beginning.
My biggest criticism of Pokerogue over other Pokémon roguelikes is that your success chance in a run is entirely governed by early shop choices. Clearing the first 20 floors without a good TM drop or a legendary item is a lottery, and without any egg vouchers to get access to the broken moves your chances of making meaningful progress is low. So the entire first 10 hours of playing is just running into an RNG roadblock until it breaks or you quit.
So many salty people in disbelief that someone could be THAT much better than them at Pokemon lol, love it. Your RNG wasnt even that crazy, especially given that you didnt "grind" any good starters like intended.
To be clear, the AI "cheating" against you going over lv200 is just the final boss doing double damage to you. "Just", as if that's not an insane multiplier on top of an already insane fight. Not quite sure why they bothered with that mechanic, honestly?
I feel like chat forgets Chris plays Pokemon for a living. Ended up with such a solid team with good amount of luck, seeing all the doubters was crazy. Seeing so many people projecting their own insecurities on the streamer was pretty cringe, and calling the rival fight before it even started. just cause you had a hard time with this game doesn't mean everyone else did. Git gud.
