I tried the Mickelson flop shot (with mixed results!) 

Phil Mickelson has popularised this shot - the so-called flop shot. It pops up very high, goes a short distance and stops quickly, which makes it a useful one to have in your locker. But it's tricky to play, quite high-risk! I spent some time on the short game green, trying this shot, and got mixed results.
