They should use a system like guild wars 2 structured PvP, everyone has availability to same gear, but choice differences and open world gear means nothing.
Every PVP mode needs its own balancing, never know why modern games never see this and solve for it up front. Even New World has started solving for that awhile back where in PVP abilities are different than PVE. You cannot balance PVP unless you stat level first though, so that has to be step one.
I miss Lineage 2: The classes were all unique, everyone played everything(even though some were better than others), and some were race locked which made the game even cooler and more unique. I fucking miss old school NCSoft…

I always see people bitch and complain about race/gender locked classes, but if it’s done right and they are truly unique(not in a superficial way) then that will make the game better than most other MMOs! I used to play the human Dark Avenger(how fucking cool does that sound?!) and although Paladin was the better tank, Dark Avengers could summon a fucking Panther and siphon life! Then there’s the Dark Elf Bladedancer that would dance with their dual swords to buff the party. Or the Dwarven classes that consist solely of crafters and gatherers. Or the Elven Temple Knight that could summon cubics to assist them in battle. Oh, and the Orc Warcry could chant to empower themselves and their party. Anyway my point is that they could reclaim their glory days if they just get their heads out of their fucking asses and stopped focusing so incessantly on monetization.
Idk. My experience with arena is completely different than yours. From my point of view if I have 2 wand users on my team they are unkillable yes but after a certain amount of ladderpoints people are built well to resist the sleep or just have builds to counter their 1 burst combo anyway. For example, alot of sns-greatswords at my elo just have like 1.4k+ magic evasion ignore the paladins and burst the dps. Because paladins only have one burst window and it’s soo long (+ its rng) they can’t do anything, even worst when the dps on the enemy team dodges it all. The stealth cringe for points needs to go though.
@@SooooNerdy This is why i prefaced my explanation with “My experience”. It’s from my point of view and is just a counter view from Kanon’s. Neither of us are wrong. And after playing even more arena today I see more and more people adapting to wand+sns. I litterally was on a team with 2 dagger crossbows on my team who had over 2kmag evasion. We were vs 2 sns-wand and a greatsword-dagger. The crossbows carried me and didn’t die a single time and farmed the greatsword player.
PvP is what makes and breaks games, I wish devs would learn this. Games with esports stay around for over a decade, meanwhile something with mediocre pvp doesn’t have good enough PvE elements usually to keep players. It has happened with countless MMOs thatve come out.
Ia hard for an MMO today, since players compared it to moms like wow, FF, gw2 that been around for more than 10 yrs. And they had a lot of time to polish
@@demianpelos It's only hard because every freaking MMO TRIES to be the NEXT WoW or the next FF14 which they never will be. Also EVERY mmo that has came out FAILED in the WEST cause of P2W only MMO that survived for a long while here in the west was/is Black Desert Online sense its a game you can leave going whilst at work, sexing your wife, exercising. Also the reason we compare it to WoW and FF14 is cause first most at the front is CONTENT aka raids, dungeons, pvp, etc. whilste a lot of mmos that failed was cause they didn't care about the game they only cared about how much money they can make from microtransactions and once they made enough money they stop caring about the game.
@@Titan.Fox56 that's why I think gw2 did amazing balancing that. Paying for expansion or cosmetics and you can buy and sell currency. (Plus combat is f amazing) Pvp and wvw are separate thing that is great.

Throne just allows players to outright buy currency not buy 500 different rng boxes in the cash shop for u to gamble for cron stone bundles or artisans to repair ur crap. Also any mmo can have content giving 10 years and 10 expansions lmao. @@IsaiahBailey-l3f You can buy Arch boss weps with cash 1-2k . Arch boss weps can 1 shot players. Auction House only takes lucent, and you can buy lucent. 100$ for 5k lucent.
yep, discouraging combat kills arenas. Some of you might remember when blade n soul came a while back... the thief class would just freeze you and re-invis and run away. They would do this until the timer ran out and they'd win by points.
I think the best pvp I have experience in an mmo is in lost ark. You get all abilities and skill all classes have their uses. You don’t need to level or own the weapons. Level and gear does not matter. I love the heavy emphasis on skill in their pvp. Sadly lost ark flopped
This better come out Day 1 or at the VERY LEAST the first Month of release, no one is gunna wanna come back to the game to play Arenas 1 Year into the game.... Im actually generally curious how far back the game is gunna be for Global release, like Lost Ark was..... that could be very bad. They need to make us be atleast within 1 month of KR release for them to release whatever for Global!

in my opinion.. every classes have weaknesses and strength.. xbow with archboss weapon are broken but will die to GS in one shot with their stun and CC😵💫 , same with other classes..depends which one to counter..., also you need skills to dodge / block etc..
OFC there almost no PvP :D I were playing last time GW2 around 2 month ago. Yes seages , castles. But almost dead PvP. Its on repeat. Not bad at all. But not great. I was protecting whole castle for an hour from 10+ players. Is that amazing PvP?

Fun, they could've equalized the arena and made it competitive. It's just going to be the same 1-3 meta builds 😂. 13 years in development, and they're still struggling to make the right decisions.
Eh, idk if you've been playing much but NCSoft surprisingly is making great decisions with the game, they missed the mark here but also said they probably would before launching it. Now its to see how they take the feedback.
not rly im Lineage2 player and my favourite thing is to hunt donators as f2p they are piece of sht :) but yeah ppl are soft nowdays and they are insulted someone got somethin faster than them nowdays :p

diablo 2 has some of the best pvp of all time and allows people to use any gear they want.. i think if there isnt like super overpowered items then allowing people to use different gear is overall fine and makes pvp more interesting because different gear may open up totally new skill options that wouldnt of been viable otherwise.
The problem is, they will balance a game designed for mass PvP for an instanced 3v3 arena where there is no other content for a party of three people. Great... like Lost Ark PvP or worse, FF14 PvP, which is totally a piece of shit because your character is completely different when you PvP in these games.
i love a "mostly" fair arena ranked pvp experience in an mmo. I do like the idea that gear influences stats in an mmo. NOT something like call of duty etc. I like this because i dont want the game to become a matchmaking simulator. having to force players to play all aspects of the game to become the most elite ranked arena pvp'er is a good move. it means they TRULY are the top tier players in the mmo at the time. in pvp and pve most likely. they are the elite, they worked for it etc. mmo's arent designed to be a completely fair environment, gear is always supposed to trump most things. idk... just my random two cents. love the videos tho and especially you standing up to nexon at that conference, cool stuff
I think the lack of balance first comes from trait/bonuses/stats and passives. Remember when game came out, we had different type of "hit" trait ,ranged,melee,magic and they removed it, hit trait now work for all 3 types, why the heck didn't they do the same for evasion and endurance ? Of course doing so will make evasion too strong, all they'll have to do is reduce the evsasions values from trait and gear pieces, and repeat the process for endurance. As for the dogshit CCs in this game, being CC locked for 10 sec + is stupid. Why not take example of how CC work in black desert online ? Add a CC count and when you reach the max CC count on your target then he becomes immunes against CC for 3-5secondes. Then they'll have to look into passives skills for every weapon. Because why the heck GS is the only weapon to give a passive wich boost your hit stat by a huge amount ?
Its clear NCSoft want TL to be PVE main game, so this optional pvp content will be just as dead as it is in Lost Ark. If you don't equalize it you have whales 1 shotting everyone, if you equalize it you get the broken and OP weapon balance where some builds/weapons will dominate, and I guarantee you that they won't try to balance every skill and everyone weapon for this optional PVP content. its already broken enough weapon balance in open world PVP that they havent been able to fix and balance properly. Overall arenas will be fun for 1-2 months, then fall into obscurity and become optional content for whales to boost their egos on f2p players.
That looks very boring, an empty field and then it’s a numbers game. There is no winning condition, no baiting or ambushing the enemy, no outsmarting, no situational problem solving.
I think they are trying to make something close to Aion PvP and blade and soul PvP, that you have to farm gear for pvp, and spend a lot of money with enchantments. Someone with better gear will always win against you, doesn't matter your skills. And this thing about holding points is stupid. The team with more kills should win.
Yea always WoW's like that you can't expect to go into arenas with full green pvp honor gear and face someone who has full conquest pvp gear and win. How I know this? cause I tested it myself on paladin and it didn't go so well I still fought hard and skillfully but the opponent had better gear and I was just getting hit hard this was BEFORE the plate specialization nerf in arenas and battlegrounds. I don't know I MIGHT give this game a go but with it being made by NCsoft who is notorious for having P2W in their games makes me second guess if to play it or not.
TBH I have never liked that kind of "3v3 or 5v5" arena matches in MMORPGs... 1v1 or GvG must be the rule. It's just too much luck-based. If you join a whale team, good for you. Otherwise, bad for you. Too unbalanced.
First time dealing with NCSoft making PvP arena, right? All it will end up with is strong class division by S tier classes x3-4 and the rest being completely unplayable garbage. Say hello to BnS and bury any hope about this game mode.
I kept saying they need to rework how heal scales. what could go wrong when the more damage you have the stronger your heals are? Wis should be useful and be the heal stat. Also equalize this damn arena
No classes, PvP system that lets you use your main gear meaning P2W players will have an upper hand, mediocre combat and a gacha monetization system. RIP this game at release 🤣
nononononon DONT even try balance game around ARENAS!!!!! Dont make same mistake as Blizzard with WoW. WORST part of game when ARENA come out and kids start crying about arena balance. As result in wow no more balance. But we have seasonal swings. A B C between specs and classes. Same will be here is you will try balance Solo PvP Group MASS and Arenas.
i dont understand why players want pvp to be purely skill while all ragnarok games out there, their pvp/WoE is very hardly heavily P2W and no one even ever complain about it.
classless/doubleweapon is the worst and most boring system i've ever seen in an mmorpg. not only is bad but devs will have an headache when trying to balance the game... just throw the idea away and bring unique classes cmon ncsoft
I hope the Dev's would follow the idea of UnDecember where every class can equip 1 weapon but the catch is its up to you to build your own skill gameplay depending on the skills you'll loot and power ups passives to further enhance the looted equipped skills.
In BDO arena battlefield its the same as everyone has there own gear and you can enter with low gear and go against someone with high gear WHATS THE DIFFERENCE like i was a geared SORC and can kill 15 people not die and get away 😂 or if i was a geard dp meme straker and someone entered low gear and was a ranger? bro thats basicly everything i hear about the game "this is bad, but they made it better." literally on every single topic youtubers talk about this game. it has me confused and hesitant about this game because the west will always be the afterthought region or the beta testers for china launch in regards to MMORPGs. why cant they just release something and its GOOD because someone that knows what theyre doing and what is fun has been working on it? especially with ncsoft i see them making the same shit "mistakes" they did 15 years ago with aion and beyond. i will test this, but im reluctant to spend on this because ncsoft has to trust back first and if you fall behind without the 30€ worth of monthly subscriptions i can at least say i didnt waste my money on this.
