Exactly. I quit the drying machine 20 some yrs ago, and my hair is so healthy because of it. AND I don't use any products but maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Made it healthier yet.
@@Arianna4245 Air dry. I plan ahead and wash hair in the evenings and it’s usually dry by the time I go to bed. Sometimes not, no biggie. I either use a tie or a clip it loosely when sleeping. I do have an oily scalp that’s always been on the extra oily side and I may go through the winter and wash every other day but that’s not often.
@@Arianna4245 I use soft piece of cloth or towel, but I prefer cotton cloth, the bigger the cloth is the better for me. I plan ahead too, I also got oily scalp so I need to wash my hair after every 2 days, well in a rush I just dry as much as water I can and get a back clip and clip my hair until it's dry.

The hack was definetely not the problem... but the way you blow dry is actually crazy💀 either air dry or diffuse if you're losing patience Edit: tf is wrong with yall? People are trying to tell me I don't have curly hair because of this?. I'm black and I have 3b-3c curls... go bother other people I just wanted to help her jesus
1. Use less products and use in this order: curl cream, gel/mousse and then serum after scrunching and drying completely. Gonna save time and money and not confuse your hair. 2. Don't leave hair in the wrap for so long! It's not good for any hair type. 30 mins max. 3. Use a diffuser on high heat, high speed or as you like it for drying completely. 4. Instead of ice cold water, just rinse your hair with cold water after washing and conditioning. All these tips are from a curly hair stylist.
@user-cw3vx5kq1t there is an attachment for the hair dryer that spreads the air out into gentle streams rather than a direct stream of air whipping the hair around.
y'all, im a hairstylist AND have long very curly hair... the blowdryer is NOT the issue. You can clearly see her curls are not well defines even before she puts her hair in the towel. Also, there are 100% ways to diffuse hair with heat that retain the definition of the curl without causing any frizz. It's all about using the right products for your hair, and using the right techniques
@@3rmmwhattYES absolutely!! the weight of the hair will pull the curl down and stretch it out, which is why diffusing is such an important part of styling long curly hair, you're literally lifting the hair up to counteract the weight of the length while it dries!
hii! i have curly hair but even when it is dripping wet i see frizz in it. i have tried many ways to style it but when i get to the end when i am putting gel, there is always frizz. pls lmk how to fix this!! i have 2b to 3a hair
@@akshara_aestheticsit depends on what porosity your hair is (which is more complicated testing it than just seeing if a strand of your hair floats in water or not). For the most part, if your hair is dry (dry is what makes hair frizzy), then moisturize it. It doesn’t happen overnight, but going to a curly hair stylist and consistency is what worked best for me. Trust me, I had the most untameable hair *EVER*. With consistency, it doesn’t seem like any improvement for the time being, but then you look back and notice everything that’s changed. While you’re at it, watch videos from ACTUALcurly hair stylists and figure out what you need to do for your hair to look the best. God bless💗✝️
@@sambright3719 lmao no we need to leave products in curly hair so they don't become frizzy and they look better.. that's the whole reason we them in the first place.
Some tips, that can help (I am interested in hair care for many years) 1. Trim your hair (even a little can help) 2. By the look of your hair when it's dry, i assume that you have too many hydrating products in your rutine. Try doing wash day with a mask/conditioner that is purely emolient - has a lot of DIFFERENT oils and butters 3. Try avoiding products with glicerin in it 4. Use a little bit of serum with silicones to finish your styling
This gel might highly contribute - doesnt it have a lot of glicerin in it? If you care about Frizz control you nieed a lot of emolient (that suits your hair, not cocnut oil) and protein, not glicerin. It over moustrise your hair, "soaks" moisture to your hair from air and you have frizz! Try to learn about protein-humectant-emolient balance more
Hey a bave curly hair and never applied cgl just always tie them, and i don't want to use soo many products on my hair can you please help me with hiw to start or build the routine 😊
@@STILLDECIDING128 what porosity your hair is? Is it coloured or natural? What length? How does your rutine look like now? What do you use and how does your hair react?
Youve gotten a lot of good advice in these comments. Theres a numbered one in here from a professional stylist that actually resembles my method as someone who has tamed their curls over the past 15yrs. However i think your curls actually need some structure. And in curly hair care that actually just means protein. And not super strong protein because we dont know your hair history, but blow drying shouldnt completely undo the curl structure. Just enough protein to give your hair the strength to hold its curly shape. So PROTEIN TREATMENTS: DR Miracles protein pack is the easiest way to go. Its strong and mixes well with other conditioner. Take whatever conditioner you use and apply a little after your wash. Seperate your hair into 4 sections and add the Dr Miracle protein to each section. Add a bit more conditioner to keep it soft and let that sit in your hair for a few Hours likew 1-2 (people say 30 minutes, but that isnt enough time for everyone, just check your hair periodicaly, if it feels like the texture is getting dry or rough rinse it out) After you rinse, add a bit more conditioner (i use suave naturals in the green bottle) and only rinse out like 50-75%. Then WHILE YOUR HAIR IS SOAKING WET Add in your leave in conditioner Then curl cream/styling cream Then a gel/mousse if you still need it Then you can put your hair in a towel and let some of the water drip out for like 1 hour. -- If you HAVE to blow dry for time (only blow dry for time sake) then do it while your hair is still wet, and i used to use the damp towel to cup my hair like a diffuser and hold the curls while blowing them on low air flow, high or medium heat. Blow dry JUST ENOUGH for them to not be soaking wet -- Otherwise Take it down from the towel atter an hour and let it air dry the rest of the way. Dont blow dry if you can help it. When its 80-90% dry go ahead and add your oil/serum for shine.
I find that plopping for too long actually makes coarse hair more frizzy. I much prefer to style with a denman brush, plop for 10 minutes just to remove the excess water, then either blow dry with the hover method or air dry. Also, I really suggest applying a bit of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil to seal the ends after blow drying, it really helps taming the frizz.
If you have naturally curly hair you don't need alot of products, wash with shampoo, use leave in conditioner and use a hairspray that fights humidity and frizz. I live in a climate with 95% humidity I'm always surprised how much products American youtubers use. This girl's hair is weighed down by product, hair looks damaged cos of how she blow dryer ir and her curls are not even bouncy
Your hair was good when it was wet until you blowed dry it. That causes frizz. Curly hair is blow dried by diffuser extension. Then it will be worth it 😊 Edit : I never thought I’d get attention with my advice by getting this many likes
Ive heard a few times that ice cold is not good for your hair. You should try a temp between lukewarm and cool. Let it airdry and you will notice a huge difference. Blow drying defeats the purpose of the cool water rinse as it opens the shaft again.
@@jackiewackie-y2 i have no idea why either but i mean, the water wouldn't turn black lol, i feel it would be common to think it is just her dark hair in the bowl lol, but yeah, idk why they just went 🙄
@@rats445 exactly I hate people that try to correct other people on thier Grammer like girl plz you rlly thought you ate? Cause you didn't like they sound sooo stupidddd
There's not enough time in a day for this, unless you're retired or get paid to sit around reading books all day 😅. I'm sorry I'm just a curly hair don't care kinda woman. I use petroleum jelly most of the year to control frizz; in the summer I add a little flexible mousse, and that's it. Air drying with gentle tossing and holding of tendrils is the best way I have personally found for my mermaid-hair type. I never scrunch actually. Even if this hack worked for frizz, wouldn't the blow dryer cause static?

My mom use to do this when washing my hair as a kid. In the black community we call it “closing your pores” . You don’t have to do ice water, just use really cold water and rinse your conditioner out with the cold water. It will seal in the conditioner. Then add some oil. Oil is a sealant and will add an extra layer of sealing in the hydration from conditioner and the moisture from the water. If you get super oily hair consider using serum sealant like John Freida anti frizz . It’s great for blow outs too and def defuse vs blow drying! 🫶🏽
I miss my long hair bc a hair stylist did cut my hair off into a bob i just wanted a trim tho and seeing this makes me wanna cry girl your hair is beautiful 🥲
That’s me when I’m trying to get the ice from the bottom of my McDonald’s cut but I shake it and the ice jump scares me and all the ice lands on my face b attempts to do it again-
if her hair was shorter it'd probably be curlier. the longer your hair is the heavier it is, so if you don't have a tight curl pattern the curl wont hold and you get wavier looking hair.

With a woman with curls.... What Ive learned is that you have to start at the scalp to make your curls pop and only doing the hair will make it frizz. I mean you clearly have to put to hair stuff in but do it from root to tip not just the hair. Let it air dry and bam your curls will pop. But dont touch your hair after doing it. Let it be... Bur it also depends on the hair stuff you use as well... Your hair is thick and healthy Very pretty...
Hey girl start using real henna if u have problem with curly hair frizzines. It helped me immensily and my hair are more shiny now and have a deeper color. Check it!
Your hair might not like cold water what you should do is put one strand of hair in a cup of water and if it raises all the way to the top then that means it’ll maybe consider hot water more then cold water cold water can irritate your curls and cause damage. I can tell by how long your hair is that you used to take care of it or it’s maybe because you’re changing your products it’s not good to change your products every single day you should maybe stick to the same product that grew your hair or your hair liked. I hope this helps
Maybe apply the product on the outside layer too, not just the underneath layer. Also, it takes 3 rounds of wearing it curly for the curls to come back if you straighten it all the time.
tip! don’t automatically flip your hair up try rolling your head from facing forward and down to your ear then SLOOOOOWLLYYYY up! it can help a lot it’s helped a fellow curly girly ( me )
