I’m from Taiwan and I love preserved eggs, they go well with tender tofu and thick soy sauce, and you can add some bonito on top of them. It’s kind of strange in Taiwan to eat preserved eggs without any ingredients, and that’s why you guys don’t like the smell and taste haha 😂

Preserved duck egg from Taiwan is a Chinese delicacy and isn’t 300 years old, it’s preserved in ash and other things in it’s shell for a few weeks to change the flavour and is best eaten hot, also the black fungus is fine and can be put in soup, remember mushrooms are fungus too. At this point you’re just Americans hating on foreign food which you don’t understand, other nationalities eat this stuff fine, westerners need to be more open minded about food.
