I Tried The World's Worst COD as A New Player... (2024) 

the movement on the game was top teir. moving around like a maniac on das haus is one of the funnest things on cod.

This game suffered from the fact that there’s just no winning with the COD community sometimes. People were irrationally angry that COD was going back to WW2. Then they were angry when Sledgehammer decided to embrace the weird and add fun nonsense to the game. Click on any Vanguard video from a big creator and expect to see the same unfunny, unoriginal joke in the comments. “My grandpa fought the Nazis with his laser gun, alongside Sgt. Snoop Dogg!” It’s miserable. I unironically love this game more than MW3. I like that its MP is WW2-adjacent themed, so it looks and feels like WW2 but plays like a fever dream with its Snoop Doggs and its anime waifus and its 10 gun attachments. Most of the maps are actually great, especially the Pacific Theater maps, but especially DAS HAUS. The MW3 one is okay, but not as great as the OG. I love how jarringly fast the TTK is. Combined with the crackhead movement and unhinged respawn, we get some hilariously chaotic matches. I love that you pointed out the sound design, because it really is great. The guns are so satisfying to shoot in this game. Zombies got even more hate than the MP, but the Zombies community is somehow more annoying than the main community, so who cares what they think. When it launched, it only had the one non-linear map with the central hub area and objectives to complete. People hated that. I think Zombies would have been better received if it had a round-based map at launch, alongside the one with the hub. I actually like the one with the hub. Kinda gives it a dungeon crawler feel. I like that Vanguard Zombies was thematically dark and creepy. But I’d probably go back to Cold War Zombies, to be honest. We’re still here in 2024, so if you’re bored of MW3, and looking for the dumbest (in the best way possible) COD, this is it.

i dont think the multiplayer struggled as much as the poor zombies did, then again i dont play cod multiplayer so i wouldnt know, but i know that the zombies is ass

The game really just had an identity crisis. If they never said, "It's set in WW2" then I think the game would have been a little higher on the list for me. What ruined it was the lack of "WW2" if that makes sense. The moment they started adding anime bundles, neon colors, and shit that does not belong in a "WW2 themed" game like the F2000. A gun from the year(s) '95-2000's. Well, your just asking for trouble with the fans and historics alike.

I love the movement of this game it was my first cod game I ever played so its special to me none other I've played feels as good as this one does.

Vanguard was not a great game but it's far from the worst. People who say this have clearly not played WW2 and MW 2019 on launch, COD Ghosts or MW2 2022.

can somebody explain what made this game bad besides being WW2

I remember this game being so bad that I decided to explore other game franchises and make some big improvements to my real life during its life cycle. There were times I wouldn’t touch the game for more than 2 weeks, and mind you I play CoD almost daily. I also got incredibly bored with it after the Atomic grind since… that was literally it. I couldn’t find anything more to do other than Dark Aether, which I did eventually since I was so damn bored with this game.

Vanguard was fun for me until EOMM kicked it full force. Luckily, Steam then still accepted my refund request, even with 4h of playtime :) F Activision

MWII movement pretty did suck a little bit, even that you couldn't slide cancel but the movement in the game itself was quite very slow.

Multiplayer Gameplay wise was really fun but the rest of the bad about it made alot of people hate hit 😂

The multiplayer was great I prefer it over the cold war one because it allowed for faster and cleaner movement, the game gets overhated because the story was trash and not historically accurate but besides that the game is great imo

I expected MW 2019, and I got disappointed. Seriously, stop that Vanguard bashing. Vanguard was a really good Call of Duty, much better than say MW 2019, which was the absolute worst in my opinion. I also remember lots of people saying that the Beta was the worst thing ever, and the full game was the best thing ever. I'm serious, people who hate Vanguard have not seen the SBMM infested mess that was MW 2019.
