Hollow Knight 'Hall of Gods - All Radiant' Challenge I stream my challenges and more at 8:30pm PST: / delephantuno Doc with everything found here: docs.google.com/document/d/10...
Ok so a lot of people are asking why I used grimmchild and it's simply because I had no idea it was garbage. I never looked up anything what were optimal charms and I just used stuff that felt good and because I hated using spells I never used any spell charms. I also am kind of a sucker for summons so when I saw there was a summon I just wanted to use it lol. I was roasted in twitch chat a couple of times for it so if you look at the document for like the last couple of bosses I used shaman stone. Hopefully this clears up some confusion! Edit: Shaman stone instead of spell twister idk how I messed that up
I managed to beat my last boss on radiant today, AbsRad. Thereafter, I even went out to beat both the HK and the normal Radiance no hit. This was pure pain and torture…
@@unmeiidesu the mic quality is good, the editing is very cohesive and aligns with what he’s talking about, and his script writing with building a story is clear and appealing. All in all just a solid well put together, enjoyable video.
No way he only has 200 subscribers, I watched the entire video fully expecting a sub count maching fireborns or bluesrs. Wow, your editing is absolutely amazing, i m leaving my mark here before you explode, my guy. keep up the great work!
the moment I saw u using d dark against Mantis Lords I knew that was the issue because for some bosses using purely nail is just the best option. It was nice to see that u learned from your mistake.
This experience with hall of gods pretty much exactly mirrors my own. The sheer rush I felt upon finally beating abs rad fuels me on to this day where I know best radiant abs rad for fun (shocking I know). I’ve seen plenty of other videos on hall of gods but yours was definitely not only the most similar to my own, but also the most engaging in one. This was an absolute joy to watch and I can’t wait to see your other videos (:
You have 300 subscribers but kept my attention longer than basically anyone with millions of subs could. Which is the entire video. It was awesome, great quality, you deserve way more subs
Commenting to boost the algorithm on this because it is absolutely amazing. Mad respect to you I probably would have given up at vfk if I ever attempted radiant 😅😅
Just finished watching the whole video and just wow! For only 700 subscribers you’re absolutely amazing. The story woven into the gameplay, the commentary/voice over, the editing and everything else put into this video made it really enjoyable to watch. You’ve definitely earned a subscriber and hopefully many more. This video made me want to go back to Hollow Knight to finish all the radiant bosses. I just have Radiance left, and I’m trying my best to beat it. But anyways, this video was absolutely (hall of) godlike.
This video is cute as hell reminds me of when i first played :) so happy people still get to experience so much joy from this game that brought me so much. Can't wait for silksong.
Better tips: Stay on the right wall, the left one allows blade spawns outside of the screen Use nail arts to increase your range. If u can (P5) u should cast Vengeful Spirit twice right at the beginning For Phase 2 use dashslashes for maximum range im lazy rn
I genuinely thought this guy would have so many videos but I was shocked the quality is amazing I can not stop rewatching the whole video well done man love your work
in my opinion this is still one of the best hall of gods video ive seen i remember watching this video for the first time when it came out 6 months ago and i was so surprised that u ended up finishing this challenge so i started as well sadly i ended up quitting hollow knight cuz of school but i came back just to finish this challenge i saved markoth for last cuz hes definetly way harder than radiance and even pure vessel (at least in my case) and i rewatched this video cuz i wanted to see this vid again and tbh even though i alr watched this video the milestone u achieved by doing this is a milestone u should be proud of tbh anyways enough talking though idk what im saying at this point lmao but yea tbh best hall of gods video and i hope this challenge was fun for u :D (ik markoth wasnt im going through the pain myself so yea)
Wow he was able to find another specific use for heavy blow and this time it actually helps instead of with Mossy boy which isn't even that hard so this kind of gives a whole new perspective to things considering onlobles are one of the hardest bosses on radiant yeah I think it should be get out of e tier and move up to D
As a fellow Radiant Completionist, I can say with 100% confidence that Markoth is the embodiment of inconsistency. Pure Vessel, personally, went pretty much as you described. Easily manageable attacks that I have dodged previously with clinical ease, and yet get fucked up on for seemingly no rhyme or reason.
I just wanted to say how incredible of an accomplishment this is, it must have taken so much willpower. I really hope you get a lot of recognition from this vid, it was super high quality and your channel is amazing. I can honestly say I completely lost track of time watching this in a good way, and wanted to thank you for having an hour long positive impact on my day. You absolutely deserve every sub you have an (in my opinion) at least 200K more. Carry on being awesome dude, and making an entertaining and positive change in the world. I wish you the best of luck! :)
I can tell how hard this challenge is because i have done it two times. Every time you defeated a hard boss i was so happy for you because i know how hard this is.
Congratulations! I know how difficult this is, as it took me over three hundred hours in total to do this. Also amazing video quality, keep up the good work!
I'm thinking of trying this challenge myself, the hardest gaming challenge I've attempted so far was beating sekiro with the demon bell and no kuro's charm, Isshin took me four hours over two days, but that wasn't anywhere near as hard as this seems, also I recently ragequit my 112% HK run because I couldn't beat pure vessel when I was right at the end of it all (111%) so I'm hesitant to open this pandora's box and unsure if I can trust myself to maintain the mental fortitude to see it to the end, skill isn't really what I'm worried about, even if I'm not good enough, I'll just get better, but staying motivated for things like this is the real struggle, and I don't wanna get to the end and spit on all my previous hard work again,
Somehow hollow knight and both Ori games had all got by me and a cpl months ago played the Ori's and fell in love and after hearing about the similarities I went straight to hk and these are now 3 of my favorite games of all time lol
the beam radiance kills you with in the climb phase is not rng it is programed to be really off for the first half, and then expertly predict where you will be in the second bit so avoiding usually means jumping really far the opposite way and dashing back towards the platform to bait the beam far away
this deserves waaaaayyyy more recognition then it got in 2 weeks because this whole video and hearing your struggles and rage was honestly motivation for me to try this challenge myself sometimes i may even get it and you took so much time with this and just that deserves more views
Having beat all the bosses radiant as well and sunk in over 200 hours in the game, I’m sure that in the end learning how to work without mark of pride and using both strength and shaman stone together with quick slash it is much more worth it in the long run. The faster you kill bosses the less chances they get of hitting you. Also use steady body. It’s the most op charm in the game that many people overlook.
This was my goto setup for much of endgame. In the end though I found that setup to be a bit too mid to beat Radience. It's a good general setup, but imo it's better to lean into either Nail or Magic, rather than trying to cover both bases. I fully agree with everything else though, especially Steady Body being very underrated.
@@alil636 well in my experience steady body paired with Quickslash gives you soul extremely quickly (as you are not limited by the knockback effect that you have without steady body on) it also means that you can get more damage in a reduced time window. If you want more input from this look at Fireborn's video of all the charms ranked, and he further describes the great utility provided by steady body. At best it is actually dealing a higher dps, and at worst it gives similar effects than that of spell twister, albeit at a lower notch cost. In no way am I saying spell twister is bad, but to me at this point id just prefer to stick to steady body considering it has a lower charm cost and works regardless of either a strength of spell build. If you are going for an all out spell build, Shaman stone, Quickslash, spell twister, soul catcher, and steady body are a great combo and I suggest you run it.
@@paultapping9510 I would agree with you, but my view is more so looking at how speedrunners and TAS runs play against bosses and what builds they are using. There also tends to be many commonalities in both such as the use of steady body, and other DPS charms. On the other hand, I also think that using Grimchild is ofc really bad and look at the speedrunners and TAS as an example. In the end its more just an aggressive playstyle of mine rather than an overall truth. This video alone is enough to show that you can beat all these bosses without them. Also steady body goated
@@delephantuno all bindings at once could be really show offy ngl but practicing bindings of all pantheons puts everything you learnt into much much deeper practice...idk man i do recommend it as the next big step for your hk journey...
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, thanks so much for the compliment! I wasn’t familiar with the charm so I just looked it up. I think maybe it would’ve helped with the oblobbles and Markoth but I’m not sure what else. I could be completely wrong though. It’s good information for the future so thanks for letting me know!
Sharp shadow does 21 dmg, with dashmaster 32 (same as nail and strength) but on itself it's only useful on dashing bosses, and really it is lne of the charms you are better off learning to not use, as it can create dependecy. Also on PV sometimes attacks are faster than dashes and you are just better off jumping. The only two bosses as of now (P5AB clearer and R5 contender) I'd use ss on are watchers and failed champ. Itself it's an ok charm, but some people tend to overrate it and some to underrate it.
For the last faze you can just pogo and the balls will go out of the screen. I see everybody that plays this does that. The balls simply go past off screen and dissappear. Like when they get to this part, they start to celebrate cuz it's pretty much a no hit pogo fest. Don't even have to pogo that much. Great job for doing it a real way instead of the cheese
Glad you enjoyed! As for the amount of hours I have: on the save file I have somewhere between 97 - 100 hours but on steam I have a couple more just because someone played on my account before.
@@delephantuno Damn, I started like 2 weeks ago and got like 70 hours so far, working towards my first 112% at the moment. game is way better than i couldve ever expected
Different people have different rates at which they go through the game so I hope you don't get discouraged! It is something that needs to be experienced fully :)
@@delephantuno Nah I have 100% loved this game so much and im determined to 112% and get all achievements at my own pace! I just finished the game in under 5 hours so ticked off two more achievements, about to start trying some pantheons on my main save. Cant believe i waited so long to try this game but i can say now it's probably my favourite game of all time :D
all bossew in hollow knight have a pattern, a discernible visual sign for when they're about to strike with one of their attacks, no matter how small it is and how little time you have to react, but Markoth. Markoth is completely random. he has no special attacks but randomness itself. his fight is just painful to get radiant and just not fun at all. even when i got prince Zote in radiant i had fun, no matter how hard it was, but with Markoth, it just makes you want to quit. it's truly one of the most unsatisfying and frustrating boss fights i've ever played.
If you were to do this challenge again I would prefer you to overcharm bc double damage doesn’t matter when you die in one hit anyways and use abyss shriek and other spells way more like in venge fly king or some other fights it makes it goes by faster and makes it easier
@@delephantuno would love to lol, rn I’ve literally only been able to get up to nailsage sly in pantheon 3 and can only get past his first phase so I myself have suffered through lots of these, even trying to do radiant on a lot of the bosses but not managing to even do ascended on Markoth lol, would love to see someone else’s pain not in a sick way but someone I can relate to you know??
Definitely get it! I know for me I looked at others doing it as well, looking at any mistakes possible to be like "Oh so a human can do it as well" lol. Good luck!
the quality on narration and edition is just delightful. I am at a loss of words, this is beatiful and so engaging I just don't want to miss any second of this
Amazing video! I swore you were one of the 100k+ hollow knight channels I just hadn't heard about. Doing radiant with grimmchild Is a pure form of masochism I'll never fathom, got a new sub tho
