I kinda like the premise that Empyrion set recently (After the death of the motorbike in place for the dedicated hoverbike) that a no-nonsense people mover really ought to be a part of someone's fleet. Whether or not Empyrion started it or Space Engineers did, the utility of a cheap, get up and go craft like this, made economically, with attention to detail and care, really speaks to me as a small craft enjoyer.
I've been building starter HVs all the time for my Empyrion playthroughts, the motorcycle has been trash since day 1, they really should've either fixed it or swapped for a dedicated hover bike from day 1
I Like the design of the speeder, though I'd maybe say it wouldn't of hurt if you moved the side thrusters to be parallel or even removed them entirely. The way the speeder moves it kind makes side thrusters unimportant, but I could obviously be wrong, since I've had very little experience with them myself. I do wonder if there is a way to make sure the thrusters keep the bike just off the floor, but not actually be allowed to fly the ship higher, that be rather interesting to see as well.
The side thrusters are important because otherwise the craft would have no way of stopping any sideways momentum, meaning the speeder would constantly be sliding left/right and would hit the ground if it is angled. That would make it really annoying to pilot it. The side thrusters can't be placed parallel because they are 3 blocks long in the direction of thrust, and the speeder is only 4 blocks wide.
Will you be revisiting speeder bikes with the new atmospheric thrusters? I'm imagining a design that uses hinges to mount your lateral thrusters at 45 degrees relative to the ground. That way, they can be used together to replace two of your lifting thrusters (with the equivalent of a single thruster) while still providing lateral thrust at a reduced rate. Since most of your turns are going to be accomplished by re-orienting your lift thrusters, the new orientation of your lateral thrusters should help with banked turns.
Put a rotor on your base, remove the rotor head, go into the control panel and add a new small rotor head. And then you can simply put a small connector on the small rotor head.
I love how much these devs give us the things we dream of. They cant give us unlimited pcu... But god damn. I can forgive that to some degree. Just wish i didnt have to make so many separate saves for different expiriments.
@@snakeofminthumbugs330keen servers are an awful experience anyway, most servers have at least some increased speed limit besides, have fun going above 200ms on a speeder and not hitting anything in this game lol
