In German, we lovingly call it "Straßenköterblond" which means something like "street dog blonde". Got a similar color naturally, haven't seen it for 8 years except for the roots because I keep on coloring it dark brown or some wild crazy colors here and there because I feel it gives my look more.. personality. My boyfriend is already complaining that he may never see my natural hair haha. Was thinking of dyeing it back sometime in the next years, so I guess the timing would be good now that it's suddenly popular

Haha Echt jetzt?

Yeah, this gorgeous shade has several unflattering names--and I love the German "street dog blonde." 🤣 I keep hearing the voice of my grandfather saying the word. He could take the piss out of anything. The day I arrived strutting a ponytail for the first time he asked, "Have you got under there what a horse has under there?" Beige--a color with a glorious range--gets the same bad rap. The words we choose for things are also influencers. Big time.

When you started talking about silicone free I knew you were going to mention Dimethicone. People don't understand how its literally in everything. Most anti head-lice treatments are just very dense with dimethicone because it coats and sticks to everything! including headlice! It basically suffocates the lice. It is perfectly safe for your hair and body, it will be in shampoos, conditioners, body wash, face creams.. literally everything. Silicone can't be absorbed through skin as its too big on a molecular level so it can't damage anything, it just coats and leaves hair smooth and protects from damage. (Also I work in Pharmacy so yes I do know what I'm talking about)
@icemeoutlikeelsa
@icemeoutlikeelsa 4 года назад
It's safe health wise but it will destroy your hair with consistent use and overuse especially. It turned my hair into straw that was breaking off like crazy and even clarifying shampoo could not strip out the silicones in my hair. Basically had to bleach the crap out of all my hair and do a big trim of my long waist length hair into shoulder length. I may even need to cut it further because of the uneven breakage.
@natc1008
@natc1008 4 года назад
@@icemeoutlikeelsa i have waist length hair and have always used sillicones....u sure it was the sillicone that damaged your hair? It helps trap moisture and shine into my strands and helps with length retention. Maybe u didnt pair it with any humectants?
@icemeoutlikeelsa
@icemeoutlikeelsa 4 года назад
@@natc1008 I'm sure because as you guys describe silicone locking in moisture, it can also lock it out completely. And the silicone conditioner that destroyed my hair had humectants and oils. That is my natural hair colour, and I can tell you it is almost impossible to get artificially! I dyed my hair all different colours during my twenties, and attempted to get back to my natural colour at least 15 times, both with bleach/box dyes/toners and at various salons. Never happened. The closest I ever got was a weird gingery version of it. In the end, I had to grow it out the hard (and slowww) way. Then I messed up at-home highlights and had to dye it brown and grow it out all over again, argh!! Perhaps hair dyes are more advanced today though? The last time I used it was 2013. Happy with my own colour these days, thank goodness!

What people usually recognise as blond, is technically a light blond(8), very light blond (9) or extra light blond(10). 🤓

Going "natural" and silicon free ruined my hair! I have naturally very fine hair and all the shampoos i tried made my hair super dry and incredibly hard to brush out, which led to a ton of breakage. After I switched back to silicones, it's back to normal again and starting to grow back in..
@Taylor_R

@kidaria1333 4 года назад
Sorry but this is rubbish. You just didn't found the right products. Your hair is damaged and the silicon just covers it like cloak. When this is you way to go fine. I do this sometimes in winter as well in the hair-ends. But most people are just to lazy put real effort in finding a proper natural product or are not willingly to pay more because good perfoming natural products often cost more and of course you to find the right one for your hair type same with skin products.

kidaria please stop commenting things like that on people’s personal experiences that you don’t even know. i‘ve tried many different brands recommended by many different people and no not the cheap ones. they simply don’t work for my hair and you‘re not in the position to make judgements about it.

@@sophiee3623 I will not stop commenting on false informations. Would you have written "I never found natural hair care working for me" it would be something else. Hair care in general and how silicon works is not rocket science and claiming that natural hair products ruined you hair is drop dead wrong. The products do not have the power to do that. And of course I can judge because the way you argument shows you have no deeped knowledge. I already wrote you can do what you want, but do not spread false informations and once you post offical comments other are allowed to comment as well.

I love how you explain things, just wanted to drop in to say that silicones aren't the problem in cg, its the sulphates that are needed to wash some types of silicones out of your hair that are. Without the sulphates washing them out, some silicones can build up causing your hair to look greasy and lose curl structure :) great video xx
