This is like when a young student is learning piano and is impatient with rests/rushes the music a little bit. But in the most endearing way! I'm impressed with how much was remembered for only 30 minutes!
Fun fact, Midna's Lament is a great example of "Lament Bass," in music theory, which consists of a stepwise descent down a perfect fourth from tonic to dominant. You can hear it at about a minute into the original piece and 5 and half minutes here (think do te le sol). I love descending progressions like these, they always get me, maybe in part from growing up with this game, who knows.
I'm learning Midna's Lament on piano so I know exactly what the notes were meant to be, so when he got it very slightly wrong it was super painful lol. The end result turned out pretty good considering it was from memory though!
Sounds a lot more like "a dying man's imperfect memory" Hes shot and bleeding out, desperately trying to find medical supplies, or even another comrade thats still alive. He then collapses in pain as he made a mistake, and finally gives up, remembering his family back home, or the family that never was, ending with him taking his final breath.
I'm glad to hear you enjoy them! Funny enough, my community and I did have that idea! I'm just figuring out what to title those videos to convey the challenge. Once I do, I'm definitely giving it a try :)
That was amazingly done! This is one of my favorite games, so hearing you get this so close was really cool to see! The sped up little section near the end almost had me spitting out my drink.🤣
Hey, I listened to some of your tracks on spotify because they appeared on my daylist and I really liked them! Keep up the good work and enjoy yourself another sub 👍
I feel like Shady would have a wild time with some of the Splatoon tracks. Whether that be a good thing or a bad thing, you decide. (I'd watch either way)
Great song, I listened to the original for a while and watchinf you frantically cover it was great! (Also on a side note, your music convinced me to by Attorney of the Arcane and it was SO GOOOOOOOD)
I know this might sound like a silly question, but what DAW do you use? I have a coworker that wants to get into MIDI production, and I wanna recommend this one to him.

You should cover a song without hearing what you're working on. You can listen to the original song but you gotta mute the DAW (and probably give yourself more time.... or not 👀)
I could never do this because knowing it on the piano would be cheating But then again I could not disclose that information to chat and reaaally impress everyone
