*Shout out to my friends Jordan and JaKerick for putting up with our Yu-Gi-Oh antics! They did much better than we expected!* 😂 Now be honest y'all: How many of these Yu-Gi-Oh questions did YOU know completely from memory?
Those kids WB commercials gave all the cartoon characters extra personality that I love! Gave me Cartoon City vibes with all them knowing each other on a hollywood set spending time with each other XD 16:05 - I was really expecting for Kaiba to say "heart of the cards bullshit" I feel yall could add a "Draw this character/monster/etc" question, closest gets the point
Yeah exactly! I loved those little commercials. Especially when they'd have little events or music videos. I rememeber that's where I heard "Fallin for the First Time" by The Barenaked Ladies. I also remember one of the events was like some cross country beach vacation trip or something like that, and then another was like the Scooby Doo gang took over caused they were investigating something. It was such a great time to be a kid lol. It reminds me of when Cartoon Network raided Nickelodeon. Giving these characters personality outside of their shows was pretty awesome.
Loved a set of questions for newer questions, and always nice to see these two on the channel again. JaKerick's reaction to the Egyptian Gods realisation was priceless!
It's also how they pronounce "BRAINS" in english with their accents, since they pronounce their 'v' = 'b' and vice versa. And since the show is mainly in VR space via a link in to your brain....."Yu-Gi-Oh BRAINS"
This is this effect: "Look at the top two cards of your main deck then, add the two cards from the top of your deck and add them to your hand. After the previous effect resolves, send this card from the spell and trap zone into your Graveyard." Erratas come every ten days apparently. But the qcr does let you look at top three and add 2.
The part where Jordan spends almost all of his time trying different ways to spell “millennium” while JaKerick is searching his mind for something that could describe what the necklace is. 😂
The show was definitely on Kids WB here in the NYC market too, btw. Also, I think I’m too far gone if during the question about video games, I ran through like 10 games in my head before I even got to Tag Force, then Duel Generation (RIP) and Cross Duel (RIPx2), then MD & DL.
I had a VHS tape sent in the mail that I think had the pilot episode on it back in the 90s. Pokémon did that too, that sorta marketing is unheard of, I haven’t received a single dvd or Blu-ray in the mail. They were free, I wonder how many people had that mailed to them, and how they were chosen.
I remember kids WB because whenever Yu-gi-oh was on it would give the little WB logo Yugis haircut. For Pokémon it would get Pikachu's tail... man I feel old.
For the video games, I immediately thought of tag force 1-5. Then there’s forbidden memories and duelist of the roses, and master duel and duel links. Those are the ones I’ve played/watched.
To be fair, I hear the question so often that it's fairly certain to conclude that no one actually knows what pot of greed does... Also, not sure if yall count this, but Season 0 is seperate season of yugioh from duel monsters. It may not dive heavily into the card game specifically like the rest of them, but it's a fun season to watch none the less.
I'm in between tbh. 34 and played until around the time XYZs came out, so I have a basic knowledge of how to play, but Pendulum and Link summoning is all a crazy concept to me. I'm certain it's not as hard as someone just starting out, but things really felt like they changed from the days of setting traps properly, getting a good monster on the field only to have a spell or effect remove/negate it, and having fun with the different deck types like Black Wings or Chaos Sorcerer.
Ayee Vrains is on Tubi and the Roku channel. I ain't mad at it. I'm just glad the dubbed version is finally accessible 👏🏽👏🏽 I skipped straight to season 2 Fun fact: the episode that aired the same week Firewall Dragon to banned, Yusaku does a firewall loop. Spamming and bouncing monsters and swinging in for an otk 😂
Good vid, u should get these guys to do a goat or battle city draft.... give each one time to read choices and someone to advice during picks, could be very fun way
y'know, I always tried to remember what exact TV station yugioh was on, because nothing I remembered watching as a kid seemed right to me. Nickelodeon and Disney Channel were certainly not it. Cartoon Network sounded plausible at first, but upon further thought it didn't seem right, but i couldn't think of any other channel I watched aside from PBS Kids (imagine if that had yugioh). However, when i saw the multiple choice, seeing that Kids WB option really unlocked some memories of mine. I even remember seeing that logo in the corner of the screen, can't believe I had forgotten.
The question about what channel it aired on is highly dependent on both region and network provider. I had DirecTV growing up and didn't have channels like Kids WB or FoxKids at all. My friends growing up who had Dish network did have those channels. Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh were on Cartoon Network while Jackie Chan Adventures was on Disney. I remember watching Static Shock a couple of times but no clue what channel it was on.
I could be wrong, its hard to find old info like this, but im pretty sure packs were 2.99 in 2002. From what i found on reddit some ppl said they remember paying 3.49 after taxes, which is what i remember, making it 2.99, and someone from the uk said they were 2.50 pounds. Also you guys showed packs from what had to be atleat 2018, cause savage strike was there.
Packs were always 3.99 MSRP in USD, they went up to 4.19 around the start of 2022, and changed to 4.49 near the end of 2022 and have been that price since
Just gonna say it again. Pot of Greed has no place on the ban list. Most cards on the ban list don't. Half the legal cards, and archtypes made today, those do though.,
Speaking of Duel Links, in my opinion will make we will make the game even better if if they added like a trading system where you can trade with your friends or other players to get certain cards that you don’t have and what they don’t have what people think of this idea for Duel Links?
I wouldve aced this quiz up until the "list as many games as you can" brother yall know how whacky some of these yugioh games are called? Nightmare troubadour?
I'd say ones like that aren't as weird for the average person to remember as the ones with 8+ words. Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2005: 7 Trials to Glory, for example, is probably going to be a harder recall than a two word one. Then you have others like Destiny Board Traveler where even though it's a more basic name, if you're only half remembering what the gameplay is (and considering many people didn't think it was very good, if they played it they probably didn't play it much) you might confuse it for Dungeon Dice Monsters and not even think to think there might be another name.
Everyone knows Pot of Greed gets activated, gets destroyed by it’s own affect, and once it’s destroyed and sent to the graveyard you then finally draw 2 cards. Kappa
Fun/Boring fact: In Latin America, Yu-Gi-Oh aired on Nickelodeon. I think it was the only anime on that channel. P.S. Are you sure that's how Pot of Greed works?
Fox kids I was thinking 4kids because the merger I think you guys are getting fox kids and Jetix mixed up a little… Saturday morning cartoons were my shit as a kid
