I’ve never heard of losing an entire world before on a PC… that seems crazy. I’ve been trying to make regular backups of my Survival World ever since I had a mass-despawning of mobs and entities at my base and also after watching the video you made where your Let’s Play world got corrupted. Sage advice that should be taken by everyone!!
Pocket Edition used to have this problem but to an insane extent (before external world storage was a thing for PE). You would lose *all* your worlds multiple times a year, depending on your playstyle that may have even meant hundreds of worlds getting lost every time. I bet I've lost a thousand worlds due to that glitch. Thank god this doesn't happen anymore
The same glitch happened to me in version 1.17 . I remember one day I was playing on my world then took a short break then came back. I didn't notice that anything was wrong until I noticed my villagers , armorstands and other mobs were missing . Only things that were sparred by the glitch were mobs and entities that were in unloaded chunks. I was able to get rid of the despawnig glitch by copying the world. The copy thankfully didn't have the glitch like the original. Now I always remember to back up my words so thing like that don't happen again. I still don't know what even caused the glitch but I hope they patched it in later versions of minecraft bedrock edition
@@Gigi4u I lost pretty much everything at my base, so all of my Sheep, Cows, Horses, Pet Wolves and Parrots, Tridents in Trident Killers, Hopper Minecarts, Villagers, Armor Stands (and the items on them), and Boats. I'm just glad that I have my Villager Trading Hall somewhere else... Not even Mojang is 100% sure what causes this glitch; there is a bug report on it that they labeled as "fixed" at one point, but there are still people complaining about it happening.
You can and probably will still lose all of your worlds on console, they need to add a way for console players to backup their worlds that doesn't rely on a paid service (REALMs, which don't even always work, they can corrupt too)
Sometimes while I'm playing (Java, vanilla) I see a white message pop up in the bottom corner (right, left or both, don't remember) for like half a second so by the time I spot it and try to read it, it's already gone. One time I did manage to see it in time though, and I think it said "Saving world..." or something like that, so I'm guessing the message is like an autosave mid-game thing?
At 10:16 you can feel the nervous for him and he dose not even now about the possible intending doom of his items Edit:I thought that was the biggest problem in the world and I am going to back up my minecraft word
I feel for you for losing that world. On Pocket Edition, before external world storage, AKA actually having your worlds stored as user accessible files, was a thing, you would regularly lose *all* your worlds. And as you might imagine, there was basically no way to back up your worlds (you couldn't even access them outside of the game, unless you rooted your device, which does have its drawbacks). If you played lots of worlds (I mean the hundreds kind of lots), this was very painful every time it happened. Do you want to go back to those worlds to relive your memories because of nostalgia? Well, too bad, they're all probably long gone, even if you still use the same device you used back then to play the Pocket Edition.
YES Dripstone is underused! I made a slime farm using drip stone to break them down with water channels to move them. It works great and I'm thinking I can convert it for magma and frog farm?
This reminds me of the one time I spent a slow 4 years on a map I set up to me mideavel style. I had multiple castle cities, motes, out of town travellers shops, all my nearby villages were protected and revamped to look mideavel, built boats, lots of redstone stuff, my nether was decorated, etc. Just 4 years of creative world decorations I spent countless hours on, relaxed and enjoyed doing this on days I had a hard time. Lost it all because the file corrupted one day. The world still shows in the menu, but it wont load up anymore. Not a clue of what happened but it made me set Minecraft down for 2 years out of sheer depression of loss. In late 2017 I started up another! But its nowhere near where the other used to be. I just dont have the same kind of motivation anymore. I still add onto it when I like to relax, but I always feel too upset to have very long sessions anymore.
My condolences, that sounds absolutely heartbreaking and soul-shattering. I have a massive build I've spent almost two weeks on, and if anything were to happen to that world, I would be super depressed, coz though it was only almost 2 weeks, I made a lot, and it's kind of complicated, and if something complicated I make disappears, I often feel like not doing it again because I'm too depressed and fear it won't be the same. I can't imagine losing 4 years of builds and progress. If that had happened to me, I might just not play anymore ever again. Fortunately, I have only been playing for like 2 months since first starting Minecraft for the first time. So a loss now might not be too devastating for me, except if it's that one complicated creative build.
oh I’ve experienced the issue of worlds mysteriously disappearing on me multiple multiple times pre 1.16 on bedrock edition and still occasionally experience it in modern versions
if the did that not only would he get mining fatigue he'd also get the darkness effect also not sure how he'd do that since you can't move the sculk shriekers and the warden would have to chase him all the way there from wherever the deep dark is.
@@ZUnknownFox Warden only gives you darkness if you come within like 10 blocks. It's honestly not anywhere near as bad as how far the elder Guardian hits you with mining fatigue from, he could even add a basement part for the warden to keep it further away from building spaced
if you do one on java you can prevent wardens from spawning. ilmango made a video on it. honestly the mechanics should be the same on bedrock, but i haven't tested it yet
@@AlphaGarg No they have a bug on bedrock edition right now where hostile mobs are still spawning in the deep dark biome, which also includes the ancient city
Dang. Sympathies for losing the world. I was forced to do a reset of my laptop a few months ago and the backups I had made and copied to ubs drive corrupted somewhere along the lines. 20 or worlds all the way back to 1.15 were lost.
My biggest question able moment when I remove a small jungle biome that was on top of a mountain crater and still mining cobblestone just to refilled the crater only to replace the same jungle in the spot.
I think the random world loss could be a problem with the hard drive you had the world on or just the minecraft preview version being buggy but I could be wrong.
That's sucks man but I would love to see you play java hardcore. I play bedrock but I like to challenge myself by playing java because is honestly feels like a different game.
my first base in minecraft was an underground base lit by a lava column. the stairwell down to the base was also against the lava so if a mob followed me down it would most likely run into the lava. also I made a dripstone staircase. let's you go up like 40 blocks in like a 6 block wide area.
My worlds mostly get corrupted so after not playing a world that got corrupted for like 2 years I now make regular backups whenever I make some progress
I lost a world too on my switch. No idea how it happened. Luckily I had a copy and I’ve made a lot of progress on it, it’s my main survival world now :) sorry about your world
In your line of work, you shouldn’t just be relying on Minecraft for backups. Learn about actual backups. At a minimum, turn on File History in Windows if you haven’t already. If you have, your world should be available in File History to restore.
Uhmm. For some reason mobs keep spawning in the ancient city on my Realm (Bedrock) It is incredibly annoying getting killed by the warden that was spawned in by a f@#$ing zombie
Duuude, that suuuucks! :( I don't know how to make backups (I play Java on PC) of my worlds, or backups of ANYTHING, other than perhaps having Undertale on a flash drive that is uncorrupted so if I complete genocide I can always bring back the pure game without the corruption of post-genocide. But other than that, I don't know how to make backups of anything, let alone Minecraft worlds. I haven't had anything bad happen to any of my worlds yet, I only have a few of them anyway, like... 8 I think. But one of them is a Creative world where I am working on a massive airship in the somewhat shape of a salamander, with four floors, dozens of rooms on two of the floors, and I am working on it for an original story of mine, a manga, coz I thought it would be easier to draw it when knowing the scale and how it looks in 3D, and Minecraft just so happens to be a great program for architecture! And because I'm working on it for an original story of mine, I REALLY cannot lose this world or the build, it has taken me nearly two weeks of building, about 7-9 hours every day (not in a row, but the first 6 days were in a row, the current rest have had a few break days in-between), and while it may not seem like a long time for a build, I've put a lot of effort into it, and I fear if I lose it, I won't be able to make it again, simply because I will be too devastated at the loss. Again, I haven't experienced any corruption or loss in my worlds yet, but just in case, how would I be able to keep my very important Creative world safe? Do I have to, like, make a copy of the world in-game, or is it something more complicated with folders or something? I'm not a tech wiz, so I have no idea!!! :/ At least, I have taken some screenshots and photos of my build so even if I were to lose it, I might be able to salvage it by referencing the images... But for now, I'll just hope it won't happen. It's a scary thought though.
This bug has been happening for a long time, I lost my main creative world that I had for over a year that I still consistently played with my sister at the time, but shortly after we updated to 1.16, the world just disappeared. I hate this bug, it sucks. (its worth mentioning that this was on Xbox one OFFLINE, so it probably isn't something to do with syncing as that requires internet)
On the PlayStation 4 when you play in a world hope you never lose power or the world save file becomes corrupted and will never load again. Also never jiggle the power strip that your PS4 is plugged into or it will do the same. The last world I had I lost a year and a half worth of game play do to power loss
I’m sorry for your loss of worlds I’m on switch and I had a world and I do not know if it was backed up although I know that my world has been going on since December 2021 and yeah see you soon
It may be at the very bottom of your world's list under a name such as xhebxhbdjxnzhxbd or another random jumble of words and a greyed out picture. If not then yep it's gone but the same thing happened to me but it was still there at the bottom
This bug... I have had a world that existed for months and it vanished for no reason as well. There was a way to bring it back, but random chunks of that world would be deleted. The world is still on the device, but not visible. It took me a while to figure it out since the internet didn't have what I was looking for. It was something about creating a new world and copying specific files from the original world to the new one. If you copied all of them, it wouldn't work.

I bought a texture pack from the marketplace in 2020 and yesterday it just disappeared. When I logged in it was no longer applied to my world and wasnt in my already owned packs in the store. I searched and found the texture pack renamed in the marketplace and I had to buy it again. It's definitely the same texture pack, very weird.
ive had this bug on Java edition on 1.12.2, nearly lost my first ever rlcraft world, and when it reappeared it put me in a completely different place. it was really weird
RU-vid Algorithm loves your channel as much as I do. This video has been the top of my recommended every time I refreshed RU-vid since this came out lol
