MP01 is still the only MP Optimus I have in my collection. Crazy what a 100 Canadian could buy you back in the day. While the design/engineering is dated compared to the newer ones really amazed how well this toy has held up structurally over the years. Axe on mine is still fine however the soft plastic shoulder stock for the Megatron gun has long broken around the pin. I like how Lego Optimus uses quite literally the same designs and transformation. I feel the upcoming SS 86 Prime is going to be MP44 with a simplified transformation and mainline toy quality. Lastly nice Christmas Story reference.
I have yet to receive this mp44s soon, and know what's crazy? I've read Japanese commenters about this figure saying it isn't that complex. I once had ds01, and it wasn't that complex either. Ms02ex, I was tempted to get when both mp44s and ms02ex were in stock at showz, and even though ms02ex has an easier and faster transformation, I like the origami type engineering the mp44s. Great review.
12:30 The reason the axe doesn't fit is because it's meant to go on the RIGHT hand, while you're trying to put it on the left hand. Great video, by the way! Started watching you recently and your content is very enjoyable.
@@treebotreviews Huh. That's really odd. I guess it really is some defect then. Maybe something on the inside of the base is not carved out properly which makes it impossible to put it on? When I look at the video there seems to be some weird stuff inside the axe.
@@treebotreviews that's interesting, most of the complaints I've heard about Mp-44 don't seem like they could be improved on by a repaint, except for the price
Man, Mp-10 was my grail as kid. I don't need him nowadays but I still smile when I see him. And the Reactivate transformation reminds me of him. Also, How old are you?
Correct me if im wrong, but i think the American releade of mp-09 rodimus had a matrix yhat opened and was a different mold. Great video tho!! I miss my mp10 so much
