i honestly expected this to be a super edited video, but the minimal editing made this actually really immersive, and your voice was so chill, i really enjoyed the vid
I’m glad you liked it! I try to cut out all the dead time + backtracking while keeping all the important bits in. I wanted to showcase what it’s really like to attempt a solo run in this game rather than just present the differences between soloing and running in a group, and I felt like showcasing more of the gameplay rather than curating my thoughts into a video essay would help make the experience more relatable. Though I do plan on doing video essay-type content in the future once I’ve exhausted my list of gameplay-driven challenges
17:30 hearing the extra footsteps on the stairs always makes my heart freeze on Titan (and on snow in Rend). There's just something so ominous about hearing another 'player' walking around while playing solo. Since the new update I'm feeling more comfortable on Dine solo since you don't have to deal with Masked who just give me the absolute creeps, and you still have the Fire Exit really close to the ship anyways.
"absolute creeps" during solo runs is a VERY accurate statement 😅I don't mind them at all when playing in a group but in solo I'm out of there ASAP. Big fan of their inclusion and role in the game though for sure. Going to Dine for solo runs is a boss-level play, I'm gonna have to look into that 👀I forgot that they didn't spawn there since they weren't an issue in group play, but now that I do a lot of solo runs that is probably the best reminder I've received since the update
@@sheffaustin since they nerfed Titan a bit for solo with the greater amount of turrets Dine has been a nice alternative. The disadvantage is the mansion layout which is a bit more stressful to navigate (at least for me).
@@Daltoniss I also prefer the facility layout for solo. Survival strategies aside, the bigger spaces in the mansion just feel extra unsettling when you're there by yourself. Liminal space to the max, but knowing that picking a mansion on Dine means that I don't need to worry about Masked will help me get over that lol
my favourite part of this video is you casually messing around with the ship decorations and stuff. gives it a much more fun mood than a lot of sweaty challenge videos i've seen of this game
I like being competent enough to hold my own but casual enough to where “underperforming” is funny rather than stressful. That’s pretty much true for all games, and especially so for Lethal Company. at the end of the day it’s a silly game with a satisfying gameplay loop, and it’s one my friends and I are enjoying as we are! so I’m happy people enjoy watching us play like this too 🙏
Aw thank you! I’m honored to be part of your work playlist :) I commute for an hour and a half every day I work so I made longer videos for people like us who could use some noise (with just enough intrigue to be able to tune in and out as needed). I even listen to my own videos to see how I can improve the experience in future uploads. If you post your art anywhere let us know here. I would absolutely drop a follow! 😬
really appreciate the tips/narrating your thought process while you do things. Helps new people out a lot. You're also really calm and collected which is a nice change to see with this game...not that I blame people for freaking out, but it's almost like an ASMR video and I really like that.
The gameplay loop is relaxing to me, which is why I can play for so long and come off as calm and collected while playing! and the creature encounters provide enough excitement to keep me on my toes but not be overwhelming. Good balance of chill and not chill imo!
some of the ambient noise in this game really sounds like a haunt, once on experimentation i heard “Hey!” in a girly soft voice and was so sure it was ghost girl i left immediately
i’m so glad to know i’m not nuts & this is an in-game sound! once thought my bf had died inside cuz i also heard “hey!” but then couldn’t find him, but then i got back to the ship & he was inside it. suffice to say i was freaked out😭
even after 100 hours in the game I’m still discerning which sounds are ambient noises and which ones indicate a haunt lol. nowadays if I don’t see her or my audio doesn’t get distorted then I just assume I’m good and carry on!
For the Mimic killing you because of it’s unexpected speed, I’m pretty sure when shoveling it, it will be angered and start moving faster towards you. So when fighting Mimics, make sure after getting a hit, back away quickly as there’s a chance it will run towards you. After it’s slowed down repeat till it’s dead. Definitely think you could’ve gone way longer if that death didn’t happen
probably gotta hit it while already backpedaling then since I’m too slow to run in for a hit then run back! absolutely could have just avoided the mimic but this was only my second time fighting one and the first time I had no issue so I didn’t think it was all that risky herep
For Titan especially, hit the Mimic over the railing of the stairs as it's traveling down or up them. You will be completely safe doing this and can get some free hits in. However, you only get about 1 free hit per level, so you have to move down or up the stairs along with it and keep smacking it. Took out 3 Mimics back to back with this technique solo.
just a tip, for the lockers in the big pit room, always scan when you're crouching because smaller items can get clipped into the bottom and you cant always see them
Bit late to checking out the video, but my team tries to hit Titan as much as possible so I thought it would be cool. Was honestly surprising how much you are able to get even without going too far into the facility. I was eager to see how the run ended but held out to be surprised at the end!
thank you for checking out the video! Titan is for sure the go to in the vanilla game, the return you get for the risk is insane, and it’s probably the least risky of the paid moons anyway I was also expecting to struggle more but there’s just so much loot on this moon that it shouldn’t be a problem clearing the early quotas while saving up some scrap for future ones. Might have to come up with some sort of restriction that discourages me from leaving so early next time!
Calm and collected yet relatively laid-back performance such as yours is very pleasant to listen to and watch. Standardized videos tend to get quite obnoxious, so I greatly appreciate these kind of tamed videos that don't drain with dopamine exploitation. By an hour mark I did start to speed up the footage and only reset it to normal for more cautious segments, but overall it is definitely a joy to see someone play the game (or.. do anything, frankly) as-is rather than put up a show. This also makes the experience feel more personal, as in the creator is sharing his experience with the audience rather than feeds it what's considered "content" these days.
thank you for the feedback! the vibe I was going for this was similar to one of the homies streaming their game on discord, but a bit more focused. I appreciate you staying for as long as you did! 🙏 I’ll be doing more of these especially because of the love I’ve been getting on this one recently. I also prefer shooting these more than the more edited down stuff I’ve done recently because it’s a lot more natural gameplay-wise and editing-wise. So I’m thrilled that people like it!
A much more successful solo single planet run! I guess it is a little unexciting as you have to play super safe/fast and leave before noon, but it was nice regardless to see a full run like this :D
Yeah a Titan only run sounds a lot cooler on paper, but it can actually just be optimal lol. Hard to not play that way solo in general because of how punishing dying can be, but I'm having fun coming up with new ways to keep things interesting :)
around the end of the video, you asked yourself who these types of videos would be for. I would say the same thing to what you said cause I've been going around doing homeworks and house chores listening and watching to your videos (Literally had to stop in the middle of cleaning my room to type this comment when i heard that question) It honestly helps me stay relaxed and do tasks stress-free. Looking forward for more videos, man ^^
i would definitely check out some of AstralSpiffs quota 6/10 runs (find them on his vods channel or on his twitch!!) he spends most of his time on titan when he can afford it and he has a really good drop and collect strategy for his loot, it saves some time and doesn't use a ladder. It also allows him to save a lot of stamina. I know these runs arent meant to be speedruns but getting off of titan as soon as you can for the day is always nice. props on the run though, this was a pretty chill playthrough and you made it fairly far. this was really good to just doodle to and there were definitely some suspense worthy moments. on the note of staying on titan all 3 days or leaving after 2nd day -- if you are worried about running the risk of dying on third day, you could always land and then leave right away,, you skip the day but can then sell to the company at 100% as opposed to 77.
I’ve for sure upgraded my Titan techs since this video (it’s funny watching me run up but especially down the stairs now lol), but I’ll check those videos out! I also realized how bad of an idea selling on day 2 was almost immediately after doing it, but I decided to leave it in the video anyway because I thought it was funny and I don’t think anyone will ever repeat that mistake 😂
just wanted to comment saying this was super fun to watch! i love having something like this to put on in the background and listen to as i do work and this playthrough was a blast to power through with- i know why some people would find it boring but i thought this was super chill especially for lethal company. thanks for the tips on playing solo as well!!!
thank you for your support and your feedback! as someone who enjoys this kind of content myself I’m super happy to be providing that background noise in the same way others have done for me. I like filming and editing these kinds of videos too, so I’ll for sure be making more of them soon!
Glad I found this video and your channel! I honestly don’t watch challenge videos since most people are genuine try hards who don’t say much, but your voice is soothing and you give such helpful tips to the gameplay! And you’re a sushi chef! Omg! Keep up the good work :)
I super appreciate what the tryhards are capable of, but I’m perfectly fine with being competent enough to serve as proof of concept for my challenge ideas lol. Ideally, someone would take my challenges to the next level for me, and I would love that! Thank you for your kind words, and I hope to continue to put out videos that you’ll enjoy :) more longform challenge videos like this coming soon!
About what you said at 1:20:15 regarding whom does content such as your cater to, I can vouch that I enjoy this video far more than regular 'funny haha' lethal company contents because I can keep working on my 9-5 while hearing what you say and picking up useful information (and occasional glance at your venture is also fun, familiar, and intriguing without taking too much of my attention). So for that, thank you.
I’m glad you enjoy this type of video! these are super chill for me to produce too, way more than the more edited shorter videos I’ve been doing recently. I’m happy you watched/listened to enough of this video to even catch what I said at that timestamp, and I appreciate you for sharing your feedback with me! 🙏 I’ll be uploading more long run videos like this soon 🫡
not much counterplay for forest giants in solo unfortunately. Jesters and ghost girls definitely make you leave the moon a lot sooner than you'd like, but I read somewhere that the bracken won't aggro on you for staring at them in solo! Which doesn't help if they've already snapped your neck, but it's something cool to keep in mind if it's actually true (haven't tested it yet)
@sheffaustingames its true. In solo bracken is very easy, most easiest entity in solo, just remember to check your back and dont go to places where you saw bracken
I enjoyed watching this very much. Even if there wasn’t too much going on. The only runs I see are the super edited ones and they don’t even take it seriously and or know what they’re doing. As well as them screaming their heads off whenever they encounter any threat. I guess it’s more for their audience but point is I enjoyed this and I hope to see more
Thank you for sharing! I’m getting a lot more love on this video than I thought and I will definitely be uploading more runs like this as a result 🙏 I actually like making these more than the more edited down stuff so I’m glad people actually like this type of video! More longplay “skill & chill” videos coming soon 🫡
For fighting the Mimic with any set of stairs, but Titan especially with it's long set, stand half way down one set and hit the Mimic over the railing as it's traveling down or up the adjacent set. You will be completely safe doing this and can get some free hits in. However, you only get about 1 free hit per level, so you have to move down or up the stairs along with it and keep smacking it. Took out 3 Mimics back to back with this technique solo.
For me, Titan is fine under any conditions other than eclipsed, so I just stay there every day that I can. Eclipsed is manageable, but carries a high risk of losing all scrap. Solo Lethal is a nice change of pace when servers don’t want to load or I want a more immersive challenge. Just hit 800 EXP, so I’m finally feeling pretty comfortable with all the monsters and maps.
I agree! the only reason to not go here is mostly for variety’s sake tbh. The loot is just too good and the entrances are just too close to the ship to not be the most efficient pick every time
super safe and that extra hour or so spent NOT waiting for the dropship on the planet could be the difference between leaving the moon alive or not, or having enough time to make that one extra trip
1:20:20 It's for me who is currently fixating on Lethal Company after seeing a random video, had to take two breaks bc my attention span is too short to watch it in one sitting and "brain needs it's constant food of new info", and am probably gonna use it to fall asleep for the next few days bc your voice is really nice for it
I appreciate your support! 🙏 I’m here because I also fixated on Lethal Company after my initial exposure, and saw an opportunity to double down on that fixation through making videos. So I’m super happy to be here!
I’m glad you like it! I also make sure I’m the one carrying the toy robot in my runs so other people don’t even have the chance of letting that sound play, lol
If you're keen for a deep dive video, Illusory Wall just did a video on the VOW bridge, and has a bunch of other tid bits of info on the video. They mostly do videos on the Souls Series, but they've touched on Lethal Company and may do more in the future.
I’ve been recommended this video quite a few times now, especially after my recent duo run video with Larry where we broke the bridge lol. Will check it out! Also a fan of the Souls games
Im pretty sure that the actual night time starts at 6:00 ish, afaik any spawns before that are just the games way of prgoressively spawning in outside enemies and the spawn rate just ramps up at night time.
that would make sense! In my head I divided daytime and nighttime as “time when outside enemies can spawn” and “time when they can’t”. the Miraheze wiki shows the spawn rates over time of all the maps, which is neat!
when u think abt it 60 hours is insane but it js kinda flew over my head bc im so used to that being a norm in this game bc all my friends have over 150 hours and also great vid lol the solo runs
I THOUGHT I was a gamer until I learned how many hours my friends have in certain games... My highest on-record hours for a game is 349 for Dead by Daylight, and that' s not only low compared to my friends' 1k/2k+ hours in their favorite games, but it's also low for the average dbd enjoyer LOL. My most played game is probably Super Smash Brothers Melee though since I used to host local tournaments and smashfests for a few years, but I have no way of accurately calculating my playtime for that game
Watching you leave early was getting to me but I understand it was to play safe. I loved this vid and cringed when you died to the mimic with all your scrap. Your voice is so calming and I’ll definitely check out more of your content. Keep up the great work!
I was still kinda new to the game and very new to solo runs at the time when I recorded this, so I just went with what instincts told me and that was to be on the safer side of risk management lol I’d like to think I can do better than just quick in-and-outing now that I have a lot more time in the game + more time in solo play, and you’ll get to see more of that in my upcoming uploads! more solo/duo longplays coming this week
I feel like going to Titan without having to pay is in line with the spirit of the challenge, as I see it. The point is to loot as much as possible on the most difficult moon, & I feel like having to pay each time you go there is counterproductive & just not as much fun. For this type of run, I find it more entertaining to just see how many credits a solo runner can get going to Titan repeatedly. I don't want to mentally have to add or subtract the fees paid from the total in order to know the actual loot value. Anyway, that's my argument, but I'm open to counterpoints! 😃
that’s why I did it this way for this run! having to pay for titan each time is a more hardcore variant that I’d be down for now, but not one I was entirely down for at the time no one had done a titan only run prior to this so I ran things this way first so the community and I could figure out if it needed adjustments later I’m glad you enjoyed the video as is, thank you for sharing :)
I think theirs a few high quota runners that I’ve learned some solid info from. They don’t make advice vids like wurps but watch their movements for better scraping methods. I’ve watched toast a few times and he’s pretty solid. Edit: the name is Bread I mixed it up with another ytber.
As a viewer, I watch these types of videos all the time. Right now, I'm designing characters for a new comic I'm making, I listen to this while drawing. I can't tell you something I don't know why myself, but these videos entertain me, even when nothing in the video is going on. You seem pretty chill, I hope some of this helps 'ya. PS: As a solo Lethal Company player as myself, the best thing to keep me going is to make a joke once in a while, like laughing if I die or showing my cat my progress.
I’m glad to be a part of your workflow! do you post your comics anywhere? would love to drop ya a follow! I’ve done a bit more solo play since I uploaded this challenge and talking and joking with myself helps a lot. Might adopt a rubber ducky-type approach based on your cat strat though, because that’s something I haven’t thought about 👀 Thank you for the tip, and thank you for sharing your story with me! 🙏
Dude, your videos are awesome, i love to watch them. However I want to note a few things about the solo runs The first one: i don't know about that much but as i know from my multiple solo runs i NEVER expierinced ghost girl. So, from that i can say that ghost girl DO NOT appear in solo runs, like she exslusive for the multiplayer runs. The second one: bracken Will not attack you in solo if you watch to long on them. In solo bracken's danger level of ai will fall to danger level as a spore lizard. So in solo just remember to check your back (if you saw him) and dont go to places where he rans to after you spotted him. This is all things i want to talk about and share. I hope this tips Will help you to be more valuable solo asset to the company)
I appreciate the tips! I’ve also learned some other things about solo play like snare fleas not killing you on it’s first trap and coil heads not being able to open doors even if the door’s locked. I don’t think I’ve experienced a ghost girl in a solo run on vanilla either, only on modded moons. Will keep an eye out though and let you know if we’re basing that point off experience! good luck with your future solo runs, and thank you for stopping by :)
thank you! 🙏 I started doing solo runs because when the game first came out people believed they were impossible and I didn’t believe that. I’m glad a handful of other players didn’t either and are putting their runs out too. Just gotta play a bit differently!
Thank you! I try to reply to all the comments as a small token of gratitude for people taking the time to leave one in the first place. The fact that people even like watching me and my friends play video games enough to do that is surreal to me, and replying to comments feels like the least I can do to show that I’m thankful for everyone’s time by giving them some of mine 😬 other than continuing to upload videos, of course!
thank you for the sub! I made this video with the intention to be listened to rather than watched, so I’m ecstatic that so many people are watching/listening in this way 🙏
7:24 I know it's not an instant-kill but this reminded me of one game I had where I told my crew "I'm gonna take a quick peek in the [Experimentation] fire exit" and then immediately aggro'd a thumper the moment I got inside
I don’t know what possessed me to shuttle everything back and forth in the beginning when I could have just dropped everything off the edge and minimized my travel time, I should know better than that 😂 At least I figure it out at some point during the video
Hey! Just found your channel and honestly really enjoying it. Great video, flow, and I like how you don't put obnoxious music in the background either. Only problem is that having 2 adds play every 10-15 minutes is pretty annoying. But! I get it, you're on that RU-vid cash grind. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more.
I’m glad you enjoy the video! Unfortunately that’s just how youtube handles ads for longer videos 😅 I don’t get to choose how often ads play on a video for someone, the only difference now is that I get something for it rather than not more long runs like this coming soon!
I don’t know if it’d be a popular idea but it would be cool to see another go at this now after you’ve gotten even more experience the last couple months, Titan is really interesting to see with how dangerous it is and how big the emphasis on getting in and out asap
what is the idea behind these if you mind explaining, is it to go until quota is too high or until you die? i have seen a few of these type videos but they always seem to have different rules, example (one was until they die) another (reach over 2k quota) -- this one was multiplayer tho. is it to see how far you can reach in quota? (you did ask the question of how well a solo can do on titan but does that mean doing multiple runs to high quota to get a average or is it to try and just see how long till you die?)
for this one I wanted to see how many quotas I could complete by myself! so just a base game run with the restriction of solo play it’s fun coming up with different challenges for this game, and it’s even better when people like them enough to try them for themselves!
absolutely, would love to see more people try it out! That’s why I upload these challenges, to show people different ways to play the game No need to credit me though, the first person I’ve seen to do a map-exclusive run was Thalonius with her experimentation only run, and I just borrowed that concept to do Titan instead! We’re likely not the only ones to do it either Let me know when you upload your video though, I’d love to watch!
furthest ive ever gotten doing this was to a 1300 profit quota, got screwed over with three eclipsed titans in a row Edit: I started on the free planets and went to titan by second quota, i didnt have titan as a free planet to add to difficulty
three eclipses in a row is rough! I thought about doing the first quota normally but then it wouldn’t be titan only. Next time I do this I’ll buy jetpacks between rounds so I still have to make at least 700 each sell round
yeah that decision was a combination of sleep deprivation and being excited about speedrun strats, not realizing that going over quota on that sell would just give me a new quota LOL I should have landed and left 100% of the time if I just wanted to sell what I had 😂
I haven't watched much of the video yet but I just thought it was interesting you were using some relatively slow stair movement. You can actually jump onto a small ledge on the wall and then down to the first platform and then down to the ship. I really enjoyed the chill atmosphere though.
this was pretty early on into my lethal company endeavors, I’ve since adopted the way faster titan strats lol. Hoping to showcase more of what I know now when I upload more longplays this week!!
May I ask how do you start a solo mission. I love playing with groups, but to bring in extra tension do a solo run, that would really be scary. But can you tell me how to start one and what option one must do.? Thanks.
Tip: Dont scan so often, the more you scan the bigger of a chance the ghost girl will have to spawn, so if you dont want to run into her so quick i suggest not scanning so often on the higher planets.
thunderstore mod manager app! it’s a lot easier to pick and choose your mods from there compared to manually installing them can easily switch between different modpacks and vanilla too. I play on a different modpack every time when I’m not playing vanilla
32:20 That *probably* wasn't the ghost girl and was just ambient noise since the ghost girl (in solo) spawns less often/haunts less often. Not impossible for her to spawn but very unlikely.
yeah I’ve since gotten better at discerning what actual haunts sound like vs similarly sounding ambient sounds, which helps a lot when trying to extend my time on a moon!
Bro when I did my first solo play I can so relate to the want to just leave as soon as possible because it’s just so worrying about what you haven’t seen then what you have because you don’t have other people cheating you on
you don’t lose a day by going to the company planet, at least in terms of your deadline! it does add a day to your day counter in the end of run stats though
Why dont you just drop the loot off the ledge without a ladder? I always do that and it speeds it up a lot since it all drops down onto that larger platform near bottom of stairs.
because this was super early on in my Lethal Company journey, didn’t really know the strats back then! Which makes it extra funny to me seeing that this is one of my best performing videos. I got a LOT of steps in on those stairs here 😂
(Obviously it's a game, but we're gonna ignore that for a sec) 15:45 how does the fire exit on day 2 on the first run of titan work? the hall literally wraps around behind fire exit door.
you know what… that is a SUPER valid point 😅 maybe the entrances are actually portals and not actually doors, which is why we never actually see them open despite being able to open doors inside the facility just fine the interiors aren’t at the bottom of the map for “game design” reasons, they’re actually down there and you’re actually teleporting to those zones whenever you go through a door (that’s all I got, lmao)
Been following Insym since the early Phasmophobia days, love that he’s loving Lethal Company too! He just tried the Ironman challenge today also so I’m happy about that 😬
If you need to sell early, say on the 2nd day like you did in first quota, why not just go back down to Titan, and leave without going in in order to advance the day safely.
showering doesnt actually combat ghost girls in the way people think! the ghost girl can only spawn behind you, and the shower glass counts as walls, so she just cant spawn around you when you're in the shower. works the same way if you just keep your back to a wall!
I just learned this info recently and will be using it to extend my runs even when I’m haunted! Cool to know that that’s the actual reason for the shower’s effectiveness. Seemed like a stretch for ghost repellent to be an intentional built-in mechanic for a cosmetic item
Someone may have said this already but rerolling weather still works, you just have to save and quit the game to have it actually do it. Once you return the weather will be updated
Today my friend kept on doing rend map, and then later i managed to do titan. You wouldn’t believe when i said that we had mansion layout 2 times in a row.
How come to avoid selling at lower prices, you land & immediately take off? Though wasting a day, I think you gain more than selling low, re-looting and selling high, no?
I always die to brackens and thumpers because they are just pests, Brackens never back off when i look at them and I end up either not looking at them for long enough or They dash at me because I look at them for too long and thumpers always kill me because I never hit my shovel hit and it just becomes and ankle breaking experience with my whole team including me dead if we are all somewhat close together edit: Are brackens guaranteed every time because I always seem to run into them
Brackens aren’t guaranteed, you might just be unlucky with getting them LOL. Unless you’re going to Vow a bunch, because they have a super high spawn rate on that map Brackens aren’t so bad in solo because they won’t rush you for staring at them, but it can be hard to deal with them in squad play if the looking isn’t coordinated. If it helps, the bracken will only attack every 20ish seconds, so when you make him back off you can know that you’ll be safe from him for a little bit thumpers also got nerfed in this latest patch but I still die to them a lot since I rarely bring a shovel with me lmao, so good luck with those 😅
@@sheffaustin the fire exit must've had been real close to the main entrance because the timing was wayyyy too tight, only things that can move that fast across the facility are unseen coilheads and popped jester
yeah the extra time saved by doing that helps a lot, especially in solo! and especially now in some of the harder challenge runs I’m doing (will be uploading some starting this week)
Instead of going to company after day 2 could you have just landed on titan and then instantly left? edit: I meant to avoid the 30% selling price reduction
lol absolutely! I’ve been getting roasted for that decision every day since I uploaded this 😂 I made that decision as a combined result from lack of sleep and misunderstanding how a speedrun strat worked. Left it in though because I thought it was a funny mistake, and especially one someone with my hours should never make hahah
I agree with this. The ship being so close to the entrances + the fire exit being so accessible on titan is huge. Also all three maps tend to get stupidly dangerous before any of them even get close to reaching their max power levels, and since they all spawn similar enemies that doesn’t make titan any more dangerous. Titan might even be safer because it gets the facility map most of the time! I can understand arguments for dine not being so bad though. Fire exit is pretty accessible and also no masked enemies. I heard Wurps likes Rend also since it doesn’t get turrets
