To make a proper KiBa, you pour the banana nectar _first_ and only then the cherry The banana nectar is heavier and more viscous, so when you pour the cherry juice into it, it has to punch through the banana and they stay separate more, balancing the flavours It also makes nice patterns, which makes it look nice The way Uyen made it, with the cherry fist, makes it so the juices mix more, creating a more uniformly red banana slurry with less prominent cherry.

Then add some Batida de Coco or Malibu and it will be perfect. 😉😋

Radler means bike rider, which many Germans do on weekends. We embark on long bike rides, and when you have “pit stops” you don’t want straight up beer. Watering it down with either lemonade makes it less alcoholic. You can ride on with a little tiny buzz, but still traffic able

Known as shandy in the UK.
@Rabijeel
@Rabijeel 5 месяцев назад
Lemme clarify: "Bicicle Rider". It is not the "cool Hells Angels Drink" - it is the opposite for some. And Radler is no Beer - as Whisky-Cola is not Whisky. Radler is Radler, and Whisky Cola is Whisky Cola. It is ok if you prefer that. Eitherr, you are more of a physical Guy and prefer to deal with the physical tocxicity of the Alcohol or you are more of a ... mental... nope.... psychic... no.... lets say theoretical Person that rather deals with the emotional toxicity coming with the consumption of it.

Eierlikör and eggnog are very different. Eierlikör is much thicker and tastes mostly like sugar. Eggnog OTOH is usually the consistency of milk, probably because milk is the major ingredient. Eggnog also contains spices: cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.

It's interesting seeing what is the same and what is different between British and German drinks. Lots are really similar but some are really weird to me like the banana nectar and some of the cola mixes. the radler is called shandy in the UK and super popular in summer or if you don't want to get drunk. Fun fact my first ever alcoholic drink in a pub was a half a weak shandy (a half is a small glass, half a pint or about 250ish mls) when I was maybe 12-13 and my grandma bought it me.

Beer & lemonade makes a Shandy. Copy Paste: What is a Shandy? A traditional British shandy is a mixture of beer and lemon soda, most commonly a 50/50 ratio. If you like more beer, you can add less soda and vice versa. (Thanks to my niece, Chrissie, who worked as a bartender in the UK (amongst other places), and happens to be living in Sweden now, for the details on a British shandy).

I fell in love with cider when visiting the UK. Strongbow was one of my favorites. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined when I came back to Germany and realized that the cider or Apfelwein sold in Germany doesn't taste anything like the ones in the UK. And also the same company of the Apfelwein you are drinking sells Apfelwein+Cola (it's the white can). So definitely true and not made up by your BF. And yes, it tastes a bit better than the other German ciders 😂

I think you missed some very statement drinks from Germany: Club-Mate (tastes like old ashtrays I think but many love it) Bionade (the original herb-flavour, a herbal lemonade) a proper Hollerschorle (Elderflower-Schorle) with a high-quality syrup - and while I usually also tend to drink zero sugar softdrinks, elderflower syrup is something where the taste definitely suffers when done without sugar (also, buy it from a local farm or from the Biomarkt, they have pretty good ones!) Vodka-Shot with Ahoi-Brause Ficken (a berry-esque liquor) Sekt-Mate Mead (honey-wine) Federweißer (veeery sweet, almost non-alcoholic fresh wine, only available during the designated season) Paulaner-Spezi (there's a HUGE difference between Mezzo Mix and a proper Spezi, especially the Paulaner one) BUt I really enjoyed the video :)
@elricdotah

Like wine, cider comes in sweet and sour versions. Both are made the same, you get some juice, add yeast, the yeast turns sugar into alcohol and for the sweet version you stop the yeast before all the sugar has turned to alcohol and for the sour vesion you just let it run until all sugar has been turned to alcohol. Sadly in germany the cider ('Äppelwoi') ALWAYS is made in the sour version, while nearly everywhere else you can also get the sweet version. In the grocery store you can often get cider from other countries and then you probably can get the sweet version too.

It is "illegal" to not drink it at once. I knew bars where they kick you out for this.... or they say it and don't let a "no" count until you repeate it at last 10 times ^^

The expectations vs. reality differential on eggnog is pretty intense. Try a sweet cream liqueur like Bailey’s, 1:2 with vanilla rice or oat milk, and add a half shot of Fireball or cinnamon liqueur for flavor. It’s still creamy but less viscous, and the absence of clove and nutmeg makes it taste less like a spice rack or medicine cabinet.

Over here in the UK, beer with lemonade is called shandy. Quite a few people drink lager with lime cordial as well. Jagermeister tastes exactly like Benylin cough syrup with a dash of vodka. Bad memories. I tried Mezzo Mix in Germany during an exchange visit over 30 years ago - never knew it was Coke mixed with Fanta. You missed an opportunity to try an English traditional drink that was very much in line with what you did - beer mixed with English cider (like Strongbow), which we call Snakebite.

Elderflower is pretty popular here in the UK. We also have jager, but it's almost exclusively drunk by students - often as jagerbombs. You need to come to the UK and try proper cider: Strongbow is not considered cider here! You should avoid scrumpy though, it's really strong and sort of farmyardy. I'd recommend a sweet cider or even a rosé one for your tastes - Thatchers make a nice rosé cider and also some flavoured ones like blackcurrant and orange. We definitely don't have that fanta and coke concoction though! It looks like the sort of thing a child would make... 😆 My friend got married in Germany and there was a pre-mixed apfelschorle that was very nice. I'd probably call it appleade in english, but I've never seen anything similar here.

I mainly drink "radler" alcohol free. I like it as a tart lemonade, but when i drink alcohol, i want a bit more kick in my drink, and when i don't... Well I don't want any. So beer for beer times, and alcohol free Alster for day to day. Oh, also i usually call it Alster, which is short for Alsterwasser - basically hamburgian River water. Used to be the standard name for it in Hamburg and here in it's wider area, but it's lost a lot of ground to the Radler name, mostly due to almost all drinks nowadays being marketed interregionally and thus having "radler" on the bottle.

Bembel is great, but I prefer the Gold one with Quitte (don't know the English name). It is kind of my favorite Festivaldrink, since I can't really drink beer.

Making a drink from bread is very German - crying into my Kwass... If you don't know it, it's a drink also gained from fermenting bread and is common in some Slavic countries and the Baltic.

Woodruff syrup is a strange thing. Atm it's woodruff season, I always make my own syrup. People tasting it for the first time are nearly always surprised that the sirup is neither green nor tastes like that synthetic stuff you can buy in the shop.

Weißbier und Zitronenlimo, das ist ja ein noch größeres Sakrileg als Helles Bier mit Zitronenlimo. Wheat bear and lemonade, that´s a bigger act of sacrilege then normal beer with lemonade.
