The panels have been running for 30 years. My Tesla is 100% charged in 15 seconds, the neighbors also bring their Teslas. It even works at night! I now even sell electricity to the energy company. They have shut down the nuclear power plant. That's good!!
Came here just to see the content creator get torched in the comments. This guy didn't even attempt to communicate basic electrical theory or how photons encourage electron transmission in those DVDs. I thought it was going to be a passive water heater or something potentially effective.
300 volts, and 3000 watts? I doubt it. That would mean each DVD would have 10 amps of current available. Sunlight has about 1000 watts of light energy per square meter max. 2 doors would have an area of about 3 square meters. The 3000 watt claim would imply an efficiency of 100%. Modern Solar panels have an efficiency of around 20%. If this were actually true, satellites would be using this tech. My conclusion, bogus claim.

Yes, ordinarily 3000 watts mean the DVDs are operating at an efficiency of 100%. But these are Blu-Rays, which we all know store 5x more than regular DVDs. Thus this is an efficiency of 20.

The math does not math here. Each one would have to put out several amps at 1.56 volts. Each one would be close to the power of 5 D cell batteries for this to be possible.

Where I come from we point solar panels toward the sun. I noticed you guys aimed it away according to the shadow. Also there are storage batteries in the system because solar panels generally can't provide the amperage to efficiently run devices on their own.

Marvelous enginuity. Can't help but wonder what happens if the panel gets dirty, dust, sand, bird poo etc... be a shame to ruin that work of art. Just do the math. Sunlight has 1kW to 1 sq.meter. Efficiency of a respectful solar cell available is .33:1. Door panels add up to 4 sq.meter. 1kW x 4 sq.m x .33 = 1.32kW is not 3kW as it claims to be. We could be fooled if they clam 1.3kW and not 3kW.
I like the project estimate 200-300v and someone built one door equal to 600w x 2 =1200w at 220-280v, so this is closer to real! Plus, over time, the plexiglass can be yellowing from sunburning? That is why solar panels used glass? But still a great DIY Solar project.
Ok, let's expose the silicon by slightly rubbing the surface and basically not exposing anything. Now let's try this cd voltage generation by touching the aluminum paper with the plastic surface. Yeah, power out of plastic! In the end, I am amazed on all the the work and budget to build... this. But you know what, guys? Except from the cd part, using actual cheap solar panels this would actually work.
Er, what silicon? Cds are made of clear plastic with an aluminium film for the data. No silicon. Nothing that could work like a solar panel, ever. Solar cells are rather complex and difficult to make and this is just nonsense.

@@FrrancuZz Да, пластик - это диэлектрик. Диэлектрики - это материалы, которые могут ослаблять электрическое поле, не проводя электричество. Диски, из которых состоит эта солнечная панель, сделаны из поликарбоната, "пластика". Однако поликарбонат не является диэлектриком.

Bei dem im Video scheint es ja zu funktionieren 🤷♀ Manche geben die Physik einfach auf 🤣 Eine CD/DVD liefert selber schon Strom❓ Mal selber testen 🤣 habe eine uralte CD von MEDION gefunden, aber das Multimeter sagt nicht wirklich viel 🤣
i think we just need one CD to see if this works. If one CD can produce volt, then i say this is legit. I wish i can find that type of CD now to test this, its quite rare.
