One of the greatest characters I've been able to play... Dementus. Playing the villain and bringing a chilling nature to someone was so much fun, all while working with the great George Miller.

Chris is such a specimen of a man, but the nose and nipple piercings really made me think he's demented. Despite Thor overlooking so much of Hemsworth's worth, this role was top-notch, finally giving him a villain to play. This film was truly so much better than what the box office numbers suggest. Damn.

I’m probably the only one who hasn’t watched this movie yet, but I can’t wait to see him in this role!!! He can play so many characters and has such a great talent for inserting comedy, so to see him in this kind of role is going to be a treat!!

@@jells31 I am not calling for any awards, but he did nailed it. It's a fun, over the top cult leader. He steals his scenes(because he is a cult leader needing to be the center of attention) and feels as much the main character as the actual main character. The film is solid, not ground breaking, but fun, and Chris adds a solid contribution. My issues with it are the CGI scenes, when Miller is so damn good with practical effects.

Chris as Dementus was incredible. Maniacal, comical and distinctive. Any chance I could see Furiosa at the theatre, I went and was emotionally impacted every time. Thankful for Miller and the entire cast for enriching my life with great art. "We're in a black spiral here. We can't keep up supply. Everyone is saying they're being swindled and short-changed. Everyone is saying it's my fault. It's everyone's fault." Gosh damnit, I love this movie.

I truly think this is the best performance I've seen from you, man. The fact that you think you have him figured out from the beginning, only for the layers to progressively get peeled back on him as the story goes on, was one of my favorite aspects of the film. The voice, the physicality, and the way he constantly struggles to maintain control over his situation as he spirals out of control...amazing work! Wonderful performance!

I've seen 'Furiosa' several times now and watching Chris Hemsworth's performance, not to mention that fantastic monologue at the end, is just incredible. Oscar worthy for sure. This is the one that should be best picture. As a filmmaker, it's very inspiring.

I am not a hardcore max mad fan but I still went to watch this in the cinemas. I don't regret it. The cinematography was amazing. Each scene with Chris and Anya, you couldn't take your eyes off. They were really interesting characters.

The Oscar campaign should get going soon. Dementus is the most iconic character I’ve ever witnessed in a theater. The pain this dude is constantly feeling and his need to project fascinates me. I wanna give him a cautious hug. Would love to see him return in a 40-Day-Wasteland-War film interacting with Max and coping with power slipping out of his fingers before going off to die. I think Dark Dementus and Mad Max are very similar men with different coping mechanisms.

She played two roles in Furiosa. One was the gnarly-looking member of Dementus' gang, and the other was one of the Vuvalini who helped Furiosa's mother chase down Furiosa's kidnappers at the beginning of the movie.

I've always enjoyed behind the scenes stuff, learning what actors go through to create the characters and how the crew brings everything to life. I love that thought process of how you come up with Dementus's voice, especially the source of inspiration

It’s all in the lips and teeth and how you’ve learned to whistle to begin with. Or to quote Lauren Bacall “Just pucker your lips and blow” Probably a misquote there. I’ve known how to whistle since, frek, long before I was ten. I was taught how to since it would grab attention, more specifically it grabbed our family’s dog’s attention. Once the dog and I got trained on how to be with each other, I expanded my whistles to not only get his attention, but if I needed him to come to me, or if I wanted him to just pop his head up so I knew where he was at at the walking path. We had to train since I was a scrawny kid and he was part Alaskan Malamute, part Great Dane, and part Grey Wolf. If I didn’t train, he could have yanked my shoulder out of socket by accident.

What I read from Dementus is that he was a father trying to break the cycle of abuse with his children---who was kind and loving, and then the world ended and his kids died and he didn't, so he took with that pain a kind of nihilism, but it slips through sometimes at the beginning. Fantastically layered role.

Idk if Chris actually reads these but maybe a publicist will get it to him. I hope Mr. Hemsworth knows how significant this role was, how impactful his performance was, and how most of the fans are convinced that not only is this some of his best work but no one else could have successfully pulled of the role the way he did. It was the perfect balance of kooky, silly, horrifying, disgusting, and mesmerizing all of which were combined to create a character that fit perfectly within the Mad Max world. I know the box office wasn't necessarily what producers wanted but to me, this role and the movie were artistic, visual, and story telling successes.

You could tell from watching all of his ,behind-the-scenes footage from the avengers to Thor, he’s always dancing and having fun while he works his craft. he has a beautiful spirit. The moment you came on screen and I saw the nose and heard the voice. I had trouble going along with it. But, when he became Red Dementus....I was fully invested. You blew me away.

the scene where dementis captures them both, the entire sequence, is such a brilliant BRILLIANT scene. Never before was i both rooting a guy to survive, hated the bad guy, had tears in my eyes, as well as goosebumps. Seeing how this scene came together, and it being the second scene you guys did. phenomenal.
