Just wanna say preacher had to conquer his fear with the ole hurst y’all love to see it can’t wait to see a trip with y’all in it taking the boat fishin
The compartment on the sides is for the spare tire underneath behind front seat the space in front of bed could be for coolers sink and cabinet small fridge porta potty etc
Some drinking water, a cooler, camp stove, tub with cookware, plates, cups and cutlery and maybe a power station like a small jackery - handy for charging phones or plugging in laptop, lights or a 12v electric blanket. Then you would be set for long weekend camping.
I thought I was the only one doing this haha, I’ve been a grave digger 3 years and bought a ‘92 Cadillac hearse (brougham) off of the cemetery. Mines a little more involved, (cause I overthought a lot) I’m just about done with my conversion, I stripped all original stuff out to add storage and get rid of the smell. just got the insulation and ventilation done, I have a huge roof rack made from c Chanel (40 square feet of space) , gonna maybe throw solar on it. I even have a custom tow hitch to carry my dirt bike around. Planning on living out of it for the summer and cruising out of Oregon. Yours looks great! If you’d like to swap ideas or have questions let me know, mine was a nightmare frame to work with.
Looks great! On the rod storage, look for a VW Bus roof rack or maybe a VW Squareback roof rack, either of those might be long enough for mounting a rod tub & would probably be about the right length that would look good on the hearse. If you go with a roof rack, you should build a fake wooden coffin for additional roof top storage. Would kind of complete the hearse look if you're not trying to avoid that route. Call the car The Bass Reaper/Fish Reaper or something like that.
install door solenoids to open the rears on a switch. Like street rod with shaved door handles. Also that dead space could house a fridge, power bank, gear etc
Love it brother! This is definitely some Kentucky ingenuity! Lol. My thoughts for a rod holder- mount a rod holder on the roof! Get you a piece of PVC big enough for a few rods, paint that bad boy, slap some stickers on it, and bam you’re good to go 😎 if you wanna go Turkey hunting this spring we should collab 👀
I had a random thought to see one of these specifically after we had a hearse come into the car yard where I work in Greensboro, NC and sure enough yours was the first video. Very intriguing. 🤔
@FishinWithTate I agree with Midwest Madness on the pvc on the roof! You could paint it and make it look real nice, Maybe throw some googan stickers on it and call it done!
I think that is eventually part of the plan! Since I did find this rather cheap on FB marketplace, there have been some other repairs that I’m working on rn just to get it in working order for some cold weather camping coming soon!
My hearse camper build is going to have a mini fridge, tv and a small sink with 2 five gallon containers under it and a water pump that charges thru USB
We had a friend who was a midget that lived in a hearse for a few years when he paid child support. He had another roof on top of the regular roof with the ceiling cut out. He could stand up in it. He had a regular apartment air conditioner put into it. He rented a small spot from a friend of his and plugged in the air conditioner at the house.
I do recomend getting a better quality carpet thats easier and better to clean as well as more durable. Especially since you plan on using it as a camper.
Can you open the back door from inside??? Why not get side door inner handles & fit them to make it so you can open from the inside. Put a sun roof on the hearse 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
