It's so refreshing to watch a youtube channel about interior design that's hosted by an actual interior designer with actual clients. There aren't too many of these around. That reno project is chef's kiss!
That means so much! Thank you 🥰 I wanted to stand out as someone who’s a practicing professional. I know there are many DIY’ers that are designers on here, and there isn’t anything wrong with that / but they don’t have the same impact of how to do it correctly, or to code. I’m glad I don’t go unnoticed 🥰
I'm a kitchen and bath designer and I love everything you are using, yes sir! I need to look into the marble wrap, what an amazing idea. Love the videos 🙌🏻🖤
Love, love, love this renovation! Every time I've told someone that I want to paint a bedroom black they've thought I was nuts, but look how warm, rich and beautiful this one looks. Well done, Design Daddy. Well done!
Wow this truly beautiful, and very well thoughtfully designed! I would have loved a full scan of the whole apartment both before and after. Maybe you can even more vids on this unit as a great case study! Beautiful beautiful job, even the light fixtures!
In doing miniature Reno breakdowns of each room of this project for instagram and TikTok with more quick in depth on each areas, I’ll see if I can make them on shorts here too 🤍
I absolutely love it! The only thing is I prefer a white bathroom so I can see whether it's clean thouroughly. I'm saving the video for my next renovation inspiration.
I think the very shallow kitchen condiment cabinet is a very clever use of a limitation - the best condiment cabinets have just enough depth to hold bottles and cans all laid out for you to see what you want and take them down without rummaging through endless layers of groceries and yet are covered by doors so they don’t gather dust or look untidy.
Everything is perfection 😍. I have the same taste in interior design. Nothing beats the combination of black (or dark brown) wooden panels and marble in the kitchen, so elegant and timeless ( and looks expensive)…and I looove a dark bedroom. The darker the better 😂. Congrats, beautiful work! 🎉
Thank you so much for watching. I love hearing people say the match my style! I know it’s not for everyone, but in my opinion a level of intimacy is unmatched with darker colours 🤫🤍
I was literally watching another vid when your notification came up. I closed that vid immediately! 😅 I am on the 3:53 mark on your video and I'm screaming like a groupie! 😍 THIS. IS. EVERYTHING!!! 😍❤ Ok, ok... let me continue the rest now...
I absolutely love everything!!! Your attention to detail truly displays what we as designers truly are…. Master problem solvers. This space is such a vibe!!! In addition, I’m excited to look into the marble wrap option for my clients. Thanks for sharing!!! Please continue to share your work. Love love lovvvvvve!!! ❤❤❤
You are so kind! Thank you so much for watching, and the kind worlds! I always practice what I preach! Pro shield is the company here, tell them Phoenix sent you! You will not be disappointed 🤍🙏🏼
@@mrphoenixgrey isn’t porcelain a good alternative for the countertops as well? Pls and ty. I want to add the beauty of marble in my space without the maintainance
Great work. Not entirely my style : a bit too much modern for my taste (I am an Art Deco and Industrial fanboy). But the level of details that you put into this project is definitely a statement of your skills and devotion to your work. Godspeed, Daddy.
That means the world! Thank you! I love a good art deco look personally 🥰 I actually have one coming up soon that includes some of these elements so stay tuned 🥰
thanks for sharing your project! turned out great! i just finished my condo remodel (sans designer)... and now have a huge appreciation for the knowledge and know how that designers bring. im trying not to be bummed about my kitchen outlets on the backsplash (vs hidden in the cabinetry). keep up the good work!!
Listen, I'll take a black kitchen over the white ones we're seeing any day of the week. I wouldn't do marble myself (cost/maintenance) but I can't deny it's absolutely stunning. Great work!
OK, I´m not into black kitchens and marble tops/backsplash at all, but this is a true masterpiece - both estetically and functionally. I´m also not into this estetics of the apartment in general, but this is so well done that I´m actually impressed. Simply stunning
Black kitchen...oh my God you nailed not only in functionality but in colors and materials. The coffee station idea was great so far. I will like to see more of your interior design work. Congratulation, best from Miami.
A decent colour theory palette I've seen so far but i wanted to see the sconces switched on in the bedroom to see that lovely green pop off against that black.
I like the outlets under the cabinets. We could do that (if we can ever get to renovating the kitchen. We're entering week three on the bathroom remodel...)
Love it! Seamless flow between elements. Perfect color choice with the black/emerald/rust orange. Finally a designer on RU-vid with similar taste to mine. Most importantly: great use of the space ergonomics. In other words, love the “aesthetics.” 😂
This is amazing 🤩…you must be extremely proud..I’m a black kitchen person myself…I hope to see this amazing project in media…deserves a huge audience ❤️
That means so much! Thank you! And this is just the start of many more in working on at the moment. I’m very proud considering I was told by so many I couldn’t do what I do 🥰🤍 I’ll be releasing smaller episodes on this on my instagram and TikTok this week
@@mrphoenixgrey you have an excellent approach to style but you also find a way to install utility..That is very unique from other designers…I think that you should be The City Kitchen Daddy…you should hit the morning show circuit…along with securing 1 celebrity client.. your presentation on this was flawless but I like when you “break” kinda SNL style..it just makes you so approachable…Aren’t you proud?…I didn’t even flirt with you this time..lol
This is absolutely fabulously done! I remember seeing your first demo on this on your Instagram and been waiting to see what it finally looks like, you killed it!
That means so much thank you! I operate internationally for my designs, so if you need assistant you can send me an email through my website and we can connect 🤍
This is really beautiful! I appreciate that you revealed the important, helpful, utilitarian and secret details; such good info for us who are not designers. But, I don’t appreciate the foul language. Save it for when it’s more appropriate as a cause should be.
Wow! Love it! We have very similar design ideas. Very clever kitchen details. Great explanations of everything, thank you. I am SO looking forward to having a black bedroom one day! You have great taste, I would hire you in a second! ❤ Please do more videos like this!
Absolutely love what you’ve done with this condo!!!❤I’m in love with the dark wall colours and I actually did my bathroom from ceiling to crown moulding to baseboard in a dark tone ( Farrow and Ball Hopper Head) and now I want to paint my entire house dark lol ( jk😂) maybe another room or bathroom will be enough. Please share the colour you chose here I’m curious as it looks like mine 😊thanks so much 😊
Many surfaces are very finger print prone, always check and see the sample so you can test it out. Flat colours are extremely prone to finger prints but I find details and wood grain within the surface will help hide them :) and this marble is a Calacatta Viola! We originally spec’d a Calacatta Monet that got sold from under us, so we wanted the fluidity of the veins to be almost like water either the chunks instead of a lighting bolt look
Absolutely gorgeous!! But: How much did all this cost? Would you do some videos on possibly integrating your brilliant ideas at a cost normal people can afford.
Love this design. A bit of constructive feedback from a video format perspective. Consider using more voice overs when showcasing design features. As much as we love your face, I want to drool over your beautiful *work* more. 😊 Embrace the B-roll! Linger on the finishes a bit more.
Daddy, the pot filler, why not incorporate a pot emptier too? I will never understand those, maybe to hang tea towel on? And the black sink would be a problem if they have hard water and not a water softener. BUT you used the blacken stainless, props for that. Props also for understating the exhaust fan, most use those as a focal point, which is another thing I do not understand. Props on the whole thing, it really is beautiful. Good thing you mentioned the wood graining on the cabinet facing, which doesn't show on the camera. And the warm rather than bluish undertone to the black bedroom. The pillars don't bother me at all because they look almost intentional with that style. Marble is not "a work of art". Maybe, "one of nature's most beautiful materials"? Love that vase on the countertop, it looks like it is all black but the light is hitting it from various angles. Pretty sure you can "age brass" fast with ammonia, it speeds up the process. Some ammonia in a plastic bag then tightly wrapped around the fixture should do it within a couple of hours, you only need the fumes. VERY NICE JOB. 😍
I loved this. 😍 Though I’m more a white colour fan, you have brought everything together so well. My only question is why didn’t you paint the cement pillar the same colour as the walls, to blend it in?
Legally you cannot support a cement column like this as concrete requires the ability to breathe. I’m going to do a video breakdown on this as it’s very important, brick is the same
Love those LED lights in the kitchen cabinets ! But I always wonder how hard it would be to replace them if they dont work anymore ... Would it be difficult to fix it?
The pop right out of they need to be replaced! Thankfully LED light life is much much longer than typical so you should be okay. But anything integrated or custom should have this capability, I made sure that when I worked with the millwork team that this is possible when we made this. Some integrations are no removable so just make sure ahead of time :)
I really like the lights inside the cupboards closet spaces. I might have missed it, but how do you get power to those lights? Battery, or did you run electrical?
You run electrical through the back when construction is going on, these LEDs require a low voltage hook up so the cords and attatchments are very minimal
I designed them and the millwork team custom make them for the space! But there is a company called Surfacing Solutions that I absolutely love and can do them in wood and paint grade that is gorgeous 🤍 tell them Design Daddy sent you
