Inventory manager, sales slip (shows what items you sold and how many), also sales/holidays where an item will be super popular and they always run out of them .
First saw a Vtuber playing this... was hoping it would use some more business related features, like having a ledger you could review, simple return on sales that is calculated, and even asset turnover... most idealistically, I was hoping it would have the feature of buying your stores products on credit, like Walmart and other stores; they basically get the product, credit accounts payable, and balance it out after selling the product. The only simulator game that tends to get close to what I would like is Big Ambitions, but even that is to varied... realistically, most business owners wouldn't be franchising into a few dozen markets, or so I would think, but it tends to be the most realistic there is, despite the lack of the above features... if I want to calculate asset turnover, I need to have an actual ledger I either write or type out, as prices for products change over time, and that would take far to much time later in that game...
If you have the time, it would be a good idea to go to steam and suggest it to the developer. It’s a solo dev game, and he listens to the community. I agree, that the back end of the job is missing. Admin and logistics is very important and is always missing in sim games. It’s infuriating
@@TemptressTeelia Perhaps after I buy it, I will recommend it, and besides, it requires a bunch of calculation and tracking that could lead to unnecessary spaghetti code; I suppose it would be fine, as there is only one store, but it is still more an extra feature you would add near the release or after release, as it doesn't really help in the game, at least from what I saw. Realistically, stores like Walmart have tens of thousands of transactions that would be impossible to track without such methods. There are other methods of tracking sales that are less accurate, yet more appropriate to smaller stores like in the game, but it still would be helping balance a book, despite buying all your stores stuff with cash and having the value update automatically with each sell, which would render the feature virtually useless, unless they release competition and you need to track the trend or the like.
The front corner by the registers would be good for books, if a shelf fits there. For stocking, you should keep one of each size box. I believe you can use any large box for any product that comes in a large box. Meaning you can use a whole frozen chicken box to move potato sacks. I think there's only like 3 or 4 different sized boxes, and you could probably fit them in the back corner of the storage by the door.
Put a regular cashier and a mirrored one and put them back to back like you see in many supermarkets. Do that twice and you might have yourself a pretty nice looking checkout corner.
24:09 take the front counter and flip it 180 degrees and put it behind the back counter. The cashiers will face away from each other but the customers will que from the same ends.
I would get the inventory mod. Just so you can see what you have in storage as well as on the floor. As well if you rotate your cashier's so that they line up on each side you can condense the space needed for them
You really need to organise that storage! You can have a lot more of the same product on the same shelf. If you restock your storage and then keep that stocked you dont have to run around in your store. The meta is storage gaming!
Love the video! I hope that the developers add so much detail to the game like health inspections, interactions with the customers. Customization or being able to create your on characters. Being able to change the workers so everyone doesn’t look alike. Maybe expansions like running your own bakery etc
@@dominic.h.3363 Must be a cost thing... I know some grocers in America used to have a book/magazine section in the front of the store, but they fazed those out and moved them to the back. I guess it was fazed because books were always an afterthought for purchasing, so it also increases chances of people seeing more pricy electronics, like window shopping; It is the same reason most stores have their clearance section at the back, as you need to pass a lot of product to get there, and stores like Costco tend to have random things scattered throughout, so long as you explore the store lol
@@Suzuki_Hiakura That might be a real strategy but you have to consider whether or not it is worth using books for that purpose. Barely anyone buys physical copies anymore, so using books as a target to pass by as many products as possible is not a great strategy. You have to place products at the back most people would want to buy, like bread, meat. Then most of them will pass by the rest of the store to get there.
I'd suggest unlocking stuff off camera so it goes faster and you don't need to focus on youtube friendly presentation but you have so many games you regularly upload content for and others to try undoubtedly keeping your queue a mile long it is a bit of a tall order even then. I have found this series strangely appealing though. Something to the gameplay loop of this one really does appeal to the inner ocd. If you question whether or not we like this content I usually watch videos on a smart tv in the background using a different account. Recently registered this one to go through and like videos for creators I appreciate and leave comments where they feel appropriate since I don't feel comfortable doing so with that one for security purposes. I found my way here to encourage you to continue the series.
i think a tag should appear on the shelf with a red X to symbolize that the item is out of stock. and instead of a tablet maybe a scan gun, you can the shelf tag (image of item) and it auto orders it
That rainbow book is A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field by James Clerk Maxwell. It's a classic written by the father of electromagnetism. Maxwell has been ranked as the 3rd greatest physicist who ever lived.
@comdo if you box up a item then through it then immediately end the shift or exit to the main menu it will duplicate and then you can get infinite money by selling this (please put this in your next store video!)
It would be very cool to have a proper product drop off area. I think there could be a extra area-unlockable, and upgradeable behind the storage room. We should request this because it could open up more employees. Basically what I’m suggesting is a loading bay in the back, where a truck can come and you-or the employees can unload the products and put them into the storage room. I would also like to have a storage room upgrade, and easier shelf organization. I hope the dev adds some of this in the future. Great game!
New subscriber here ! Just binged all your super market videos ! (Was looking for supermarket stuff and stumbled upon your videos ) Love the videos ! Can't wait for the next one ! As for the cashier's I think they would go back to back ?
I don’t know if you’re a person that adds mods to your game, but there are some much needed quality of life mods for this game. Auto price updater adjusts prices for market changes, inventory management on your pc to easily see quantity of items in stock making quick reorders, adding the ability to produce any empty box at will for any product allowing for easily reorganizing shelves without having to wait for similar box to be available, and others. I came across some videos showcasing the mods and how to use them, just tossing it out there for anyone interested in mods and don’t know they exist. I’ve been enjoying your play through.
A tablet is a great idea but I would also like to see a scanner tool that you scan a barcode on a shelf and enter the amount you need. This info gets sent to the computer to complete the order. This should also work on store room shelves. Stores near me do restocking with one of those gadgets.
I think if you want to move the cashiers and add another, you could do like Hobby Lobby, or Walmart, and have two registers, one in front of the other; I know Hobby Lobby does the mirrored register layout, while Walmart tends to be more spaced apart, though thats for personal checkout.
Camodo: Luv your video, was starting to crave an episode after none of it for 5 days! I find it absolutely hallerious that the dev didn't put in... all that women stuff with the shampoo update. Like most of the upgrades are BEER. I saw so many female NPCs too, you'd think stuff like that would naturally flow off the shelves??? Like poo-poo paper right??? Also uh..... Where are the other frozen fruits and wedgies??? Supermarket's lookin' like a quick stop not Wallermart style lmao
0:20 Hey Camodo can you post more of your grinding out in supermarket sim even if it isn't as exciting as the main episodes it would still be entertaining. I like watching you stock the shelves, make orders, and run the store
Well, I look every day to see if he made a new grocery store video and I’m fine if he does wobbly life or BMG Drive, but I go crazy when he does grocery store
Hey comodo idk if you knew this if not here's a tip when you go to type a price and you go to make something say $7.00 you can just type 7 and hit okay it'll register it as 7.00
Make like a cave area for books. Like how the corner was closed off and there was space. You could put the shelfs back to back w/t bookshelf. But it's just an idea. Anyways good luck grinding! Average gameplay off camera lol
I would get a mirrored registers and put it behind two of the ones you have, only to open up floor space, instead of side by side.. The customers will have separate lines. Make them Vertical not Horizontal
