Quick cheater way to do a button to make a wrist smaller: Sandwich a loop of elastic (or a hair elastic because they come in pretty colors) in the seam then add a button. It'll create a little pleat when buttoned...and if you don't like it-snip off the elastic and button
I tried Arctic Fox Poseidon (on unbleached hair) a while ago. The color was lovely but barely lasted one wash before being completely gone. :(( Did you (or someone you know) have better luck? I'm honestly super curious.
So while Arctic Fox's dyes are good (I've used them a lot in the past) the owner's a pos and abuses her animals, so I personally don't like to support her brand anymore. I can recommend punky color, manic panic (OG scene kid, I know), and adore from personal use, I've heard mixed things about Lunar Tides, and while I've heard Lime Crime's colors are good, I'm not a fan of the brand due to their past controversies even though their founder, the source of most of them, isn't part of the company anymore.
@@savdebunnies Temporary colors usually don't stay as well on undamaged/unbleached hair, but you can do a few things to help. Washing your hair once a week, using cool water (doesn't have to be freezing), sulfate free shampoo (I like Ion since they're affordable), and a colored shampoo or conditioner. For the conditioner, you can either mix a bit of the dye into a white conditioner or get one in the same color. Punky color, cleanditoner, and viral colorwash's products have all worked well for me!
I'm jumping on the bandwagon with my opinion of the blue hair. It looks so good on you. It would be a better world if it was possible to be born with it. Plus, you twirl so good! Love everything about this project.
I was also always scared to dye my hair "unnatural" colors. Last year I took the plunge and bleached my ends and honestly, it was a great decision. I LOVE it, and it makes photos of my costumes look so cool! I use semipermanent dye, so I can change the colors pretty easily, and avoid too much damage to my hair. Go for it, lady!

So I might have a tiny to much gene but I would absolutely wear the full outfit for everyday wear Blue hair looks amazing on you (it is very hard to keep vibrant tho - it dades super duper fast)
Love the bodice! The blue hair with bangs looks really great on you but you have to decide ahead of time how much time you want to devote to bleaching and colour upkeep, fashion colours fade quickly. And I would get it done at a salon for the healthiest hair and most even colour. I've literally had hair in every colour of the rainbow and it is a lot of work, time, and money... just like sewing.💙
I absolutely LOVE the blue hair on you! I was also too nervous for a long time to do "weird" colours, but I finally decided (at 42!) that it's only hair and can be re-dyed if I hate it. I now have lime green, electric blue, and lavender hair and it's SO fun. Life's too short not to try fun stuff!
Just take one of the patterns that you already have made to fit, and just make a square neckline and front closure, so you don't have to fit every single pattern you make. Trace all patterns so you have the original and a pattern that fits and then can trace that one and make anything :)
I think this is my favorite of the skirt/bodice combos you've made! It's adorable, as always, a joy to look at, and just so delightfully swooshy! Also, I feel, since they're separate, they can still be worn any time of the year when you're in a spooky mood

I feel like every time you make something I say this is my favorite thing of everything you’ve made. Aaaaaaaaannnd I have to say it again, now this is my favorite thing you’ve ever made. I love love love the longer reveals because it really gives an idea of the whole outfit and how it fits and moves. I don’t like watching a whole sewing video and waiting for the reveal only to have it be 12 seconds and only a front view. I love your reveals because it allows us to admire all your work and the wonderful fit you achieve. Oh, and the twirliness of it all too. Nice touch with the music and the disappearing among the trees too. Love the blue hair for a costume but not for every day. Eh, that’s just me, I’m not a fan of the non-traditional colored hair on anyone, but I’ve also not ever appeared in the pages of Vogue nor in any media for my fashion sense so I’m not sure my opinion is all that valuable. Colored hair harms no one, it’s fashionable right now, and I’m not the one wearing it so who am I to say what your hair should look like. Bottom line, it’s not for me but it is very cute on you. That pattern! OMG I needed that like a month ago. It's basically Ariel's wedding dress, which is what my daughter asked me to make for Halloween. I drafted it from her bodice block and circle skirt. We made it but the sleeve/shoulder was a PITA! Oh well it turned out cute. I'll tag you on intsta when I post it.
Throughout the reveal all I was thinking was it would be better with it different hat, but of course you’ve already got that covered and on its way, excellent! Love the hair. I’ve always thought you would look good in a dark or even lavender purple as well. But that shade of blue is very much you. Oh I think a rich cherry burgundy would also look very good if you’re going for not quite natural colors but not quite as far removed as blue or purple. Take care and stay safe!

This is gorgeous, and I love the blue hair! Can relate to being too scared to dye your hair though! I'm also a redhead, and I always worry the colour won't be the same when it grows back if I bleach it or dye it. Also, to eliminate seams meeting and forming a weird point, make sure they meet at a right angle, with the lower edge staying at this right angle for about a centimetre/ 3/8" if that makes sense.
