I got a call for a Ford Superduty that was stuck in one of the few mud holes we have in Central Oregon, so I took old faithful to see if I could pull it out. The truck didn’t look that deep in the mud, and all the tires were free, so I thought it was just high centered on the axles and would be easy to pop out with the Yankum Ropes. I have two really good pulls on the rope and the truck didn’t budge an inch, so I changed my game plan and winched him out from the side with the @harborfreight Apex winch so that his tires would
climb the side of rut and help lift it off of the ridge in the center. That worked and got him almost all the way out, so I repositioned and pulled him forward to get the rest of the way to solid ground.

Great demo on the recovery ropes even if not quite what was needed. You could see all the stretch when Casey tried those two pulls. The rope got tight and his truck kept going. So all that pulling force was still there even when he stopped. That's the beauty in a stretchy rope made for the purpose. No hard instant peak of force to snap the typical strap, cable or chain. But a long drawn out pulling force. Works way better!

I always feel better prepared when I'm wearing the right footwear for the job, especially when it's wet conditions. Worse is wet and freezing, that can be dangerous but not when that heater is on and waiting for you. I noticed right away that ice was too thick for the rope, add depth and mud and that guy was really was stuck! I did enjoy watching that rope get exercised that way, gives people a really good idea of it's capabilities.
