Make sure you mist on dry days if you aren’t regularly. Dry shed shouldn’t be stuck on the crestie. You also could make a moist box out of a plastic container. Good luck 🍀
Well done! Definitely don't be afraid of the foam and silicone backgrounds. I did it on my first vivarium build ever (I have 0 experience) and it turned out not terrible, I'm sure you could make something great!
"maybe one day I'll be brave enough to try that whole foam silicone thing" I felt that, been procrastinating making my bearded dragon a new enclosure for a while now because I want to attempt what you described, but know it's going to be a whole ordeal 😖
I know!! But i’m sure it seems more scary than we imagine and the reward seems worth the work😅 Regardless you don’t need it to make cool vivariums im sure your guy is happy :)
I too have been intimidated by the expanding foam background technique, so I am currently setting up a new bioactive and for the background I’m using a Zoo Med cork tile. It looks like bark, is a flat panel that comes in different sizes depending on the size of your enclosure. I siliconed it to the back of the tank. It looks great and was much easier to do than the expanding foam.
Great job looks great! Also, dont worry, im doing my first background on a brand new exoterra 90x45x90 soon for my casque headed iguana 😬 plenty of great videos out there for doing them 🙌🏻
