I don't know about that "upgraded" ducting for the extruder. In both tests it seems to have done worse. Possibly the nozzle might've been clogged slightly but seeing that the bottom layers look perfectly fine, I doubt that. My guess is that the fans are creating a faster flow with the smaller ducts having a more efficient flow overall, I'd recommend raising the fan speed on the extruder to compensate for the larger openings. Sometimes less is more! Might cause the P1S to be louder than it already is if you did do this though haha.
Why do people mount the Panda Touch on the left? I have an XTouch, but designed a mount on the right side of the P1S covering that "wire hole" and allowing the wiring to be invisible.
The problem with that "upgrade" to the fan duct is the same problem they've had going back to the first fan duct "upgrade" for the replicator - you need to upgrade the fan too. You're splitting airflow designed for one/two outlets into four, they always end up giving you a worse print unless it's one of the very few printers that just totally messed up the design of the original ducting (ender 3, creator 2, etc - both of which fixed it with later OEM parts) Bambu's X1 series duct (same as the p1s) is probably the best on the market, especially coupled with the aux fan, it's why it can print so fast, it's incredibly efficient, there are air flow tests on youtube that show it's design is that way for a reason
You have to add the resin on the new duct. BTT does not specify that but if you pulled it off your OEM duct, you probably should put it back on and you need to knock the powder from the duct, there is a ton of it in there. I did so with a permatex high tempature resin and the duct has given me better quality and cooling. It’s a good upgrade but given how “easy” it is to install, not so easy, I wouldn’t do it again with another duct. Too much work and I also broke a tiny clasp off installing but glued it back with the resin.
Videos are getting better all the time! Keep it up and the subs will come quickly. I'm using a Panda Touch, Lux and PWR... love em all! I didn't mount the Touch to a printer, though - it's mounted to my workbench as it controls multiple devices and I didn't see the point in tethering it physically to one printer. I just use a USB plug nearby. Grab yourself the Panda Lux light - still leaves you a free USB and massively improves the lighting situation! The PWR would take that to another level as that has a USB port that'll switch on and off when the printer is in use so if you did want to use a USB light, it's ideal. Keep this content going!!
@jet_lea It's the smart power brick that via the Touch gives you live power stats for your printer, lets it auto switch-off when it's been idle after finishing a print and has a switchable USB for lights etc (as we as a permanent USB for the PWR if you don't want to use the on printer USB).
they gave you a hawk tuah and you ate it. :D nice video! the air float thingy is kinda useless i think. but the build plate and the screen look fine. I just use an iPad with the Bambu Handy App next to my P1S, X1C and A1 Mini. Works kinda fine aswell. Did you ever think of printing the Bento Box? I just heard of it. Dunno if its only for X1C. Thats my next project for cleaner air.
Great video. I installed the panda touch and it works great. I also installed the usb hub and some extra leds. That was a problem. I guess the ps1 doesn't supply enough amperage to feed both the panda touch and the lights. This makes the hub less useful.
Thanks for this video! I ordered the (full front) jet pack for both my P1S when they were listed on the live, I am still waiting for them to come in but I’m excited for them. I also got both their new cryo-grip plates. I received the frostbite and mannn that thing is AMAZING. If this plate you shared is half as good as the cryogrip I can assure you it’s fantastic and definitely worth it. Hmm. Oh and I also got their claw for both P1S and the a1. The only thing I really want that haven’t gotten is the touch, people keep telling me I’m risking ending up with $2000 in paper weights and it scares me from buying it again. 😢 As usual love your content, thank you
Good content, you're doing a solid job! Question - you mentioned it worked with the A1 mini, but didn't go any further with that. How does it connect to the A1 mini, over wi-fi ? Can it control any other klipper networked printers?
As far as i have discovered, it works over wifi the exact same way it connects to the p1s and you have the exact same functionality for the a1 mini and p1s. As far as other klipper printers, I am unsure.
Love the vid but ngl the fan duct "upgrade" didnt seem to improve the print quality but besides that, like i said love the vid bro, keep up the good work!
You didn't give a very good reprisentation of the overhang prints you could have showed a closer look at each of them or gave you opinion but from what I could see the bigtreetech fan shroud didn't work as well
The main issue with Panda Touch is that it is always behind in updates. They need to do something about this before it is a no brainer. I was just about to buy one the other day when I saw that none of my printers will be able to use it since they are all updated to latest version of firmware.
Hello i have a Question can you help me to get a bambu lab a1 mini printer because 15and dont have enough money and my family is like poor. Any help is Grateful
(In Crocodile Dundee voice) "That's not an overhang-test! This is an overhang-test!" ... Really, you should have overhangs in all 4 directions for such a test.
