The crit upgrade is worth it most when you upgrade your towers, especialyl combined with the other crit upgrades as it becomes possible to push to start hitting for 3x damage. The loss of base damage is one time, so the higher the level the tower the more minor that loss is.

with quality over quantity you want your towers to be as high level as possible. if you get a couple to level 30+ or so, their crits will be constant, and if you get that perk multiple times you start hitting for 4x damage

Just leaving some casual love for the editors. I appreciate that you take the hit of undiluted DF on a caffeine high and distill it down to the levels that are safe for normal humans.

Just finished beating 2 path, and working on 3 path. You should put poison/flame towers on long lanes - they shoot a line, and you had them on the sides so they weren't hitting as many mobs as they can. All about the angles my fellow Van friend!

One thing I noticed within the video was the mana per shot going higher whenever you upgraded, I don't play the game personally but after watching your videos, you should almost half an half it between upgrades and towers, or make 3-4 towers overpowered in a center where the enemies will all travel, and then get a huge mana supply as well as continuing to get more towers and upgrading them

"Enemies are starting to make it through" *still somehow misses running out of mana 5 episodes later* "Let me add more frost towers."

My man really doesn't pay attention to the mana consumption at all he was running out of mana and not noticing till its too late

You need more mana. Those obelisks are good with armor, not with shield. Always upgrade armor damage. The poison towers are good against shields. Always upgrade shield damage on poison towers Tesla towers are decent against everything. Though they already deal decent damage against everything, you should upgrade armor and shield damage cause the health damage is already high as is. Also, it is better if you put them in choke points where they can strip armor or shield or BOTH. Shredder towers are good against everything, they are absolutely broken since it's the most efficient tower to upgrade. better to upgrade shredder's damage against shield and armor because they already deal massive damage against health. (BUT UPGRADE HEALTH DAMAGE SOMETIMES.) The radar is the boss killing machine, don't upgrade it. It has a very big range so it'll upgrade itself overtime. Always prioritize most Shield, most armor and most health. You'll be surprised to see that the boss doesn't have a shield anymore by the time it gets near your death area. Encampments plant mines faster when you put them where they cover more road. The mortars absolutely destroy mobs, always take the extra area of effect upgrade and upgrade their armor and health damage. I don't know about frost towers but they have the same mechanics as Encampments. faster atk speed as they cover more road. DOTS are important. Poison stops shield regen, Burn stops Armor regen and Bleed stops Health Regen. This Means that poison towers should be the furthest one from your MAIN TOWER and flame towers should be the second furthest from your MAIN TOWER and Shredders should be the nearest from your tower. Don't take shredder towers when the map splits early. Take tesla towers instead. When the map doesn't split and it goes straight, take shredder towers. put shredder towers at the back of the choke points because by the time the enemies get to the shredder tower, they won't have shield or armor anymore. DON'T PUT MANY OBELISKS. One is enough. It will destroy armored and healthy targets all day long, just remember to keep your mana at an all time high with mana banks and siphons. This took so long, I just want him to read it so that he will actually win one run.

DF, EVERY house gives you gold. please, surround each of them with as many cheap ballista towers as you can for long-term gold income! Also, as everyone else has said, you really need to think about your mana income over throwing down more towers.

Things have regen even when you dealing damage to them. Poison stops shields from regenerating, fire stops armor from regenerating and bleed stops health from regenerating

This man has singlehandedly inspired me to play SO many games... now if only I followed through with that inspiration

I love the editors, they add just enough chaos to the already chaotic DF to multiply the chaos.

I once got a map that was a grand total of 7 tiles, it looped into itself. Something interesting to note is that when you can’t expand there isn’t a break between waves.

I usually place 3 tesla tower next to each other in a good spot with high base dmg bonus and level them up to lvl 50. I have one focused on armor, one on shield and one on health. I also place down one poison sprayer againts shield and one fire tower againts armor. I also level them up until level 50. I place all my turret in the same spot. I use only mana banks. I use lot of low level ballistas to slow the enemy. And place tower next to each house

Putting balistas around every house made me so happy.. There were some new houses that spawned, I believe you could have won if you put some balistas around them too.. you were just a few coins/towers short..

It's fun to watch this game while actually playing it on my other monitor. DF.. You made me buy it.

Now you should try the targetting system, because if u have all in progress, they hit only the first enemy, so per example the ballistas miss the shot if the enemy die. Also, flamethrowers mortars and obelisk for armor, poison sprayers, teslas and particle canons for shield, ballistas and shredders for health. Of course you can lv up a flamethrower to do shield dmg but is not that effective. Great video!

You should always focus the upgrades on what the tower is good at as that is more cost efficient. One tesla at level 50 with only shield upgrades can solo all enemies that have shield. But some enemies spawn more enemies with shield so you need two points where shield gets taken away

You were right to buy all those balistas at the start! Honestly surrounding any house with towers is a good investment. I have faith you can beat this game! Crits and slow are king.

From what I see, fire-turrets are the best, but they ignore inbound enemies to follow a target; so, inbound straight-a-away mounted flame throwers might pivot and miss the majority encroaching: mount fire-turrets to back inbound-lanes directly, but target different stats amongst several them, so they don't all turn simultaneously.

Hey DF, I noticed after the initial castle spawn you stopped surrounding houses with ballistics. They actually do pay for themselves and more before too long, and do a decent job softening up the enemy (especially with extra levels). There are some elemental upgrades for them that turn them into a real workhorse tower (poison works well on shields, fire on armor, bleed on health). Just something to consider next time, higher gold generation and it can help soften the lanes before they get too close to your castle.

An encampment is better placed not necessarily where it sees farthest away, but where it covers most track. It's fire rate directly correlates to the amount of road it covers. Same with frost keep!

doing these will help you get further 1. place towers all along the paths when you extend them so they can start doing damage as soon as possible. 2. place towers on all the +3 and +2 elevations first. its better to have stronger towers on +3 and ballistas on +2 and +1 3. spread out towers that uses mana 4. set the tower's priority to thing they are are good at. most towers are only good at 1 thing. only upgrade their strengths. 5. place a lot more ballistas, they are worth it and will do good damage as they level up.( 6. monster's shield, armor, and health will regenerate unless they have debuffs. poison for shields, burn for armor, bleed for health 7. surround all houses with ballistas, even if the position is useless. it will generate more gold than the cost the longer they're there.

Don't give in to the pressure. Keep doing stuff the way you enjoy

You can upgrade your towers with the numbers 1, 2, or 3 on your keyboard. It makes it a lot easier than clicking, if that's your preference. 1 upgrades health, 2 upgrades armor, 3 upgrades shield.

you should put MORE towers, mayhaps a fire, a tesla and a frost tower by the castle along with all those ballistas and mine layers. or do a whole row of mine layers near the final stretch of the castle so that it helps whittle away the enemies. instead of just one.

I think that most viewers will agree that watching him play is like watching an anime, despite his many MANY *MANY* flaws the hero gets to be overpowered.

DF: says he understands the importance of upgrade over spamming Also DF: spams even harder with no mana " I want an obelisk to strip armor" That's their intended function!!

quality over quantity upgrade means every upgrade increases crit rate, and then they can have more than x2, they can get x3 then x4 x8 etc. Combine with a relaly high rank shock tower and you can clear trash absurdly easily. - Prioritize towers by houses for income, and maybe look into getting some universities going for latergame

Finally, also some universities might help, they upgrade crit on all towers.

Level 40 is definitely the hardest step up level. It's difficult to target the spawners because they're not the slowest, don't have most health, armour, or shield - so I'm not sure how to target them directly. The little guys are so plentiful they can stall out obelisk's and are almost too fast for most towers

you should focus on building mana banks after setting up a good choke point defense, the mana banks + Sorcery is by far the best mana sustainability you can get. with sorcery 3 or 4 + like 15 mana banks is going to set you up for the late game, i once have a match where i have 300+ Mana production.

Shredders should target shield or armor, as they'll probably be the first towers to hit most enemies
