Sneaky extra thing not mentioned: add a simulated puddle of water with the reflection of the other side of the portal to the street, to further the effect
I took a photography class in High School that was pretty in depth, and for someone inexperienced like me this is super difficult. Even with all the automatic tools in photoshop, artistic shots like this take a lot of knowledge and skill in both your equipment and the software you use. So basically, I really admire the hard work you put in to get to this level, it’s very impressive.
Can I ask why he couldn't just have taken a pic of the lady in the street and gotten an image of the beach off of Google or sth? Just curios why he needed to go to the beach as well since the sun doesn't even illuminate onto her
@@novaxx7130 but you could also recreate it in 10 mins lol. He most likely did it that way so he would own the photo and be able to sell it for the monies. Plus the tik tok.
@@novaxx7130 idk bro, even if I had passion for photography, I wouldn't waste has and time doing something unnecessary when I could wing it and it'll look just as good
My guess, use slow shutter speed to capture the moving light. Make sure to use a tripod and your subject stands really still because otherwise your photos will be blurry in the wrong places. You only want the light to be blurry. Isolate the layers in photoshop and overlay them together. If you don’t know of to use Photoshop, try some online tutorials.
It's decent, just remember that stuff like this, there are another million that can do it, very common, but incredible and can't put it into words is just a bit far. And at the end of the day it's extremely photo shopped
It doesnt require a real expensive camera, your smartphone could maybe get fine results as well. Just a tripod, lights and knowledge of long exposure photography.
This cam be done with any decent DSLR camera. My 800$ cannon could do this. Its nothing more than some really creative photo trickery and alot of time in photoshop
you sound like you never touched a camera, 500$ dlsr can do that. depends on the skill. you can give my friend the 50k camera and he can still make it shitty than a 500$ cam
There's no shortage of technical creatives that do good work. There is however a severe lack of good writers. Hopefully the writers strike goes on forever so we can get some actual talent involved.
A plastic bag a 2k camera and lens, a set of light that cost almost 200 dollars as I can see… of course the plastic bag is free, but just a bit “click baiting”
@@Dynamo33 he simply turned shutter speed down to capture the bag as he waved it about. Note how he said "texture" when explaining his technique using the bag. It's a base layer to add other effects to bring the portal to life. Instead of free handing an entire portal, he had the smeared imagery of the bag being caught from slow shutter speed act as the base to the over all effect. It's pretty common and probably saved him a whole day of edits to make it, while probably ending up looking better than any freehand anyway.
He used a technique called light painting with long exposure. Brighter lights show in lines as they are burned onto the film/lightsesative diode. Tge plastic bag served as a way to bounce the bright light around to a larger surface area to make the portal thicker wouldnt take 10 hours to put this together hehe
I think he must have forgotten to leave a low shutter speed for the beach picture because only one side was lit. Really messed it up, but maybe he just couldn't get a clear image.
Yeah for real.... The final product looks great, but what even is an "artistic look"? 🤣 Just someone creating the same photo using the same methods you have seen time and time again as a trend on Instagram and claiming it has an "artistic look", rather than the hole in the road being a part of the story he is trying to tell, it's just there because it looks cool.
@@TheBiggestMoronYouKnow Well you explain to me what an "artistic look" is. Because as an artist I can tell you that there is no such thing as an "artistic look" something doesn't look artistic. Art doesn't look artistic, it IS artistic and how it looks is limitless. As what art should have behind it is intention and purpose. I think the term the man was looking for was story, the hole in the ground added to the story being told in the image, like she's escaping a collapsing world or some form of harm, into a nicer safer place. Saying you added something to give it a more "artistic look" is the exact opposite of creating art. Do you understand, or is that too intellectually difficult for you?
Mechanical camera can do double exposure to superimpose images. I’m sure maybe they can use CGI for that now. You can get pretty creative with photo films.
I feel like this is the type of creativity my old photography teacher *expected* me to have. Instead I just took crappy black and white pictures of random objects 😅
