@@belleanna09 Nikon fan boys rage and will thumbs down the video. They can’t accept Facts. Nikon is light years behind in autofocus. Panasonic just surpassed them making the Big Three. Sony, Canon, and now the newly crowned Panasonic.
You are right on the fujifilm XS-10 I had one for a year and it was a fantastic camera with great color science. Ended up selling it since I used my Canon RP at the time more for video and the auto focus was better. After much thought I ended up selling my Canon and getting the Sony ZV-E10 with the kit lens.
Greta video! Thinking iPhone 15 pro for now. Until the cameras get smaller footprints many hobbyists don’t want to walk around with clunky gear. Beautifully done ✅ 😊
Would love to see some photography reviews this year! Fuji X100V, x100x, x100f, fuji xt-1, Ricoh GRiii, etc.. Also, a super underrated camera is the Panasonic Lumix S5iix, would love to see a review on that!
Wow. Thanks for squeezing so much content, insights, value, into this video. 🙏 I’m joining as subscriber. And its (somewhat unexpected) conclusion comes just in time to reinforce a hunch I had about a forthcoming purchase…
That was fun watching, Joe. It would seem that both you & me are spoiled by Sony - although those Fuji offerings were very tempting! Looking forward to seeing where you go in this new year - thanks for your hard work, it shows!
Hey there! I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved your story! It was exciting to hear about all the recent Sony cameras. I purchased a Sony A6700 for myself. That is an excellent choice! You are really going to get your money's worth with that one. Thank you for the video 👍
Great video, I can't believe you used that many cameras in a year. What would you recommend in the $2ooo to $3500 range that shoots 60 FPS and faster uncropped with a fantastic image and great stabilization? Thanks
Hello hello, happy new year and thank you for all your content ! I am a big fan of the ZV1 and you helped me to find the perfect settings so thank you for that. I often watch your video and I cannot find a video you made about picture profiles detailed and compare on the ZV1 was it deleted by youtube ?
All those Sonys and not a single Panasonic? Wow, missing out, especially on the S5II/x which is arguably the best camera(s) released this year. The S5II has 6K open gate like the Fuji, but it's a full frame camera. I rent and use quite a few cameras too, the S5II is best of the year.
Can’t believe this video doesn’t have more views, it’s one of the best camera review videos I’ve ever seen on RU-vid. You definitely don’t get the credit you deserve, thanks so much for doing this video, it must have taken ages to film. I’m just about to buy a new camera and this video has been invaluable. All your videos are amazing and so informative. Thanks again.
It almost felt like you may have picked the x h2 if you didn't have to replace your lenses. Would you have picked the x h2 over a6700 if lenses were not a factor or would the 120p keep from buying fugi? I have one more question; why not the x h2s? That fits everything you wanted. Thanks for your time
This is a fantastic video! So much info and narration. As I still haven’t learnt the zv-e10 properly yet, I need tons of info, like settings you use today. Would you use mainly hlg3, s-log2 or cine2? Or other? Or it depends on the situation. Congrats for a well done job!
On that camera i would just put it in cine 2 and keep it at cine 2. My top budget camera. you will need at lut or a bit of grading to get where you want. but its the sweet spot of this camera.
@@OldGuyNewTech I bought the Paul Leeming LUT, but still haven’t figured out how to best expose for it. Most channels talk about hlg3, cine2 or slog2. There are so many settings that learning by doing is a long process. We need data to build on!
Cine 2 is not as hard to grade as s-log and you don’t have to overexpose it. I’d say if you can hit around 0 to +1 exposed on your subject and not clip your highlights your good. I’ll see if I can make a video and give a free LUT in spring 2024 on the zv-10 cine 2 with settings. I shoot the older 8 bit Sony cameras only in cine 2. For me that’s the a7 iii and the zv-e10. I shoot fotos in that picture profile to. I like the colours in this gamma the best and it matches the best with other camera brands.
@@OldGuyNewTech I think I´m going to set the camera to cine2 and work with it for a while, see what kind of results I get. When trying to expose to the right I´ve overexpose, which meant that autofocus didn´t work that well, which meant half my videos where out of focus. Do you use luts with cine2 with the zv-e10?
@@ManuelParodiRamos You don't have to overexpose in cine 2. id say that neutral is fine and +-0.5 will work to. But you need to protect the highlights as they blow out faster when exposure gets hot. but you dont have to overexpose shadows like you do in S-log
Wow! Man, thanks for this video. I've been following your work over the last 2 years (along with a channel of one handsome looking guy from Canada who also prefers Sony cameras 😉), and thanks to you two, I've finally recently pulled a trigger on Sony A7C. Got it for €1380 on Black Friday, body only but brand new (lots of Bees in there lol). Bought a couple of Tamron F2.8 zooms to go along with it and couldn't be more happier with my purchase. I was torn between A7C, ZV-E10 and new A6700 but since I shoot quite often in low-light, I decided to go with FF route. EVF is perfectly fine for me (same mag as in S-20) and even those old Sony menus aren't such a problem - I got used to them after a while and good thing is that Sony allows you to customize almost every single button with a function you want. Anyway, keep up the good work and God bless! 🙌
Excellent comparison between cameras. As far as "filmic" imagery goes, I would have to give it to Blackmagic cameras. The look coming out of Blackmagic cameras with its 12-bit BRAW looks more like film than anything else I've seen. I find Blackmagic's warmer imagery is much closer to a film look. But, that's my taste. (EDIT: The a6700 is definitely on my wish list as an a/b cam to my FX30. For the price and features, it's hard to beat.) Once again, you've knocked it out of the park. Your videos are so well done, and so well researched, that your videos are a great source for helping people make decisions on what camera to get for their use purposes. Happy New Year. Best wishes for you and your family.

I have been considering a Canon R5c. Have you had the opportunity to test drive this particular model? It certainly looks impressive in the specs, but I haven’t ran across anyone with real world experience with this particular model. With the price of the body being what it is, I fear digging too deep into lense choices for fear of a need for a home equity loan just to end up with a good combination.
I agree the 6700 is awesome but I have the A7iv and dang that camera does everything really well. I just wish I had better stabilization. I also have the FX30 for long shooting days and that camera never quits. It’s like a tank. I also keep the DJI action 4 in my bag. It has log that’s easy to grade to match and the stability is insane. I use it a lot for quick stuff.
Hi there! Great content, subscribed! I'm in Canada and trying to decide between ZV-e10 ($900) and A6700($1900) for RU-vid language teaching video content, both with Sigma 16mm.. I have good lights and sound. Any suggestion on which camera I should go for? Many thanks.
Is Fijifilm XT30 II better than canon EOS R50? My main focus is on videography for cooking, and also photography of nature and some lil cinematic vibes videos ? Kindly help me with the best buy as i am a beginner. I want to invest 1 time for all in one camera both good for video and photos? Budget is not more than 1000-1500$ . I am confused between Sony, Canon and Fujifilm.
I’m it sure. Thats actually a great question. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for what you are using it for. Have you taken it yet?
@@thefilmalliance i took it, but somehow I am not satisfied with the result. I don't like Sony ZV-E10 . I thought of now buying GoPro 12 hero for cooking videos and some raw outdoor shoot. But for birds and nature photography, cinematic video shoot I am thinking for Sony 6400 . What do you say?
@@thefilmalliance and by the way I forgot to tell you , I am your new subscriber. The way your present the videos and the information you gave was really helpful . I wish you could make 1 video backed by same level of research that you showed in APS-C vs Full frame camera regarding why most high end or expensive camera comes with low megapixel? Is high megapixel really important for high quality pics and videos or is it just a myth that more megapixel means the better. As I could see apple phones have less mexapixels but they capture better pics and videos than Samsung camera's. Even I saw some canon and sony cameras are soo expensive but with low megapixels .
Hello, I loved your video. I just had the opportunity to get my first camera but I don't know which to choose, the Sony a6700 or the Fuji XS20. I'm looking for suitable equipment to film all kinds of things, from weddings to short films and that I can have for years, my priority is video. Greetings from Mexico.
Thank you, have you used either yet? I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for what you are using it for. Have you taken it yet?
@@thefilmalliance I have finished the quiz and the result was the Sony a6700, I thank you for answering my question. I will be excited to have my first camera. :)
I want to pick up a new camera (I am using a nikon d3500 Right now ) mainly for photography but I also have a TikTok account with 80k and I think if I get a camera it should be a good video camera too so I can use it for that as well I narrowed my options down to the a6700 and a7c ii but I can't decide between them why did you pick the a6700 over the a7c ii anything besides 4k 120?
I was told that A7Cii is a great camera but it does not have mechanical shutter. This could give you a few issues in some situation like banding or light flickering.
I didn't know Sony made Cannon, Fuji, IPhone, and Nikon. Good to know. My E-mount lenses should therefore fit the Z8 I have been interested in if I do get it instead of the A7R5, if such is the case.
You didn't try any Panasonic cameras. G-series and S-series both are beast mode cameras and you can use Leica lenses. Many ppl are leaving Sony for Panasonic. I'm testing the G9 next week. I'm a photographer first, but dabbing my toes in video this year. Looking forward to it.
