I got a pair of Rod Brind'amour's gloves back when he played for the Blues. Dude had some tiny hands, apparently. I know a lot of players like very snug gloves, but there was no way I could use them, and I only have average size hands. So, that's my pro stock story.
Being a smaller guy at 5'9" and preferring smaller/tighter fitting equipment as well as a super short stick it's hard to find pro stock gear that fits or is in my specs. With that being said, I do have a bigger head and need a new helmet so I would be buying a new helmet if I win the gift card!
Love the content sir…I could really use an upgrade on my Bauer Vapor X twig after a year of mens league and PSH has so much more variety than my local shops!
I've been looking to get pro stock hockey gloves. My biggest reason is for the extra protection. Do all of the pro stock hockey gloves have better protection than retail, or is it just certain models like the ones you reviewed that have the extra protection? I don't necessarily need an extra pad on the back. Just more protective foam than retail would justify purchasing pro stock. Thanks.
Ah, so, two things regarding this. The first is that the white gloves look a lot cleaner on camera, however, the white is starting to stain to the point that I cannot wash it out. The second is that I live in a region where I would have to send off the gloves or re-palm them myself. I think I will end up just re-palming the new ones in the video from here on out and just using my old ones as they are sent off getting re-palmed. Great question though!
From what I have seen, the sizing is exactly the same for the gloves I used. Where - 14” pro stock gloves are the same as 14” regular gloves of any brand. However, Bauer and CCM may have different tapers and fits for their gloves compared to the Warrior Covert QRL gloves I reviewed.
These should work anywhere since they are gift certificates and the company ships internationally. However, if there are any issues, we can figure something else out for you!

Prostockhockey is great. But, it's not gear *worn* by the players (as you suggest at 1:06) ... it is gear ordered *for* the players that didn't get used. So, don't think you're getting "game worn/used gear". You aren't. Also, in your glove-wear analysis, if your left hand is at the top of your stick, then you should start taping your butt end with WHITE tape ... not black tape. Black tape, for some reason, is FAR more abrasive than white tape on glove palms, and it likely contributed greatly to the palm degradation you experienced. That having been said, yes, the pros favor "feel" over durability so pro palms will not last as long in general. However, a good pro shop in your area can easily repalm your gloves for a fraction of the cost of new gloves.
Correct, what I was trying to convey in the video was that they sell “gear that the NHL players use” - as it is what they use, but went unworn and sold to prostockhockey when the player no longer needs the excess of gear.
I see your edit now - what I was saying at 1:06 is that they are the same gloves worn by Matthias Janmark, not game used gloves. They do have his specs and his name stitched into the gloves, but were never worn. As for the butt end, I actually do not use cloth hockey tape at the top. I use the grip tape for my handle and buttendz (depending on the stick I am using). Both of these help mitigate the wear and tear on the palms, but still went through mine pretty quickly.
@@pajerhockey yeah, I figured that's what you meant, but felt compelled to mention it for anyone who wasn't familiar with what Prostockhockey was. I've bought a ton of pro gear off them. You can't beat the quality and price of their sticks for sure! Great video and review, btw! And definitely change to white tape! 😊
Thank you very much! I will actually add this to my description since you mentioned it. I definitely should have thought about explaining that in the video or in the description so there is not confusion.
