I would not trust the person who wrote my Facebook statuses in 2008 to make critical life decisions for myself or others - we’ve all been there 😅 We’re glad you came to the light side
Love this! I've deleted most of my content from *THAT* girl. I remember them to be similar to this - It's as if we KNEW that what we were saying was cringe... and not authentic to who we are, but proud that we were "stepping our of our comfort zone and making it up as we go". Haha. This is great. And I think helpful so that we can be mindful of the content that we are watching!
Some more benefits of 9-5: Medical benefits, 401k, paid time off, not hustling, not having to take care of the business side of things, possible stock options, possible promotions and raises
I’m cringing because I was that person. My life was all about coaching - everything and nothing all at the same time. I posted and did these same things. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. And your posts. It makes me feel better.
Care to share some more of your experiences in that world? From an outsider, it seems like a whole lot of spinning your wheels and trying to get people to buy into an idea that you don't entirely believe in yourself.
@@anneliesehanson5256 I’m happy to share. That really sums it up. “Time freedom” means always prospecting, posting, messaging, being on zooms, attending events and spending a lot of time and money to “build your business,” that’s not even your business. I believed in it at first, but then I could see nobody was really making any money and it didn’t feel right anymore.
😂😂 This is how we talk when we're immature. We've all been there. I read a book, or heard a "motivational speaker" and had it all figured out. Had to learn the hard way to shut up and stop "coaching the people around me". 🤣 Anyway, I just subscribed. Keep up the good work.
Really loving this story arc. I so rarely see the honesty and self reflection from current and former girl bosses ans MLMers. This is insightful and refreshing.
The fact that Facebook-Danielle has a motto of "make it up as you go" is just about the most perfect thing! It sums up the whole situation The rest reminds me of what I was met with when I disclosed my abuse: I was told to stop with the victim mentality and to create my reality. Which, while I think was meant to be empowering, was mostly just confusing. I had been quite literally victimised and there does not seem to be a guide on how to recover from that when we deny someone that their reality includes victimisation.
8:30: one of the biggest red flags of those people - the 'one-stop-shop' attitude, where they think they have the answer to any and every of your life's problems 🤣 At least you snapped out of it quickly enough!
My husband took a legitimate sales course. During the course, my husband couldn't afford it, the instructor gave him all the remaining coursework and CDs (Yes, it was a lifetime ago) and wished him good luck. It was a weekly payment scheme so he paid only for the weeks he attended.
Having self-awareness is the first step, so kudos to you for even being able to recognize it! I think that will certainly help you maintain your authenticity as you go.
Brave isn't the right word...but it's brave for DR to make this video. And because of this bravery (?) and thoughtful use of her old attempts at "marketing" to start her nascent online personal coaching business...DR made an informative and illustrative-by-example video. I don't have too much to comment: There is a certain element of this coaching neophyte Danielle, in her attempts to start her online coaching [cough][cough] business, doing things (eg a FB Live Sesh with 0-1 viewers) that are figuratively like screaming-into-the-void actions and attempts...blindly doing something, for sake of doing something, to drum up business. For a business that doesn't really provide any useful service. It's like much ado about nothing. Very illustrative. Thank you for sharing and making this and all your content.
I was literally thinking, “its a 20 something who looks like they just rolled out of bed while trying to appear as though they have their shit in a pile - and I need to learn from them.” 😂😂 then you basically said it. You now speaking in a robe and hair band is a million times more sincere. You see this a lot though - people looking like a hot mess (might not even be how they are dress - can just tell how they are talking etc that they are frazzled) trying to tell you how to live, be fit, etc.
Not gonna lie, Danielle, but when you said “why did no one cancel me?” I immediately said outloud, “because no one was watching the live streams.” 😭😹 Love looking back at your growth though, your story isn’t far off from my own. I was formerly a registered yoga teacher (did not get sucked into the coaching realm) but i also have a lot of old out of touch posts and i do not identify with my former self.
I just started a RU-vid channel. One of the things I did in my mental overcoming process was to go back to 1st videos of the successful RU-vid creators I was watching. This helped give me the confidence to move forward. You sounded very good then and you were doing it!!! 👍 good job. We all started were we did to get to we’re we are going. And now you are here and in no time you will be over a million and helping people. Great job.
Yeah I’m kinda burnt on the whole idea of coaching. I joined a couple of so-called mastermind groups and with both of them I had a bunch of people act fake-friendly toward me and try to sell me their coaching programs or MLM’s.
I think difficult reality is that a lot of what Evil Danielle said is actually true. You DO have some power over what you do with the circumstances you're given. You CAN acknowledge the challenges in your life without identifying as a victim. It's also true that freeing yourself of victim mindset is probably different for an attractive white able-bodied blonde woman in Canada than it would be for someone who struggles just to get thru the day. I guess the issue is that there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution to shifting your mindset or shifting your life. It will look different for everyone. Entrepreneurship isn't always the answer
thank you for this video and the honesty! i have people in my live that i wish they would come to this realisation..real question: how did you get to this point where you are now, what opend your eyes ? and did you really believed the things you said at the time, or did you just did it for the money ?
I was never a "business coach" so my motivation was never really to make a ton of money, I genuinely thought what I was doing was helpful. I can't recall there being a singular thing that happened to "wake me up" but rather a lot of small red flags I started noticing with people around me in the industry until I finally did enough introspection to realize "Hmmmm maybe this is doing more harm than help" I still know people deep in the industry and I wish I could shake them to wake up, but unfortunately I think it all needs to happen on our own time.
Additional question: when coaching type influencers start videos saying, "so many people have been DMing me asking _______"... Do yall actually get DMs? Like, is that actually happening?
Coach Danielle wasn’t saying anything new. She also seems to have taken on the persona of the “in your face” coach (there’s probably better phrasing for that). Also if it’s any consolation, no one attended my lives either. 🙃
31:21 It's not terrible advice. Two caveats 1.Know what you can control vs. what you can't control 2. A 5 week course with a "life couch" won't help you. If a person has access to mental health services, a professional can help the person but it will take much longer than a couple of weeks.
Yes! I did have a handful of clients (all of which I am still friends with surprisingly) 😂 My rates were never anything *too* insane. The most anyone ever paid me I think was $1000 for 2 months? Most clients paid me $100 lol.
@@itsdanielleryan ohh that's nice that you are freinds with them xD also tysm for responding 🥹🫶🏼 I'm a therapist and I know a life coach she's a 'mind set and alignment coach' and one thing that pisses me off is how she says therapy goes on for years and that we focus only on the past. Both of which are inaccurate. She says she never wants to be a therapist because she's not interested in learning about depression she's not depressed. Since she is not distressed it's not something she can empathise with. I'm baffled
@@kshithiyathish I am currently working on a video about the differences between coaching and therapy. I've interviewed a number of each in the process... I think you're going to like that one.
Did you ever have clients question you about not living up to the "promises" or just complain in general about being full of shit lol im curious if business coaches are just as bad because they do have to actually help improve a business and its strategy's not just tell the business to become a business coach itself if that makes sense lol @@itsdanielleryan
Nope. I stopped coaching and focused on my building my yoga business. Built that for 4 years until I closed it to move across the country and do freelance content creation.
@@itsdanielleryan well, my question was 'if almost everything in the digital realm is scam, then essentially creating a prosperous future with a digital business is a no go right? therefore we should focus again on the 9-5 job spectrum or not?'. From your answer, i understand that this was not your choice and the reply would be, no, you dont have to get back to 9-5 if you dont want to, generally speaking. Am I correct? By the way, can i contact you on a different platform, perhaps via email or sth else? Thanks a lot Danielle.
@@verbaexore I think it's pretty dramatic to say that "almost everything in the digital realm is a scam" ... that is not the case at all. There are certainly bad players in the online space taking advantage of people, but I would hazard to guess the good people far out number the bad. What would be more correct would be to say that people need to find the right fit for themselves (whether than be online or in 9-5 setting) neither is inherently good or bad provided you aren't scamming anyone lol...
You sound like my wife of 2010. $$ made, minimal. Dream life attained? No. Still trying to manifest wealth by not working for it but wanting it to fall into her lap.
I am new here and binge watching your videos. They all hit a very raw nerve. But also speak to what I went through with her even though i didnt believe in the industry. I used to do her socials, her website, push her to create content, while she sat in her hammock "thinking" about success. I never fully understood how deep her manifesting beliefs were, she would always say i just play around with it, until she left me and i found an old computer hard drive full of her material. From Tony Robbins, Esther Hicks, Gabby Bernstein to pages and pages of manifesting wealth crap. @@itsdanielleryan
