The Sinister Sovereign play is one I have used before and it's so nice to get those cards into hand after making a play. Also, Sinister is a beast of a card on the lowkey. Banishing a special summoned monster and a spell/trap in the same turn while also dealing damage is kinda crazy. Thanks for the profile, Cali. I always enjoy your content. You seem like a solid guy
I paused it once you said you were doing side patterns to comment this. YES more side patterns in Decklists please! Yugioh is a Best 2 of 3 game, You will play with your sidedeck cards in more rounds than with just ur main deck. Side patterns are some of the most under developed aspects of Deck profiles. Thanks for the content brother!
I really like this style of profile, showing what to side out against what is helpful! Your SwordSoul video a while back convinced me to buy it, and had it sitting for a bit (branded gang) but I think it is time to whip it out and have some fun!
Thank you for telling us your side patterns against different matchups. Almost if not nobody talks about side patterns and what to take out in profiles. Please keep doing it! 🙏🏻
I too like Longyuan + Chixiao + Taia as follow up going first, especially if you can Blackout on their turn. Then going into the double Baxia play into a Mo-Ye plays using only Taia banishing the Blackout on my turn 2. Unless the opponent has an answer, they aren't recovering from 4x spin + Draw + Search + Monster Negate.
Basically you normal taia, banish blackout with its effect get a token from that and then another taken from blackout. Synchro for baxia spin 2, then baxia effect on it self to special mo ye and synchroing into baxia again to spin 2 more.
I think for people on a tight budget, including Iris Swordsoul with Geomathmech can give you a monster that many opponents can only out by tributing it or beating over it... and if you summon Supreme Sovereign, it can make it even harder for you opponent to be able to beat over your Geomathmech. Is this a top tier strategy? No, but I did start out by saying this could be an option for people on a VERY tight budget. Oh, and Iris is considered a handtrap that isn't too hard to get out onto the field as long as you get out that Chixiao... though if I had her in the deck, the hand trap aspect would only be used if the stars aligned (as in me not having my primary play with her, but finding myself in a situation in which I could benefit from using her as a hand trap).
I plan to test this same deck in Master Duel, but with a few changes: Desires is it one, so I put a Prosperous in there. I wrote every card I put into it. I titled it CaliEffect Swordsoul Recipe.
It is SO refreshing to see somebody who thinks Chaofeng is a CHOICE if not suboptimal entirely. I swear so many Swordsoul players seems to live and die by this card but I have never found a reason to make that card once. Just to block Nibiru for a single turn, die, search a tuner and then be back at square 1
I dont even know why people would make that to prevent nib if there's something easier to make. I just put a zeus instead and change of heart and talent to steal ariseheart
I'm going to tell you something. Swordsoul players are closed minded. They looked at the original ocg decklist from 2021, think that there's no way to innovate the deck, and then call the deck terrible. They look down on the more obscure cards like Chun Jun iris and golden as well yet the players who do the best in tournaments are the ones who know how to use all Swordsoul cards for any format.
Also preventing Nibiru is ridiculous. Your opponent plays Nibiru and CLEARS his own field for you if there still is one. Nibiru is not as negative for a Swordsoul player as people think.
@@zekiel2533 i mean to be fair golden is made for branded and Chunjun is very situational. Iris is fine, an extra boss monster. And abyss dragon swordsoul is also very situational. The deck can be optimized adding Yang Zings and Tenyis in different combinations as well as bystials with destrudo, but the swordsoul engine played is good as it is. I, for example, play the monster reborn of the archetype as the unic from the standard variation, but for the tenyi/yangzing engine it can variate more
Does it hurt the deck that much if I play 3x Taia and 2x Mo Ye instead of the regular 2:3 ratio? I just cannot find a third Mo Ye to complete my playset.
@@vitanv4413 Sorry, I didn't see your comment threre, Moe Ye at 3 and Taia at 2 is how it should be, Moe Ye is the perfect starter card, every turn after Taia is who you wanna summon if you need to summon him in the likely event your board gets broken.
Appreciate the profile, just got back into yugioh, quick note, I don't know all of these cards and their titles are unreadable. It took a while to figure out what a "The dragon risen" is.. lol
I recently had a match against Swordsoul using my Yosenju deck. They had 25 or so banished cards and about 11 in their gy. Only 2 left in their deck and 3 in hand and they still managed to win. :-| At that point I was really hoping for the deck out win but lost on the final turn when they managed to get out a Baron defleur which negated my last options.
Aegirine Gymir is the boss monster I main in almost all of my synchro decks now because of how good it is, also if you play Aegirine Rahn, it's a free Gymir or Baron de Fluer.
my brother in Christ me and many of your Canadian fans would be honored if you would grace us with your presence at the yugioh regional the 23rd of this month to redeem your short comings in the previous tournament and maybe get that legendary match up between you and Sam from team samuriax1 irl. much love brotha
The only place where I believe ignoring nib is correct is against exactly Kashtira as it puts them on having birth in hand. They're gonna lava golem you instead. But branded and spright and lab and every rogue strat will be playing nibiru. Your opponent will see it. And if they know to prevent the draw 2 and they nib properly you're out 3 cards. Swordsoul was tier 1 for like a whole year people know how to beat your deck. I agree that swordsoul has to go extremely wide but playing conservative has merits. Side in floodgates going first and sit on chixiao blackout d barrier or anti spell. Your massive synchro bodies favor you in the simplest of gamestates.
I would add Rivalry of the Warlords into the main deck. It is a god card in Swordsoul. Your opponent won’t be able to Kaiju or nib you and he won’t be able to summon different types of monsters, while you merely only play Wyrm mosnters! Definitely a must have for swoswo in my opinion.
@@AS-vj1ux wrong. Each player can only control one type of monster. Nibiru summons a rock type to the opponent's field, so it can't be activated. Unless the kaiju is wyrm it's not working either.
Konami gave them one final good card after their initial wave (Qixing Longyuan) then decided they weren't going to get anything else and I'll never forgive them for that. Swordsoul had the potential to be just as insane as Branded Despia is now if they continued the good support, and instead they killed every Swordsoul offscreen in the lore and let all relevance they had IRL trickle away into nothingness. They should have gotten more main deck monsters that can make tokens and at least one other Synchro monster.
It makes good hands better for sure, usually allowing for another entire synchro on board and a mid-combo negate through Metaphys Horus, but it also makes bricking more common. Fitting it will also likely require cuts to handtraps.
Vasseline quality for the closeups defo makes this worth watching Also baronne isnt the only pricey card, mo ye has sky rocketed lately because of videos like this, in the uk at least its min a £30 per card price
I feel like I missed something. When you showed desires you said you could cut it and have 42 card main. Isn’t it 43 cards? Every card before the extra was apart of the main right ?
Ringowurm is a must. Opens up a few options turn 1 including getting out the Tenyi link 4 which is crazy with blackout set. You don't have to give up a synchro for it, just a Tenyi token.
@@KierranLT I only run Baxia for Yang Zing synchros I'm on 2 Baxia. Two Chixao and one of each Sovereign. I'm on Luluwalillith and the Icejade Synchro too. I did cut barrone but that's cause I can't afford the card in paper and I bet it gets hit thanks to SHS anyway. White Aura Whale, Shenshen, Draco Berserker, all at 1. Then 2 monk, Shaman, and the link 4.
I've recently really been liking decks that reward skillful piloting and fair gameplay, so might actually wanna pick up Swordsoul. Haven't watched it in full yet, but great vid Cali!
What about sword soul is either of those? Are you being sarcastic? You better be. Or else you're getting swatted. I don't have to sit here and take a bold faced lie to my face. That's harassment.
@@pinkdelicious655 check out Milano's vid on Swordsoul to get an idea on what I'm talking about. Also, I'm referring to the deck in the TCG, not in MD if that's what you're thinking of
Yo cali I am trying to build a strong fur hire deck and there are hardly any good deck lists with makes it quite difficult to make the deck as I am only 13 and I have only been p,aging for a few years do you reckon you can help a brother out?
How are you tributing Iblee with Santa Claws? Iblee would be on your field and “they” don’t control Iblee and your locked into Link Monster special only 🤔
I think he meant he'd Tribute Iblee to Normal Summon Santa Claus, and he preferred Santa Claus over Kaijus because it is a Level 6, thus requiring only 1 Tribute and also good as material for further Synchro Summoning
Dont learn how to read Play cyber dragons It's turn 10 Have 2 cyber dragons 2 cores and 2 hertz in grave 1 cyber dragon and 1 hertz on field. Normal summoned another Core and activate its effect. Opponent activated icejade in response Get 9 cyber dragons banished in 1 move 😅😅😅
Listen just try it out and leave a review use all soulsword cards including Iris and Abyss dragon trust me OP you can summon all 4 every time your 2nd turn

Hm. Banishing also makes Chungus stronger... Plus the Quickplay spells makes Chungus live during your opponent turn... Ok I will try this out. What ratios you recommend?
@@videofudge 3 of every quickplay (exceptions being 1 smiting storm and no copies of droplet or dispelling), 2 fountain, 3 destrudo. destrudo is for either yazi or prima donna 2 hugin, 1 of every other ed mosnter. if you dont have enough space cut freki.
