A WOMAN who has kept her 12 inch super-long nails for 32 years has pledged that she will never cut them short. Cordelia Adams, 59, from Gary, Indiana, started growing her nails in 1989 after being inspired by her mother who also had long nails. Cordelia's nails, now measuring just over 12 inches, once reached 16 inches at their longest. Cordelia, who works as a nail technician and makeup artist, is dedicated to taking care of her nails all by herself - from regular cleaning and trimming to polishing and creating artistic nail designs. To prevent her nails from breaking, Cordelia has learned to swiftly use her knuckles to perform daily tasks and avoids touching anything with her fingertips. Known as 'Ms Nails' on social media, Cordelia shot to fame last year after 17 million people watched her washing her super-long nails on TikTok. Along with the attention, Cordelia also received judgement and disrespectful comments online - but the long nails lover is determined to keep them regardless of what the haters say.

Yeah, the questions she listed were out of genuine curiosity, not out of disrespect. "Disrespect" is judgmental: "you're crazy, you're weird... etc, etc." The questions asked were "are they heavy, how do you do this, how do you do that?"

They use acrylic (or whatever that stuff old school nail artist use) to reinforce the nail. Which makes them end up looking thicker then normal nails. If one happens to break off, they use the same method to attach it back at it's breaking point.

Looks like she's using acrylic paint and a paintbrush like you'd use on a canvas rather than nail polish so all the layers of paint are probably what's holding the nails together at this point

Who knows where your co-worker went? Where are our loved ones that are no longer in this conciousness we call life? I think these things everytime I lose a person in my life. I finally met her that day and told her she definitely wins the prize for the longest nails... we are still friends to this day. If she is happy about her passion. I must respect it. God Bless.....

I only have 1 inch nails and I hate the feeling after I cut them short. When the skin on your fingertips never touches anything because it's shielded by the nail, it becomes pretty sensitive and tends to rip away from the nail or be sore since the fingertips almost sort of fuse to the underside of the nail after months. It's very different having natural nails vs fake ones.

Cant believe I'm saying this but I like them . The way there painted reminds me of that hippy hair threading trend that was popular for a while .. She's a nail tech so her look probably attracts customers . You know what's crazy is I'm a massage therapist with very short nails but switched to massaging with knuckles to apply more pressure and improve my longevity in my craft . When I heard her talking about using her knuckles I was like NO WAY !!
