I'm far too attached to my DD-3. I paid for it on layaway in 2004 from the guitar shop I cut my teeth in, and had to fight myself for years after to play without it. That tiny tour-de-force in engineering stuck by me through marriage, divorce, and homelessness, oddly. Come 2013, and I had a tough choice to make in order to keep the lights on, and food in my stomach until my next check, and I pawned it, $40, ripped off I'd say. Sent me home crying for about an hour, and sporadically until payday when I checked in, and the little box was still there, scratches, dirt and all, so I took the $$$ loss to put it back in my possession. Stuck with me until late 2019, when a bedbug infestation lead to sealing away the important few possessions, and ditching the rest. It came out of storage two years ago, and has been a happy reunion since. I don't think it's letting *me* go. Enjoy your Boss Delay :)
Unfreakingbelievable! I can’t believe how many sounds and types of sounds you got out of that pedal. That was incredible. Some of it was perfect to put through a looper 🎵. It’s definitely a keeper! 👍☮️🌞🎸💖
Yes mate! The Boss delays are awesome- cool to see how you"re mixing it up with your board. Got a DD6 many moons ago and was a game changer (& an absolute bargain-especially second hand). Can't think of many better pedals to repeat all the bum notes I hit. 🤘
I bought a dd7 used on ebay a few months back.. great deals to be had. I've had fun running various degrees of chorus into the modulation mode. Great playing Dave, cheers!
I love Boss delays...Boss pedals in general...they have the best switching system. I've had the Boss DDS 3 for decades...it's got a short sampler built in. I also use an Earthquaker Dispatch Master which has a wonderful reverb and delay and finally I have an old 78 DOD 680 analog delay that sits on my amp and acts like an A/B box with a remote out...wonderful unit. My gigging board has the Boss delay
Awesome Dave! I love Boss pedals, and Digitech also, I have my eye on a Boss Reverb pedal up at the neighborhood pawn shop. I learned by watching Thomas Blugs RU-vid Channel that on a Tape Delay setting, if you turn the delay to 310ms, it is a great ambient reverb sound. Speaking of Thomas Blug, you should check out his Amp1 Mercury edition, it has a Plexi voicing and is a pedal amp that is very versatile, would be good for a backup amp if anything!
I have the BOSS DD3 on my board as my set it and forget it delay but I also stack it with a second delay pedal The NEMESIS by source audio. I use that for all my crazy delay stuff or just more pronounce clean delays. Also I sometimes run them both at the same time. Man can that punch a solo depending on the songs. Queensryche like One and Only stacking a delay just slays the solos. But glad to see you're happy, I would like to get a DD7 myself.
Ooh-hoo-hoo, sneaking close to becoming a Voodoo Chile there. ;) The immediacy of playing around with some delay pedals is so absorbing that it becomes similar to meditation or going off into your own world or trance. Which may or may not be productive but it sure has its own rewards.
I have a dd7, and I think it has the best reverse delay from other units I've tried. The analog sound is warm and the modulation setting is pleasant. However, the ehx canyon makes my board on account of the shimmer setting. I dig the octave and reverb setting too. The modulation setting is modeled after a deluxe memory man and the octave setting comes from the POG algorithm. Highly recommend!
The Canyon could have been my favorite delay. But how on earth do you use it live or at a rehearsal? The mode-knob has no resistance and everything is soooooo tiny :-D Great sounds tough, but I stick to my Carbon Copy and the DD-7
@@jillesguzman3333 yeah, you're probably right! For me, it's basically an always on pedal set to shimmer on a wet/dry rig, stacked with another delay (donner echosquare) set to sweep. Only knob I turn is the level knob depending on the song I'm performing.😄
Excellent pedal. I am fairly new (returned player) and bought a DD8 last year. I've had zero issues with it. What is that covered unit behind you with the white input jack and the black plug into it?
Delay effect is like the Blood of my music i still own my very old Boss pedal been owning since early 2000 i think is exactly the same you have is beautiful the things that you can do by mixing Echo + Delay my music is to put it in a simplistic way is like if you mix Tony iommi Black sabbath tone with the psychedelia or cosmic soundings of David gilmour Pink floyd but also i know that all my love for OST and instrumental influences have a massive impact on my music as well well played at the intro
Sounds like I wrote this! Here I have a cool link for you... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4C5ZkwrnVfM.html Listened to this today and I was like hell yeah! Maybe you'll like it too.
If you like the DD7, GET THE DD20!!!!!! I've had 4 and they are hands down the best delay pedal on the market. You can set 4 presets, it has a tap tempo, looper, reverse, dual, tape, and tones more features. The best of all a modulated delay in which you can set the depth and rate. There's nothing better than a 1 rate, 99 depth, chorus on a delay. You can also set the mix to zero on the reverse and only get the reverse delay coming through for epic Give It Away type solos. You'll still fit the harmonist but you'll have to lose the mini pedal.
One thing I like about you is you play standing up...Someone like you is going to play guitar for the rest of their lives and there will be plenty of time in the future to sit down.
I adore the DD-7. There´s only a single thing that I don´t like: The modulation. I wished it was possible to adjust it. It´s too "strong" in my opinion.
The only flaw in this pedal is: you can’t put it on pause using HOLD mode. Do disappointing!!! This pedal could save me some space in my pedalboard, cause 40sec is enough for practicing.
No worries, hope you enjoy the pedal and get some great use and gigs out of it. I’ve owned the dd3 and dd6 before with so many good things to say about them
