I’ve been watching this show for a LOOOONG TIME. I’ve NEVER been surprised more than when he revealed Cy’s name ;o.

Watching these videos is like a clean breath of fresh air compared to the drivel on today.

Art Carney was an amazing performer.

My uncle was nicknamed Cy after Cy Young as he was a pitcher in school. "Glad to be here, folks!" I also love seeing Fred Allen on this. I hadn't seen much of him before watching "What's My Line" and wish I could see more.

Fred Allen died in 1956 when I was just a kid..And I'm now just appreciating him..I've heard the name growing up, But never put a face to it..

Jimmie Foxx was one of the greatest sluggers in baseball history. Denton True Young won 511 games in his career. In today's game, there might never be another 300 game-winner among pitchers starting their career so that should tell you how beyond reach his record is. It is the one baseball record that will never ever be broken. Of course, the award for the best pitchers in the American and National league win the Cy Young award as being the best pitchers during the season. As a baseball fan for over 60 years, this video was fantastic to watch. Thanks for posting it.

I bet Bill Cullen was beside himself for the rest of his life for taking this night off and missing Cy Young! Bill was a huge baseball fan and he probably would have gotten the first two hall of famers right away.

Whenever I watch these very old, now, TV shows.......afterwards I always want to visit the cemetery.

Fred Allen was a real straight man. Loved his humor and sad he died of a heart attack walking home after a filming of ‘What’s my line’ way before my time but love these shows. As for the carton of cigarettes, even the kids got them to give to their parents.

I love watching these old black and white episodes of IVGAS. There has been many interesting contestants. I don't know how they were able to guess many of the secrets. Between Mr Young and the gentleman who was present when John Wilks Booth shot Lincoln. And the toddler who ate his brothers bug collection for a school project. And my favorite panelist was Betsy Palmer, and I liked Jane Meadows a awful lot too.

My, how times have changed! Can you IMAGINE giving out cartons of Winstons as "parting gifts" today?? And I'm an "evil" smoker for the past 45 years ...... I was startled.

This is a great episode, because they're giving Henry Morgan a chance to showcase the same style of comedy that he used on his old radio shows.

I love watching these old shows even though it's way before my time. There's so much history here, love Cy Young and the Hall of Famers.

Cy Young died at age 88 in November 1955, the same year as this show. Some of his records still stand after a Century !!

Im 29 years old but ive always been an old soul, the 50s dont even seem that old to me. I love learning what my parents, grand parents, etc experienced, read, watched or listened to.

I forgot to write that is was great seeing Art Carney and Steve Allen was a lucky man being with Jayne Meadows.

Wow1 Art Carney, Fred Allen and three baseball Hall of Famers on the same show along with their usual assemblage of talent! The baseball players were the heroes of the youth of the men involved, (apparently, the two women were not baseball fans - too bad Larraine Day wasn't on the panel). The fact that these shows are no 7 decades old means that the older people who appear on them may have bene prominent when the 20th century began and will have memories of the 19th century. You-Tube is a real time machine!

I'm 77 & watched "I've Got A Secret", religiously in 1955! (I even met Henry Morgan in 1967 & was in the audience of Bill Cullen's show "The Price is Right" in 1962!) However, I believe something is wrong with the date of this show, i.e. since "The Honeymooners" was only on one season, Sept. 1955 to June 1956, how could Art Carney have already won an "Emmy" on Apr. 13th,1955, when this show aired? p.s. Only the 'vignettes were on then!

Eighty bucks and a carton of Winstons. I'd love to have been backstage to hear Fred Allen's crack about his prizes for playing.

Because there must be someone out there like me who needs to know this. The pennant race that year came down to the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees. The Dodgers won. It was their only pennant win while located in Brooklyn.

Cy Young was 88 years old and died 6 months later. He was the G.O.A.T in MLB!

I think Art recognized Cy and said pitcher but got a signal from the show to not ruin it and threw in the word rookie to keep the fun going
