If you've not seen the movie Jim Garner was working on, try to find a copy of The Wheeler Dealers. It's a hoot! I saw it, back in the day, at the drive-in with my folks. I can still hear mama and daddy laughing. RIP mom and dad. RIP James Garner. Thank you all for the magic and memories.
He was a really intelligent man; so it does not surprise me he actually could figure them out. The German really is not surprising, since it was his native language.

It caused problems with Betsy Palmer, because she did not want a woman on the show more beautiful then herself. When she discovered Bess Myerson was going to come on the show as a panelist, Goodson and Todman told Betsy if there was one compliant caused from it, she would get fired from the show.
