I use to shoot film but life got in the way, Bought my first digital end of last year and the learning curve has been huge, I am currently on 4 stock sites and was requested by one to be exclusive. Totally undecided about that. However I am shooting, a wide range, never shot still life before, bought a light box and now have a few still lifes on stock libraries. Covered a festival, street photography style missed attending some festivals that according to some sights they are looking for more images on. Playing around a little with video , had a great one made years ago when a group went tuna fishing, have since lost the DVD.Enjoy your content.

That photo from 10 years ago, well, things have changed a lot since then. I tried doing stock photo but it requred SO MUCH uploading of SO MANY photos that it just wasn't worth my time, the pay was pennies. So, no, stock photography isn't for me.

@@ZdenkaDarula Yes, one other thing - everyone is a photographer these days, and the quality of images coming from mobile devices are sometimes, not always but sometimes, better than those taken on a $5000 DSLR. Your baby photo that has made you $8,000 over the years is timeless as you mentioned, and your advice would be to focus on shooting such photos as that if you decide to shoot and submit stock photographs?

Dear Zdenka, I just discovered you and I am learning so much from your videos. I have a huge problem and I’m having so much trouble fixing it. Since I first started RU-vid, I’ve been using my phone to video and edit and upload without much problem, but I decided to upgrade to a s22 ultra and cannot get sound synced in video, so I got another iphone13 pro max and when I edit with VN editor ( I love it) I’m able to cut and crop, but once I export, I see that the cutting was done but not the cropping, and I can’t figure out why. I’ve cried with frustration as I have no way of working…do I need a special setting on my iPhone or my VN editor? Please help.

Hello Rachel. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having such a trouble and I know that this can be very frustrating. I’ve had moments like that when I was giving up. I honestly don’t know what the problem is. I would try just importing to clips into a different video editing up an exploding them and see what is happening before you edit anything else. Otherwise the best would be to import the footage to a laptop or any computer and just use cheaper video editing software as apps can be quite complicated

Wow for somebody that really has a good mindset about their approach to stock photography and videography, I'm really surprised that you suggested Shutterstock for that 1% kick back for a year. You do know that wirestock takes your rights, and that they do a terrible job of tagging your photos clips. And that was not very hard for a beginner to notice.

First of all, this is all the video. This is not about suggesting Shutterstock. This was to show my story from those all years. I sell the same photo on many different sites. When it comes to Wirestock we all have our own opinions.., I see the numbers I see and I’m happy with the sales. I don’t have time to submit to separate agencies anymore but again we all have different experiences and different opinions which is totally ok 👍

Yes you always pay models and sign model releases. If photographer is not honest and doesn’t explain what stock is to models, then they can expect lawsuits. This one is my daughter.

My question is ....If you take a natural unique photo, what would you want to take out or put in v through editing? That's what I do not understand! I thought if you take a photo you would want all the natural things that's taken with that photo!!

If you want to sell you have to make it sellable. The white background was not a white background it was just a blanket over her head I had to add the white blanket over the head. All babies have acne and she had that as well. The skin needed to be cleared up. You can take a natural photo and keep it for yourself but if you want to sell photos on stock they need to be perfect otherwise you will not sell anything. It is the way it is

Stock is not about fashion… it is more those commercial photos that sells the best such as medical shots

My most sold photo on Shutterstock is an ugly picture of tar being poured into an ugly bucket and even the edit isnt good. Made $40 off of that one

Thanks, but I think that I wasn’t. I tried to sell my images to advertisement agencies and work with agents, and never made as much money as with stock.. I’ve worked a little 15 minutes and then another 15 minutes editing that’s a hell of a load of income for 30 minutes total time
