My friend Mike @shinmikeyin has bought himself the most insane sounding car ever, a Pagani Zonda R! It's one of only 15 in the world, with a screaming V12, a hypercar for the track but I don't think I've previously heard one revving in a garage... with added flames... wow!
Mike and I have caught up a number of times in previous years during my trips to LA, from having my ears blown away by his straight pipe LaFerrari, to going out in the Pagani Huayra BC and Koenigsegg Agera RS Phoenix. This time around, knowing the Zonda R had just arrived, I was wise enough to bring some ear plugs with me for the carnage ahead...
The Pagani Zonda R is one of the ultimate gentlemen track cars, with a 6.0l naturally aspirated V12 that puts out 750hp, but crucially being a car for the circuit does not have anything to restrict the sound, just a perfect exhaust system that screams like no other.
After a quick look at the new car, it's time to take a listen and be partially deafened by it in the process thanks to some revs and flames thrown out the back. There's no question that the sound is out of this world!
After putting the engine cover back in place, which is a job on its own requiring many hands and the right sequence of steps, let's also check out the other cars in Mike's garage such as the Pagani Huayra BC, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Koenigsegg Agera RS Phoenix and the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster tuned running an IPE exhaust, Mansory wheels and Mansory body kit.
