Wraith is the killer I've probably played the most hours as. And in this video I've finally tested and compared all his available older versions. From the release one which was pretty much a laughing stock, to patch 7.1.1 where he's almost a solid A tier.

Wraith has been getting lots of Ws recently. Still doesn’t match against other killers but he’s simple and fun to play as now. If you just want to chill and play some games then he’s one of the best killer to do that with.

I played a lot of old Wraith and distinctly remember how he barely got faster in cloak, being able to see him across the map always felt weird to me as well When the devs made him move at 150% in cloak and made it harder to see him I felt like my suffering had been recognised, never expected them to fully remove his lightburn tho

I remember patch 1.8.3 with the wraith cube it felt like God reached down and touched wraith mains specifically and boy did it feel good. The biggest thing was that interaction with map objects while cloaked was unlike any other previous buff. Combine that with the winter solstice event that came out at the same time and you got bliss.

And Wraith had completly other animations in old dbd. Example : His attack cooldown animation / Running Animation. Fun Fact : The old wraith pov his weapon holding is the same from wesker now. Because in some Patches they changed Wraiths POV to Trapper POV for no Reason.

@@SireK0zy compared to other characters he has a really hard time keeping up nowadays wraith is still pretty addon reliant and even then people have learned to counter him so his stealth becomes useless.

Hot take: I don't think he's as weak as most people say he is, just depends on the map and how coordinated people are. He might struggle a lot against super coordinated teams and certain maps, but a competent Wraith player isn't a force to underestimated, generally speaking.

@@NovaYX he is one of the biggest solo q stompers becasue of his unique hit and run in this sloppy buther (again) era taht he can bring on an addon and tyhen something else to help his uncloacking or he could use an addon to read how progress gens have on top with many other perks... he is very versatile nad has PERKS for ADDONS like no other killer... im not saying he is op, he is not... but far from being weak, he is a VERY SOLID B tier killer. far from being unplayable and most games will turnout in a victory with him because of his versatility. on top of that very easy to use for how decent he is.

something i think that should be added is anytime the uesless BRIGHTNESS of the beam of a flashie is even slightly affecting vision without stunning yet, it should have a partial ranged aura blindess to it and a walking speed slow down for the killer, this would help saves and flashie pallet escapes, otw one thing you can still do if ur cheeky to wraith is just norm blind his ass as hes tryna uncloak, noobs will jerk that mouse so hard they 360 me

Anyone who says "Survivors are so OP!! honestly i have no solution on what to do about this interaction. it was fun i guess. i do miss it but i can't say that I 100% think that bringing it back would be right. at least it's not fair that only 1 or 2 killers have to suffer from it that much

@@SireK0zy I mean other than hag and wraith, id say they were are pretty balanced if not could have been made to have been more effective, and I think the answer is pretty simple for wraith, you just make it so there is maybe a target area you have to aim for, so it requires more precision on the survivors part (but youd have to make it a general zone so it cant be 100% avoided like blinds can be by turning but the wraith can still move more sporadic to make it harder to land)

Ngl I wish instead of making all killers not interact with flashlights, I wish they did the reverse and made ALL killers interact with flashlights but then decrease the duration of the flashlight That’s kinda of my controversial opinion, and I’m a killer main. Another one: make all items useable against killers, aka maps could show trappers traps, spots a blight bumped, where victor is when idle, key being able to show the % of how much a billy charged up their chainsaw, stuff like that, then increase the amount of chests and give killers some basekit way to take away survivors items, like downing them making their items drop

Late to the party but it's crazy how different he is now from back then. He was a complete drag before his rework. I still have no idea what the thought process was behind him not bing bonging the bell from the beginning, and the speed penalty was a massive drag.

The thing about reducing post-Uncloak speed boost was related to the bug that happened during 4.5.0/4.6.0. Normally, the movement speed increases at about the last 10% of Uncloaking, the bug back then misplaced the speed increase which only happened *after* Uncloak. To temporarily band-aid it, the speed boost duration was increased from 1s to 1.25s until the bug was fixed. Yes, the revert happened a bit later than it should have considering the bug-fix dropped much closer to 5.1.0 iirc. So there you have it. It's a bit like when old Enduring/post-rework DS used to interact, forcing DS to get longer Stun duration and only during 6.1.0 the time was reversed.

19:06 I really want them to make the tutorial better than this. For example, the tutorial in For Honor tutorial teaches you almost everything in the game. I do not want them to make a tutorial like this, but one teaches you all the important things and takes its time, and perhaps a tutorial for some killers like Trapper teaches you not to set a trap directly in front of the window, but rather place the trap a little in front of the window, and so on.

The issue I feel while playing Wraith is just that he feels like an easier, far less powerful spirit. Aside from being able to see survivors while invisible and not having a limit to his cloaking, Spirit is just a direct upgrade to what Wraith is supposed to be, and her downsides can be circumvented by the skill of her user (and decent headphones).

It actually makes me laugh that the community whined so much wraith got the 1.25 uncloak boost reverted. Wraith, one of the shittier killers in the game, got his only antiloop power nerfed lol. He's still alright but that nerf was in no way justified.

wraith was getting buffed constantly but it never bothered me from 2017 to 2019 as he was still a fun killer to go against. but after not playing for acouple of years and coming back about 2 months ago, wraith has become that killer you want to just dc when you hear that uncloaking. all you see is wraiths running the best add ons with counter pallet perks. i mean it would be fine, but after seeing that wraith could not be burned anymore, he's not even a challenge really. just more of a reason to question why i came back to this game

@@tanderson1480 Not really, he is S tier in public. Like I said, i win 99% of my games with him. All depending how you play him. If you play hit and run and bodyblocks all loops he is good. You must play Eruption/Jolt/Sloppy/Enduring (for dumpy tech and quick stun), Eruption/Jolt for slug when a generator explodes and get a free hit and Jolt for three gens, like that you spam Jolt and slug everytimes. And you need swifthunt add-on, like that you can decloak before the vault and get a free hit when the survivor wants spam the window when you are invisible, without that add-on wraith is B, C tier. And with him you can easily win on all maps except knight's map who is horrible because they camp paletts and genrush. I hope that is understable because i'm French.

@@tanderson1480 well considering I live in texas, my ping is always at least 80 considering there are only 2 servers in America and they are both at least 1,000miles away. If wraith comes out of his cloak, 95% of the time I will get hit even if I try to spin just because the timing to the server. This goes for all killers though. And if I try to fake actions early to match the ping issue it could not work because it feels random how close the killer real is

They should let wraith hit players while invisible, but while he’s been uncloaked for 8 seconds, he can immediately down a survivor. However light burn NEEDS to be a factor to balance this change.
